WoW Midnight Mining Guide 1–100 Complete Walkthrough
Oh my goodness, the wait is finally over! We can at last explore delves with a rogue who won't pull the entire room while we are trying to heal!!
Brann retired. The dungeon-crawling torch has been passed to a leather-clad Blood Elf who can actually be in stealth between pulls. Here's how not to waste her.
Valeera Sanguinar is the Delve companion for WoW: Midnight — effectively the Brann Bronzebeard of Quel'Thalas, minus the pith helmet and the shouting. She is a Blood Elf Rogue, ex-arena gladiator, member of the Uncrowned, Hearthstone's default Rogue hero, and apparently now also a certified dungeon guide. The lore justification for why a legendary assassin wants to accompany you through ten mid-sized instances is "she's just really into treasure." Incredibly relatable.
Her reputation as your Delve companion is tracked — a Warband-wide reputation, meaning every alt you own benefits from grinding her on your World of Warcraft Dreamrift help.

Complete the intro questline in the Midnight starting zone. Specifically, pick up "Midnight: Delves" to get the tutorial chain started. Valeera greets you at the Delver's Headquarters in Silvermoon — which is, lore-appropriately, located in a shady corner of The Bazaar. Once unlocked, she's permanently available on all characters in your Warband.
Tip: Hit level 90 and return to her — she gives a short follow-up questline that introduces the Season 1 Nemesis Nullaeus and unlocks the vendors.
Valeera gains XP from kills, looting Mislaid Curiosities, and delve completions. After level 15, only Bountiful Delves grant her XP — look for the glowing door icon on the map.

|
Level cap (Season 1) |
60, starting March 17, 2026 |
Each level-up adds a rank to the Explorer's Journal passive (up to rank 50 at level 60). This directly scales Valeera's DPS output, so neglecting her early is a choice you will regret in World of Warcraft Quel'Danas help.

Valeera has 7 abilities regardless of which role you stick her in. These are always active. The role you pick just adds on top of these.
|
Ability |
What It Does |
|
Stealth |
She goes invisible between combat. Lets you skip packs without her yanking aggro on the way. Finally. |
|
Rupture |
Physical DoT over 24 sec. Background bleed that just keeps ticking while she does other things. |
|
Masterful Feint |
Big AoE damage reduction. Makes Valeera dramatically less squishy during pull spam. Passive-ish. |
|
Fan of Knives |
AoE Physical damage around her. She casts this constantly. You will hear it in your sleep. |
|
Blood Contract |
Marks a random enemy for death for 1 min. Killing it procs Paid in Blood — a Primary Stat buff for Valeera and all allies for 20 sec. Important on pulls with multiple elites. |
|
Tools of the Trade |
Bonus gold, ore, herbs, fish, leathers, and treasures. Also triggers the Mandate of Sacred Death curio if equipped. Why yes, she is also your gatherer. |
|
Killing Spree |
She dashes through shadows hitting multiple enemies for significant Physical damage. Her big burst button. |

The "I can carry my own healing, let her kill things" role. Strong for tanks and self-sufficient specs.
|
Ability |
What It Does |
|
Unrelenting |
Recharges Fan of Knives, Rupture, and Killing Spree 30% faster. Meaningfully more DPS per pack. |
|
Dagger to the Throat |
Interrupt + 5 sec silence on a 12 sec CD. Actually useful on caster packs. Yes, even you, caster DPS who thinks you don't need help. |
|
Poison of the Forgotten Master |
+5% damage stacking every 3 sec in combat, up to 5 stacks. Falls off if anyone takes a hit. Keep it topped off for big pulls. |
|
Cheap Shot |
Physical damage + 10 sec stun on a 40 sec CD. Use it on elites. Stun is a stun. |
|
Jagged Caltrops |
Poison AoE on a 30 sec CD. Nature damage ground effect. Nice for kiting situations you weren't supposed to be in. |
|
No Witnesses |
+20% Haste buff for 15 sec. CD resets on kill. Space out kills to keep it rolling the entire delve. This is the ability that makes Valeera feel fast. |
|
Uncrowned's Bloody Ledger (passive) |
+5% damage per spell/ability, scales with each level. 50 ranks. Your primary scaling stat as DPS. |

