WoW Midnight Leatherworking Guide 1–100
Brann is out, Valeera is in! Dive into the dangerous underworld of Quel'Thalas. Can you survive Nullaeus and conquer the Midnight Delves now?!
Brann retired. Valeera took the job. The Voidstorm took everything else. Here's how to survive the underground of Quel'Thalas: and why you absolutely will not skip this.
Congratulations. You hit 90, stared at the raid entrance for five minutes, realized your ilvl is still wearing TWW's feelings, and decided to go underground for a while. Smart. This WoW Midnight Delves guide exists because World of Warcraft Midnight expansion delves aren't just a casual side-dish anymore: they're a full Season 1 progression engine, and ignoring them is the PvE equivalent of showing up to a boss fight and alt-tabbing.
Brann Bronzebeard: your durable, beloved, occasionally unhinged expedition partner from The War Within: has retired. Taking his place is Valeera Sanguinar, legendary Blood Elf Rogue and person who absolutely does not need your help but will tolerate your presence. She lives at the Delver's Headquarters in Silvermoon City. Go find her before you enter anything. This guide covers everything: the 11 Delves, the nemesis, the loot, the currency, the mounts, and the part where you solo a Void horror for a golem.
Before diving into the full WoW Midnight delves walkthrough, here's the at-a-glance picture of what you're walking into. The World of Warcraft Midnight expansion delves ship with 11 total instances: 10 base plus one Nemesis Delve: spread across four zones and playable solo or in groups up to 5. Whether you're interested in WoW Midnight delves solo gameplay or running with a premade, the system scales for World of Warcraft Voidspire raid.

The Delver's Headquarters is in Silvermoon City: specifically The Bazaar. This is where your entire Delve operation lives. Before you enter a single hole in the ground, go here first. It is not optional.
At the HQ you'll find:
Tip: Use the Beacon of Hope (5,000 Undercoins, sold by Naleidea Rivergleam) to summon Nullaeus into a regular Delve after reaching the checkpoint. You get your weekly Delver's Bounty this way without entering Torment's Rise. Free loot. Use it.
Curios are special items that drop from end-of-Delve chests and augment Valeera's kit. They have 4 ranks (Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic), obtained by looting higher ranks from higher-tier Delves. Getting all curios to rank 4 earns Curio Fanatic: Midnight. The confirmed Season 1 curios include the World of Warcraft Dreamrift carry:
|
Curio |
Type |
Effect |
|
Holy Bounding Hand Grenade |
Combat |
Chance to throw a grenade that deals Holy damage and has 50–100% chance to stun for 1.5 sec; can bounce to new targets (and safely to party members) |
|
Mantle of Stars |
Combat |
When any party member drops below 40% health, grants a 50% max HP absorb shield; knocks up and deals 25% increased damage to nearby enemies for 12 sec (2 min CD) |
|
Mandate of Sacred Death |
Combat |
Valeera's Tools of the Trade grants party members 8% chance to deal bonus Holy damage per Mandate stack; can execute non-boss enemies |
|
Motionless Nulltide |
Utility |
Standing still stacks Cosmic Momentum (up to 20 stacks): jump to convert to Haste and knock up enemies |
|
Overflowing Voidspire |
Utility |
After 25 sec of combat, Valeera and party deal 18% more damage and healing for 35 sec (35 sec CD) |
|
Time Lost Edict |
Utility |
Chance to create a sanctified area at a party member's location that warps time and combat |
Best curio combo for most specs: Holy Bounding Hand Grenade (Combat) + Overflowing Voidspire (Utility). The grenade provides constant crowd control, and Overflowing Voidspire stacks into a meaningful damage/healing window for higher-tier boss encounters. Adjust based on whether you need the sustain (Mantle of Stars) over the CC (Grenade) for your class at high tiers

Midnight launches with 10 Delves immediately available (Tiers 1–7 in Early Access, full tier range from Season 1 start), plus The Darkway and Parhelion Plaza arriving March 24 and 31 respectively. Torment's Rise is the Nemesis Delve: unique, harder, and covered separately in World of Warcraft March on Quel'Danas carry.

