WoW Midnight Sunkiller Sanctum Delve Guide
Ready to print gold in WoW Midnight? Our Enchanting 1-100 guide covers fast leveling, optimal KP builds & top market tips!
Enchanting in Midnight is legitimately one of the most profitable professions at launch, has zero dependency on gathering (you just need other people's garbage gear to disenchant), and gives you access to new Helm and Shoulder enchants that every BiS list will require. You also get Glamours, which are cosmetic transformations, because apparently we needed more ways for players to not look like their characters. The game is wide open. The dust awaits.
Enchanting in Midnight uses a clean three-tier material hierarchy. Unlike herbalists who have to run around picking flowers, you get your mats by destroying other people's hard-earned gear for them. The disenchanting pipeline: Epics give Dawn Crystal, Rares give Radiant Shard, Greens give Eversinging Dust. Then shattering lets you convert down: 1 Crystal → 3+ Shards, 1 Shard → 3+ Dust. This downward conversion was available from Day 1 (unlike The War Within), which means the economy isn't completely broken at launch. Probably.

The Value Chain (Available Day 1)
Dawn Crystal → Dawn Shatter → 3+ Radiant Shard
Radiant Shard → Radiant Shatter → 3+ Eversinging Dust
This means 1 Dawn Crystal reliably converts to 9+ Eversinging Dust. The War Within situation where dust was worth more than epic crystals will NOT repeat. Crystal stays valuable all expansion.

Note: 62–100 depends heavily on your spec choices, AH prices, and available recipes. The main variables are weapon enchant mats. Budget accordingly: this is officially the most expensive profession to level in Midnight.

Enchanting is legitimately the most expensive profession to level in Midnight. There is no way around this. You will spend gold, ideally the gold of your enemies or a very supportive guild. The good news: you get most materials back by disenchanting what you craft, so the net cost is lower than it looks. The better news: First Craft bonuses give KP for almost everything you make along the way.
Buy a full stack of Enchanting Vellum from Lyna. Set Vellum as the Optional Target in your profession window: you won't have to click it manually each craft. Sell your leveling enchants on the AH; you'll recoup at least some of this.
Blood Elf: +5 Enchanting skill (Arcane Affinity). Recipes stay orange longer = fewer wasted crafts.
Kul Tiran: +2 Enchanting skill (Jack of All Trades). Smaller bonus but still saves a few crafts.
Craft Runed Rods → Disenchant
30x Runed Refulgent Copper Rod• 30x Refulgent Copper Rod (buy Lyna)• 150x Eversinging Dust Disenchant all 30 crafted rods: get ~75 dust back If not at 25 after, craft 1x Enchant Helm - Rune of Avoidance or 1x Thalassian Phoenix Oil

Option A: Spam Enchant Ring - Amani Mastery until 70 • Fast but harder to sell excess Option B: Mix ring + shoulder + helm enchants • Lower per-craft cost, more sellable 1x Enchant Weapon - Worldsoul Aegis (Trainer 55): 3 skill-ups possible
Spec into Recipes + Weapon Enchants
By now, choose your spec (see Spec section) Weapon enchants are the only orange recipes left Continue crafting whatever is cheapest/sellable from your spec Sell everything. Recoup costs. Become profitable.
There's no single optimal path for the 62–100 bracket. It depends on AH prices, which vendor recipes you've unlocked (need Renown 5 for the best ones), and your spec choices. Craft a mix of ring, helm, shoulder enchants and list them: see what sells best on your realm before committing to spamming a single recipe.
Midnight has six enchantable armor slots plus rings and profession tools. Compared to The War Within, you lost Back and Bracers, but gained Helm and Shoulders. Net result: same number of slots, but different distribution, and the new slots give tertiary stats + on-kill effects that make them genuinely interesting for world content and M+.

