Windrose Buried Treasure: All Locations & Shovel Guide
The Traveler's Camp in Windrose hides a second chest underground. No bug. No glitch. Just a red cloth on a tree, a shovel you forgot to craft, and loo
It is incredibly easy to overlook hidden secrets in Windrose, so please don't worry if you missed this one at first! While the first chest is sitting right out in the open in front of the tent, Traveler's Camp actually contains two chests in total.
Be sure to use the promo code CRINGEBLOG! Rest assured, just like this guide, it won't let you down and is sure to live up to all your expectations. ^_^
If you are looking to fully clear the camp, here is a quick and helpful guide to finding that second treasure.
Inside the first chest, you will find a helpful note titled "Twist of Fancy." This note provides the key hint needed to locate the rest of the camp's loot.
Following the note's clues, head just west of the camp. Look for a tall, whitish tree stump that has a distinctive red cloth tied around it. The bright red scarf makes it stand out quite clearly from the surrounding area. The buried treasure is located right beneath it!
To retrieve the treasure, you will need to use a Shovel. If you don't have one just yet, it simply means you need to complete a bit more of the game's progression first.
To help you get equipped and wrap up this area, here is a straightforward breakdown of how to obtain your shovel and progress forward:

Once you have crafted your Shovel, go ahead and equip it! The Shovel features four different modes: Weapon, Dig, Raise, and Flatten.
To find the treasure, you will want to select Dig mode. You can easily cycle through these options by pressing X (or Z, depending on your custom keybindings). Just keep in mind that swinging the shovel in Weapon mode won't uncover the hidden chest, so switching to Dig mode is the key.
When you see an orange circle appear on the ground, you will know you are in the perfect spot. If you see sparkles, you are just seconds away from uncovering your rewards!
The location of the red scarf tree in Windrose is fixed and always stays in the exact same spot. If you're having trouble tracking it down, here is a straightforward path to finding it quickly:
📌 Note on Rewards: While the chest itself is always in the same place, the loot inside is completely randomized. One player might find Homemade Gunpowder and Healing Potions, while another might get Elixirs and a Gold Temple Jug. Your haul will be entirely unique to your run!
Because this treasure is so well hidden, it is very common for players to run into a bit of trouble. If the chest isn't appearing for you, double-check these quick tips:
If you suspect the area might be bugged, going through this quick checklist usually clears things right up and gets you your treasure in no time! Happy hunting!

No. It is buried underground. You need a Shovel in Dig mode. The chest has never been bugged. Your approach has been.
West of the camp on the first island: a tall whitish stump with red cloth. Far easier to spot during daytime.
Smelt your first Copper Ore into a Copper Bar. The recipe unlocks automatically at your Workbench. No quest required.
Two clicks deep. If nothing appears after two digs, shift your angle around the tree and try again nearby.
Yes. Looting both chests marks the camp with a check indicator on your map. One chest alone does not clear it.
