Windrose Glorious Hunters Quest Complete Guide

Taking on the Rogue Buccaneers faction quest line (often referred to as part of the Glorious Hunters arc) is a wonderful way to kickstart your journey in Windrose! Completing this adventure rewards you with a fantastic 200 Faction Reputation points and a unique item called the Buccaneer's Friend.

Be sure to use the promo code CRINGEBLOG! Rest assured, just like this guide, it won't let you down and is sure to live up to all your expectations. ^_^

If your character is around Level 3 or 4, this quest chain is the absolute perfect way to safely boost your faction standing, unlocking better gear, helpful building blueprints, and friendlier dialogue options with the local NPCs.

Here is a friendly, step-by-step walkthrough to help you easily navigate the first phase of this quest and gather all the hidden treasures along the way!

Phase 1: Finding Traces of the Buccaneers

Your first objective is to explore three specific locations marked on your map to gather vital clues and quest items. Taking your time to thoroughly look around each site is highly recommended, as they are packed with extra goodies!

1. The Abandoned Buccaneer Camp

This camp is a goldmine for early-game items and contains your first major quest requirements.

  • Rooftop Chest: Climb the slope to the roof of the main building to find a Buccaneers' Chest. Inside, you can find a refreshing Rum Bottle and a nice base decoration.
  • The Main Entrance: Head down to the front entrance to examine the Old Rag, then step just inside to interact with the Shabby Desk.
  • The Quest Items: Round the corner at ground level to find a second chest. Opening this reveals your two essential quest items: the Broken Musket and the first page of Marcel Boucher's Diary.
  • The Bonus Chest: Cross over to the far wall, inspect the Abandoned Belongings, and open the third chest to pick up a handy Rapier and some Homemade Gunpowder!
πŸ— Wildlife Tip: Keep an eye out for wild boars roaming around the camp! When you see a red glint in their eyes, they are getting ready to charge in a straight line. Simply dodge sideways to avoid the impact, and strike while they recover. Bringing a few Healing Potions along will keep your health bar nice and full!

2. The Abandoned Buccaneer Warehouse

When you arrive at the warehouse, you will find the main entryway gently blocked by some old storage containers.

  • Clear the Path: Use your axe to comfortably break through the wooden crates blocking the door.
  • The Hidden Cache: Just behind the blockade sits a Supply Cache. Be sure to open it, as it frequently rewards you with a highly valuable Fast Travel Bell!
  • The Rooftop Clue: Head up to the roof to discover another chest. This one contains a Damaged Flask and the next important page of Marcel Boucher's diary.

3. The Destroyed Buccaneer Fort

Your final stop takes you to an impressive fort that rewards adventurous climbers.

  • The Entryway: As you walk through the main archway, take a moment to safely inspect the Old Skeleton resting near the entrance.
  • Jump the Gap: Head upstairs and examine the Broken Gate. From there, perform a quick jump across the gap to reach a Buccaneers' Chest, which can supply you with Copper Bullets, Iron Bullets, and Homemade Gunpowder.
  • The Top Platform: Locate the wooden ladder propped against the main building and climb all the way to the top. Up here, you can search a second Old Skeleton to gather some excellent bonuses, such as a Sturdy Rapier, Minor Healing Potions, or Elixirs of Precision.

Once you have gathered all the pages and components, you'll be fully prepared for the next exciting step in your Buccaneer adventure!

The Delivery Nobody Wanted to Make

Report to Henri Boucher at the Rogue Buccaneers Main Base

With the Broken Musket, Damaged Flask, and both diary pages in your hold, you now have the distinct pleasure of sailing to the Rogue Buccaneers Main Base on a remote island to personally inform Henri Boucher that his brother Marcel and every member of his hunting party are dead. Pirates attacked, they were forced to hide in the jungle, and the jungle apparently won. You are bringing the evidence. You will hand over the Broken Musket as proof. Henri will process his grief in approximately four lines of dialogue and then immediately commission you to commit violence on his behalf. Emotional efficiency at its finest.

Do Not Skip This You cannot progress the quest without the Broken Musket in your inventory. Sailing to Henri empty-handed is a waste of fuel and a test of what level of personal failure you are comfortable with.