Enchanting has four specialization trees in Midnight. They unlock at skill levels 25, 50, 60, and 75: so don't panic about picking one immediately on Day 1. You'll have all four available by skill 75, and what matters is where you spend your Knowledge Points, not when you technically unlock the tree.
You can get ~60–70 KP on Day 1 from first crafts and treasures, plus a few more from Renown books. After that, expect ~17 KP per week from weekly quests, disenchanting drops, and treatises. Plan your first 60-70 points carefully: they define your first month.
Unlocks at: Skill 25 (first unlock)
The main event. All gear enchants organized by faction theme (Thalassian, Amani, Haranir). Includes profession tool enchants. Investing here directly increases the quality of enchants you craft in each sub-tree. This is where most gold comes from. Pick 1–2 faction sub-specs to focus on.
Unlocks at: Skill 50
Mana Oils, Combat Wands, Enchanting Rod, Temporary Illusions. Best if you want to sell oils or optimize your own crafting rod. Oil of Dawn is gated here. Also unlocks the Blue rod recipe (Runed Brilliant Silver Rod).
Unlocks at: Skill 60
Better materials when you disenchant gear. Best for personal use and BoP gear disenchanting. Sub-trees: Shard Supplier (mass rare disenchant) and Crystal Collector (epic gear). Great for alt armies running M+ and Delves.
Unlocks at: Skill 75
Crafting stats: Resourcefulness (save materials), Ingenuity (better quality from lower mats). The Responsible Resources sub-node is key for reducing craft costs. This is your efficiency multiplier once you're established.

KP is the long-term specialization progression currency. Unlike skill, which levels through crafting, KP defines how efficient and profitable your Enchanting becomes over months. Enchanters have a unique KP system: instead of a Crafting Orders quest like other professions, they earn KP through disenchanting gear. Do not overlook this.

After completing all your weekly tasks, continued disenchanting will drop Glimmering Powder (+1 KP per drop, no weekly cap) proportional to how far behind the current KP maximum you are. Approximate drop rates: Greens ~10%, Blues ~50%, Epics 100%.
Glimmering Powder only starts dropping AFTER you complete all three weekly tasks: (1) trainer weekly quest, (2) disenchant enough for the Swirling Arcane Essence + Brimming Mana Shard drops, (3) loot the 2 weekly zone drops. All three must be done first.
You earn Artisan Enchanter's Moxie through crafting and disenchanting. Use it to buy the Renown Book (+10 KP), or the Event Book (+10 KP). Do not vendor this currency. It is not vendor trash. Stop.
There are 8 Enchanting-specific treasures across the Midnight zones. Each gives 3 KP for a total of 24 KP: entirely free, one-time per character. Collect them all on the first day of the expansion. This is the single best KP investment you can make in the first hour.
Addon Recommendation
Install Myu's Knowledge Points Tracker addon: it was converted to an in-game addon for Midnight and tracks all weekly + one-time KP sources automatically, including treasure locations with map pins.

Enchanters use a Rod as their main tool, plus a Hat (from Tailoring) and a Focusing Crystal (from Jewelcrafting). In Midnight, every profession now has Epic-quality accessories: Enchanting is no longer uniquely special in this regard. The key thing to remember: Epic and Rare tools give the same Skill bonus. Epic only wins on secondary stats (Resourcefulness, Ingenuity, Multicraft). Rare is perfectly fine for reaching max quality.