The "I am a fragile mage who breathes wrong and dies" role. Vampiric Reaping is genuinely excellent. Pick this if you never want to eat food between pulls.
|
Ability |
What It Does |
|
Vampiric Reaping |
Stabs an enemy, drains life force, spawns Blood Orbs on the ground. Picking them up heals you + applies a stacking HoT. Collect orbs before the HoT falls off to carry the stack forward. This is your main source of survival as a Healer-Valeera user. |
|
Shadow Veil |
Dispel harmful magical effects on an ally. 8 sec CD. More valuable in Midnight than ever given the expansion's magic-heavy enemies. |
|
Soulthirst Venom |
+10% Leech, Avoidance, and Speed to allies' weapons. Passive survivability that stacks cleanly with your own defensives. |
|
Cheap Shot |
Still there. Still a 10 sec stun. She does try to kill things occasionally. |
|
Crimson Vial Fumes |
Healing vapor cloud on the ground. Stand in it. Revolutionary technology. |
|
Uncrowned's Alchemical Codex (passive) |
+65% increased healing from her spells. 50 ranks. Scales per level. This is why Healer Valeera becomes more useful as you level her up. |

The "I am a healer who cannot pull five things at once" role. Valeera bodily throws herself between you and danger, which is noble and also statistically unreliable on Tier 9+.
|
Ability |
What It Does |
|
Your First Mistake |
Taunt + high Physical DoT for 16 sec every 2 sec. Her main tank ability. The name is directed at the enemy. Or at you for pulling this many mobs. |
|
Scar of Kathra'natir |
Attacks against her deal 20% less damage, converted to a short DoT. Occasionally spawns an Echo of Kathra'natir — kill it and she heals 6% max HP/sec for 5 sec. Weird mechanic. Works. |
|
Dagger to the Throat |
Interrupt + silence. Tanks need interrupts. Check. |
|
Bloodcrypt Toxin |
Enemies struck take 10% less damage and have -10% Haste for 20 sec. A meaningful debuff on elites. |
|
Attack from the Shadows |
Shadowsteps in, triggers Fan of Knives, taunts all enemies within 12 yards. 20 sec CD. Her AoE taunt. This is good. |
|
Blood-Stained Blades |
Healing received increases her damage by 8% per stack. The more she gets hit and healed, the harder she hits back. Poetic. |
|
Uncrowned's Playbook of Subterfuge (passive) |
+30% max HP and +30% healing received. 50 ranks. This is why Tank Valeera doesn't immediately explode at Tier 5+. |
Tank mode survival note: If her HP hits 0, Valeera enters Unconscious state at 50% reduced healing received. On higher tiers, reviving her before mobs close in is a frantic experience. The moment she drops, turn around and sprint back. She will respawn nearby, but she won't wait for World of Warcraft Sporefall help.

|
Your Spec Type |
Valeera Role |
Why |
|
Tank (Blood DK, Prot Paladin, etc.) |
DPS |
You have survivability. You lack execution damage on elites. Let her murder specific targets while you hold everything. |
|
DPS (Mage, Hunter, Rogue, etc.) |
HEALER |
Vampiric Reaping orbs keep you topped off without stopping to eat. Stay offensive. Don't stop killing. |
|
Healer (Resto Druid, Holy Priest, etc.) |
DPS |
You can keep yourself alive. You need someone to actually kill things within this century. |
Bonus tip for DPS players: The No Witnesses ability (DPS role) grants +20% Haste with its CD resetting on kill. If you are playing a fast-killing spec, DPS Valeera can occasionally outperform Healer Valeera in overall run speed by just making everything die faster.
Curios are gear slots for Valeera. They drop from end-of-delve chests at increasing quality (Common = Rank 1 → Epic = Rank 4). You can equip 1 Combat curio and 1 Utility curio. Reaching Rank 4 on every curio earns you the Curio Fanatic: Midnight achievement.

