WoW Midnight Trader's Tender Farm Guide

The Trader's Tender system operates on Travel Points, not Tender directly. Completing activities fills a progress bar inside the Traveler's Log (Adventure Guide, default Shift+J). Every 200 Travel Points of bar progress deposits 100 Trader's Tender into your Collector's Cache. Fill the entire 1,000-point bar and you collect the full 500 Tender plus the month's bonus cosmetic reward.

Travel Points and Trader's Tender are not the same thing. A 200-point activity gives you 100 Tender, eventually. A 50-point activity is worth 25 Tender. Every point counts, but only once per month. The bar resets on the first of every month; your Tender does not. Unspent Tender accumulates indefinitely.

Account-wide. All activities, all points, all Tender are shared across every character on your account. Playing an alt through the same activities earns nothing additional. The system does not reward your commitment to alts. Neither does anyone else.

These activities appear every month, regardless of theme or season. They are the backbone of the Traveler's Log. Combine enough of these and you will cap the bar without touching a single holiday event. The activity pool rotates the specific numbers required, but the categories below are consistent recurring fixtures. Point values reflect confirmed historical data from multiple months.

Pet Battle Activities

Pet battles are the most criminally efficient activity in the Traveler's Log. Level 1 wild pets spawn outside every capital city. You can defeat them with a level-capped pet in seconds. Win 15 battles in under 10 minutes. The Tender-per-minute ratio makes PvP and M+ look like charity work.

Pet Battle Efficiency Tip: Level 1 wild pets outside capital cities die in one move from any capped pet and respawn in approximately 5 seconds. You can grind 15 wins in 8–12 minutes. If you have a strong pet team, this is consistently the highest Travel Points per real-world minute in the entire log. Do it first. Do it every month. Never question it.

World Content Activities

These activities are loosely tied to the current expansion's outdoor content. Specific zone names shift with each patch, but the activity types are stable fixtures in the log.

Holiday & Seasonal Event Activities

Holiday events are where the Traveler's Log becomes either delightful or infuriating depending on your tolerance for seasonal content. During any active holiday, completing its objectives almost always counts toward the log. Many holiday activities also double-dip into the general quest and world-content tallies, making active holiday weeks the single most efficient farming period each month.

Double-dip principle: Holiday quests count as regular quests. Holiday world quests count as world quests. If a holiday is active, complete its objectives first: they are doing two jobs at once.

Darkmoon Faire (First week of every month)

Timewalking Events

Timewalking events cycle weekly throughout the year. When a Timewalking event is active in a given month, the Traveler's Log adds a dedicated activity block for it. Completing Timewalking activities during the event window is efficient because a single dungeon run contributes to both the Timewalking weekly quest and the Traveler's Log simultaneously.

Key fact: Any Timewalking dungeon boss kill also contributes to the general "Defeat X Dungeon Bosses" objective in the log. Timewalking is triple-dipping: it fills the Timewalking activity, the dungeon boss count, and the weekly Timewalking quest.

Blizzard runs Dragonriding (now Sky Riding) Cup events for various continents throughout the year. When one is active, the Traveler's Log adds a dedicated racing block. These are some of the most time-efficient activities for players comfortable with the sky riding controls.

Racing tip: You do not need to win or set records. Completing a course at any speed counts. If a cup event is active during your month, 20 quick laps is 450 Travel Points. That is nearly half the bar from one activity type.

Final Surge Activities

The Final Surge is active during the last week of every month (typically the last 7 days). A new set of high-point activities unlocks during this window. These are designed for players who are behind on their bar. They are not subtle about it. If you have been ignoring the Traveler's Log for three weeks, this is your penance window.

Surge activities are time-gated. They unlock at the start of the Surge window and expire when the month ends. Do not discover the Surge exists on the last night of the month. The calendar does not negotiate.

Optimal Strategy: How to Hit 1,000 Points Every Month

Below is a realistic monthly plan for capping the Traveler's Log with minimal suffering. Adjust based on which activities are available in the current month's log (check in-game on the 1st of each month).

Day 1 of the Month

Log in. Click the Collector's Cache at any Trading Post. Collect 500 Trader's Tender. This takes less than two minutes and never gets easier to explain to non-players.
Open the Adventure Guide (Shift+J) → Traveler's Log. Read every active objective. Plan which 4–6 activities will get you to 1,000 points this month.

Priority Order (Use This Every Month)

Holiday events first. If any holiday is active, do those objectives immediately. They double-count with general quests and world quests. A holiday week can be worth 300–500 points on its own.
Pet battles immediately. Win 15 Pet Battles = 200 points in under 15 minutes against level 1 wild pets outside any capital city. No gear. No group. No skill required. Do this every single month without exception.
Darkmoon Faire if active. First week of every month. 5 Arcade Games (100pts) + Balloon trick (50pts) + any other Faire objective. 200+ points in 20 minutes.
Old raid farm. Defeat 25 Raid Bosses from old content takes roughly 30–45 minutes through Naxxramas + Ulduar + ICC or any combination of old raids. 250–300 points. You are farming mounts simultaneously. Acceptable.
World Quests. Play normally. Complete 5 World Quests per day in the current zone for 3–4 days = 50–200 points passively.
Timewalking if available. 300–400 points in one session. Triple-dips into general dungeon boss counts, the TW activity block, and the TW weekly quest.
Final Surge fallback. If you are below 800 points going into the last week, run 5 dungeons (150pts) + 15 quests (150pts) = 300 points. You are back in business. You are also the reason this system exists.

What to Ignore

Auction House gold farming (buggy, unreliable, specific collection methods required: skip unless it is the only option left).
Emote-only objectives worth 10–25 points each unless you have already done everything else. Collecting fifteen 10-point emotes is not a strategy. It is a cry for help.
Activities requiring group content you have no access to this month. 1,000 points is achievable through solo content if you pick the right activities.

Freeze Slot & Spending Strategy

One freeze slot per month. Drag a single item from the Trading Post interface into the freeze slot and it remains available past the monthly rotation until you purchase it or replace it with a different frozen item. Frozen items do not expire. Your Tender does not expire. The strategy is straightforward: freeze what you cannot yet afford, accumulate Tender over 2–3 months, return and purchase. The only enemy is impatience.

Freezing replaces. If you freeze Item A and then freeze Item B, Item A returns to the standard rotation and may rotate out next month. One slot. One item. One decision. Make it on purpose.

Refund window: items purchased at the Trading Post can be returned within 2 hours for a 100% Tender refund. This window exists for regret. Use it.

Trading Post Enthusiast Achievement

Complete the full Traveler's Log bar (earning the monthly bonus cosmetic reward) 12 times: not necessarily consecutively: and unlock the Trading Post Enthusiast achievement. The reward is the Ensemble: Burden of Unrelenting Justice, a color-shifting Warden-style transmog set. It transitions between gold-and-green during the day and silver-and-white at night. Completing the achievement also grants 500 bonus Trader's Tender.

Players who completed this prior to Patch 10.2.5 received the static day and night variants of the set retroactively on next login. Those completing it now receive all three sets simultaneously.

The tracker counts monthly bonus reward collections, not bar completions in general. You must reach 100% bar completion to earn the monthly bonus item, which is what counts toward the 12-completion achievement. Filling the bar to 80% is not 80% of a count. It is nothing. Finish the bar.