The Windrose Henri Boucher location is fixed at the Main Base. Follow the quest marker. He will not have wandered off to find closure on a beach somewhere. The conversation triggers automatically when you interact with him. Hand over the musket when prompted. Do not linger hoping for a cutscene that honors the gravity of the moment: this is a pirate survival game, and grief is a mechanic here, not a theme.

The Return

Report Back to Henri Boucher

Sail back to the Rogue Buccaneers Main Base. Speak with Henri. He will confirm that justice has been served: or vengeance, which in this world are the same thing wearing different hats. The quest closes. Your rewards arrive. You have earned 200 faction reputation with the Rogue Buccaneers reputation points system and the Buccaneer's Friend item, which sits in your inventory as a quiet trophy of what you were willing to do for 200 numbers.

Why It Matters

Buccaneer's Friend

Item

Granted on quest completion. No further conditions. No betrayal. Allegedly.

200 Rogue Buccaneers Reputation

Faction XP

Higher standing unlocks better weapons, ship gear, and building blueprints from Buccaneer vendors. This is the real prize.

Optional Campsite Loot

Variable

Rapier, Homemade Gunpowder, Healing Potions, Copper/Iron Bullets, Fast Travel Bell, Elixirs of Precision. You find these or you don't.

Naval Combat Experience

Intangible

Three ships' worth of practice with the combat system before the game starts demanding real competence.

The 200 reputation feeds directly into the Windrose faction reputation system, which operates as follows: you accumulate Insignias by looting and killing, hand them to the Bounty Agent at Tortuga, and slowly unlock access to better goods at the faction Provisioner. Letters of Favor: earned through quests like this one: are worth 10 reputation points each and represent the fastest legal method of climbing faction standing. Completing Glorious Hunters places you measurably ahead of anyone who decided the main campaign was sufficient and faction quests were optional. It is not a large gap, but it is a real one, and it will show up the moment you want to buy something decent.

Practical Observations for the Functionally Stubborn

  • Loot every single campsite chest before sailing anywhere. The Broken Musket is non-negotiable for Henri's dialogue. You cannot improvise a substitute.
  • Use your axe on the blocked crate entrance at the Warehouse. The Supply Cache behind it may contain a Fast Travel Bell, which is worth more than most of what you'll find elsewhere at this level.
  • Healing Potions are not optional at level 3. The boars charge hard. Bring at least three. You will use two of them on the first camp out of stubbornness.
  • The three pirate ships are tracked on your minimap. Engage them one at a time if they are clustered. Engaging multiples simultaneously is a tutorial in how quickly cannonballs add up.
  • This quest is one of the best early Windrose early game tips available. Do not defer it. The 200 rep unlocks gear that makes every subsequent fight faster and less painful.
  • Co-op players: split the camp exploration. One person per ruin cuts the travel time in half. The boars don't scale to four players, and at that point it's simply bullying, which may or may not be why you bought this game.
  • Windrose is a PvE survival pirate game: there is no PvP. The only person who can ruin your run is you. Take your time at the campsites and be thorough.

Windrose Glorious Hunters Quest Complete Guide FAQ

What level do I need to start the Glorious Hunters quest in Windrose?

The quest becomes available at level 3, but level 4 makes the boar fights and ship combat noticeably less humiliating for everyone involved.

Do I need to visit all three Buccaneer campsites to complete the quest?

No, but the Broken Musket and diary pages are split across camps. Miss those and Henri's conversation simply will not advance. Visit all three anyway.

What are the rewards for completing Glorious Hunters?

One Buccaneer's Friend item and 200 Rogue Buccaneers reputation: both legitimately useful for unlocking better gear and vendor dialogue early on.

Can I complete this quest in co-op with friends in Windrose?

Yes. Windrose supports up to four-player co-op. Splitting campsites between players cuts exploration time significantly and makes the boars look embarrassing.

How do the Rogue Buccaneers reputation points work after the quest?

Hand Insignias and Letters of Favor to the Bounty Agent at Tortuga. Higher standing gradually unlocks gear tiers and building blueprints at their Provisioner vendor.