Let's cut to it. You're here because Enchanting is one of the most consistent gold-making professions in WoW, requires zero gathering, benefits from every other player's gear upgrades, and scales with the raiding tier cycle. Every time a new patch drops and raiders replace their weapons, they need new enchants. You are the enchant dealer. You are essential.
|
Timeframe |
Best Enchants to Sell |
Why |
Strategy |
|
Launch Week |
Ring (all stats), Weapon enchants (once you have recipes), Helm/Shoulder enchants |
Everyone gearing up simultaneously. Demand spikes. Prices are 3–5× what they'll be in a month. |
Craft everything. List in stacks of 1 and stacks of 5. Check AH every hour. Undercut minimally. Gold printer goes brrr. |
|
First Month |
Weapon enchants (check BiS lists), Ring enchants with best secondary for current tier |
Raid progression drives demand for specific enchants. BiS lists solidify. |
Check Icy Veins + Wowhead BiS lists. Whatever stat is BiS for highest-population specs = sell that ring enchant. |
|
Mid-Expansion |
Weapon enchants, Gold quality ring enchants via Concentration |
Base enchant prices drop as supply increases. Gold quality stays premium. |
Use Concentration on weapon enchants. Let competitors undercut Silver quality. You corner the Gold quality market. |
|
Late Expansion |
New patch enchants, Delves gear farm → disenchant materials |
New tier = new enchants everyone needs. Also raw materials from new gear deflates. |
Maintain one or two focus enchants. Farm Delves for gear to disenchant into materials. |
In your profession window, set Enchanting Vellum as the Optional Target. This means every enchant you craft goes on a vellum automatically and becomes tradeable on the AH. People will literally pay 20–30% more for an enchanted vellum vs having to invite an enchanter to their group. Buy vellum in bulk from Lyna. Never run out.
Concentration is a limited daily resource that guarantees Gold quality on any craft. Once you spec into enough Ingenuity, you can use lower-quality mats and still hit Gold quality using Concentration. The "Concentration Build" spec (Infinite Ingenuity + related nodes) lets you craft one or two Gold quality enchants per day with minimal material cost: then sell them at a premium. This is the "lazy but smart" gold strategy.
Given that Midnight is set in Silvermoon and is heavily Blood Elf themed, playing a Blood Elf Enchanter is also the most lore-appropriate decision you can make. But no pressure.

Because your leveling materials come from disenchanting gear or buying dust/shards on the AH: both of which cost real gold. Unlike Herbalism or Mining where you just walk around picking up stuff for free, Enchanting's cost floor is real. The good news: you can offset a significant chunk by selling your leveling enchants on Vellum. You won't break even, but you'll reduce the bleeding.
Blizzard removed them and replaced them with Helm and Shoulder slots. Helm/Shoulder give tertiary stats plus on-kill effects (Empowered versions), which are more interesting design than "+15 Agility to your cloak." Don't spec for slots that don't exist. Yes, there was probably someone who learned this the hard way on Day 1.
Theoretically, yes: if you run enough dungeons, Delves, and quests to disenchant your own drops into materials. In practice, this will take you significantly longer than buying dust from the AH, and time is a resource. The leveling guide assumes AH access. If you're server-first rushing, buy what you need.
Wait until around skill 60. You unlock three specializations by skill 60 and the fourth at 75, so there's no reason to commit before then. More importantly, AH data in the first few days of the expansion will tell you which enchants are selling best on your server: spec into those enchant categories. Don't spec based on theory, spec based on real gold.
Empowered versions of Helm/Shoulder enchants give the same base tertiary stat plus an additional proc effect that triggers when you kill enemies outdoors. For M+ and raids, the proc rarely fires: the base stat is what matters. For world content, leveling, and outdoor grinding, the Empowered version is noticeably better. BiS lists typically call for Empowered versions even if the proc rarely fires, simply because the stat floor is the same. They come from Delve trunk drops, not trainers.
If you plan to Enchanting seriously for gold, yes. The loop is: Tailor crafts cheap gear → you disenchant it → you get Eversinging Dust for free (roughly). The material cost of Tailoring's cheap green gear is lower than buying the equivalent dust on the AH after a few weeks in the expansion. It requires managing two profession caps, but two-profession synergy characters are genuinely how the top AH players print gold in modern WoW.
You can skip anything. You can also skip breathing for a while and see how that goes. Darkmoon Faire is once a month, takes 10 minutes, gives 3 KP and +2 Skill. The profession quest is from Sayge and is called "Writing the Future." Put a calendar reminder. Skip it and watch someone else hit their KP cap a month before you.
It's in Atal'Aman, which is a subzone of Zul'Aman that may be phased behind campaign quest progress. If it's not visible, continue the zone story quest chain until the area opens up. This is a Midnight-specific annoyance where phasing hides content that would otherwise be one-time collectibles. Progress the campaign and check again.