Verdict |
|
Sanctum's Edict |
Valeera gains Blessings from kills and combat (Elites: +10, normals: +2). Each Blessing: +1% damage/healing. At 30 stacks, converts 60% current HP into an absorb shield. Shield increases bonus potency. |
Best all-around. It's damage AND survivability. Take this unless you're actively dying. |
|
Overflowing Voidspire |
After 25 sec of combat, +18% damage and healing for 35 sec. 35 sec CD. |
Excellent on long pulls. Useless if your pulls are short. Know your route. |
|
Mantle of Stars |
When any ally drops below 40% HP: absorb shield for 50% max HP, knockup nearby enemies, +25% damage taken by those enemies for 12 sec. 2 min CD. |
Defensive panic button. If you're dying on tier entry, equip this, fix your tier, then swap later. |
|
Ebon Crown of Subjugation |
Opening a Mislaid Curiosity summons a Subjugated Burden. +2% Primary Stat each (up to 12). Bonus increases after 6+ Burdens. |
Consistent Primary Stat if you open Curiosities. Pairs well with Mandate of Sacred Death (utility). |
|
Holy Bounding Hand Grenade |
Chance to toss a Holy grenade during combat, 50% stun for 1.5 sec, 40% bounce to a new target. Cannot bounce to you. Somehow. |
Situationally funny. Functionally decent CC support. Named by someone who was clearly having a good day. |
|
Mandate of Sacred Death |
Tools of the Trade triggers a Sacred Mandate: 8% chance per harmful spell to deal 2% target max HP as Holy damage. Small chance to execute non-boss enemies. Once per 2 sec. |
Good if you open lots of Curiosities. The passive execute is a surprisingly useful bonus on trash. |
|
Motionless Nulltide |
Standing still in combat stacks Cosmic Momentum (up to 20). At 20 stacks, jump to consume: +2% Haste per stack for 20 sec + knockup nearby enemies. CD: 20 sec. |
Great for turret specs who don't move anyway. Melee specs will hate this and should. |
|
Time Lost Edict |
Chance to create a sanctified area: +20% move speed, cooldown recharge, and cast speed for allies inside; opposite for enemies. Lasts 12 sec. |
Incredible when it procs during a big pull. Infuriating when it procs on a 2-mob pack you've already killed. |
Standard setup:Sanctum's Edict (Combat) + Ebon Crown of Subjugation (Utility). Opens strong, stays strong, and snowballs correctly. Default to this, then adjust for your tier level and content goals.
Valeera Sanguinar is a massive upgrade for your WoW: Midnight delving, offering genuine utility through stealth mechanics, tailored combat roles, and Warband-wide reputation scaling. Whether you need her to execute priority targets as a DPS, keep you alive with Vampiric Reaping orbs as a Healer, or draw aggro as a Tank, leveling her up through Bountiful Delves is crucial for surviving Tier 8+ content. By optimizing her Curio combinations and taking advantage of her passive buffs, you can turn this iconic rogue into an indispensable ally who actually helps rather than pulling the entire room.

Oh my goodness, the wait is finally over! We can at last explore delves with a rogue who won't pull the entire room while we are trying to heal!!

Regular enemy kills stop granting experience after level fifteen; you must run Bountiful Delves to progress.
The best overall setup combines the Sanctum's Edict for combat and the Ebon Crown for utility.
Pick up the Blood Orbs spawned by her Vampiric Reaping ability just before the healing expires.
Yes, her reputation is Warband-wide, meaning all of your alts will benefit from your main's grinding.