Notes |
|
The Shadow Enclave |
Silvermoon City / Eversong |
Shadow cultists, Shadowguard Ethereals |
Launch |
Classic corridor format. Sabotage objectives involving Leyline Focusers. Final boss: Nightborne collaborator. Some of the best environmental lore if you care about Silvermoon's seedy underbelly. |
|
Collegiate Calamity |
Silvermoon City / Eversong |
Rogue mages, unstable arcane experiments |
Launch |
"Safely dispose of unstable explosives being stockpiled in the sewers." A reasonable request from completely reasonable people in a completely normal city. |
|
The Grudge Pit |
Zul'Aman |
Amani trolls, grudge rituals |
Launch |
Zul'Aman's vendetta culture turned into a delve. High enemy density. Good for classes with AoE self-sustain. |
|
Twilight Crypts |
Zul'Aman (southwest, near Broken Throne) |
Twilight's Blade, Witherbark trolls, necromantic experiments |
Launch |
3 variants. Mechanic: Spear Traps blocking routes: flip levers to clear them. Boss: Blademaster Darza: frontal cone (Shade Cleave) and room-control circles (Bask in Twilight). Hug her to avoid the charge, move around the edges during Bask. Optional extra action button: disguise as a pot for 4 sec immunity. The pot is not a metaphor. |
|
Atal'Aman |
Zul'Aman (east, near Eversong border) |
Vilebranch trolls, defiled Amani shrines |
Launch |
3 variants. Objectives involve freeing imprisoned Loa by destroying Cursed Totems. Boss: Spiritflayer Jin'Ma: Flaying Knife spawns spirits you want to collect for a 10% damage buff each; delay collection to chain the buff. Raging Spirits creates damage zones: collect buffed spirits before they're caught in them. Also features Akil'zon's defiled shrine: a lore beat with teeth. |
|
The Gulf of Memory |
Harandar |
Void-touched entities, ancient Harandar memory constructs |
Launch |
One of two outdoor Delves where ground mounts work between objectives. Slower pace, larger layout. Excellent for avoiding the corridor fatigue of the rest of the roster. |
|
Sunkiller Sanctum |
Harandar |
Void cultists targeting Harandar's rootways |
Launch |
Second outdoor Delve. Same ground-mount quality-of-life applies. Connects to the Harandar campaign themes of the Rift of Aln and dream-reality overlap. Also connects to "I'm farming Vivacious Chloroceros" energy. |
|
Shadowguard Point |
Voidstorm |
Shadowguard Ethereals, Void operatives |
Launch |
Your main objective: disrupt Shadowguard Ethereal operations. Translation: things that were definitely not operating before you showed up are now definitely not operating anymore. Punishes sloppy kick discipline more than most Delves. |
|
The Darkway |
Voidstorm |
Devouring Host entities, Void infrastructure |
Mar 24 |
Arrives week 2 of Season 1. Presumably dark. Presumably a way. Has a checkpoint that actually functions as a meaningful dividing line between the easy part and the "why did I come here" part. |
|
Parhelion Plaza |
Eversong / Silvermoon outskirts |
Twilight's Blade, solar-themed corruption |
Mar 31 |
Last Delve to drop. Named after the atmospheric optical phenomenon. Blizzard's art team is feeling poetic. You are feeling like you've been waiting a month. |
|
Torment's Rise |
Voidstorm |
Nullaeus, Season 1 Nemesis |
Nemesis (T8+ req) |
The Nemesis Delve. Requires Tier 8 minimum for My Shady Nemesis, Tier 11 for the solo kill achievements. See Section 8. This is not a casual run. This is an audit. |

Understanding WoW Midnight delves difficulty levels is the foundation of any smart gearing plan. Delves have 11 tiers. They unlock progressively through the season: not all at once. The staggered unlocks are tied to Season 1's progression pacing, not cruelty. The meaningful checkpoints are Tier 4 (Pactsworn enemies appear), Tier 8 (loot cap: the core target of every WoW Midnight delves gearing strategy), and Tier 11 (solo achievement content for the truly committed).

Recommendation |
Loot Quality |
Life Pool? |
|
Tier 1–3 |
Comfort zone. Entry-level gear. Good for learning routes. |
Veteran track |
No |
|
Tier 4–7 |
Real content. Pactsworn prefix enemies appear at Tier 4+ (stronger mobs tied to Nullaeus). Start tracking your defensive CD usage here. |
Champion track |
Limited |
|
Tier 8 |
Gear cap. Target tier for weekly optimization. Max reward scaling on loot. Great Vault credit peaks. Be here. |
Hero track (cap) |
Yes: plays conservatively |
|
Tier 9–10 |
Beyond gear scaling. Seasonal progression materials only. Do these if you're chasing achievements or Delver's Journey ranks. |
Hero track (same) |
Yes: punishing |
|
Tier 11 |
Maximum difficulty. Unlocks the Lighting the Dark and Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus achievements. Required for the solo kill of Nullaeus. Maximum seasonal progression materials. |
Hero track (same) |
Yes: brutal |
Rule of thumb: Stabilize at Tier 8 first. The gear stops scaling above Tier 8: everything above it is for achievements, titles, seasonal currency, and bragging rights. Don't push Tier 11 before you're consistent at Tier 8. The Void does not reward ambition that hasn't done its homework.
Bountiful Delves are the most important part of any WoW Midnight delves gearing strategy. Full stop. They rotate daily (check the Delver's Guide at The Bazaar), have a glowing entrance icon on the map when active, and provide significantly better WoW Midnight delves rewards than regular runs: including the chests at the end where your Restored Coffer Key actually matters.
Routing tip: Check the Delver's Guide for today's Bountiful Delves, then chain the closest entrance locations. Dead travel time between Delves is invisible time loss that compounds over dozens of runs into hours. Use the map. Silvermoon's skyriding is your friend until you're at the World of Warcraft Sporefall carry.

In The War Within, Coffer Keys lived in your bags and stole inventory space. Blizzard fixed this in Midnight. They're now a currency system. The bags of Azeroth exhale a collective sigh of relief.

|
Easy to forget, easy to lose |
Tracked in currency tab, not inventory |
|
One key, one chest |
Same function: opens high-loot treasure chest at the end of Bountiful runs |
Use your Restored Coffer Keys on Tier 8+ Bountiful Delves. Spending a key on a Tier 3 run is not technically a crime, but it should be.
Nullaeus is Midnight Season 1's Delve Nemesis: your Zekvir, your Ky'veza, the person Valeera looks at across the room and says "oh, it's you." He is fought in Torment's Rise in the Voidstorm zone and is built specifically for WoW Midnight delves solo gameplay. He is not a regular Delve boss. He is a test of everything you have learned from every previous run, delivered with maximum Void condescension.
How to Access Nullaeus

At Tier 4+, Nullaeus begins appearing as a passive threat throughout regular Delves. Mobs with the Pactsworn prefix are his agents: stronger than base mobs, drop better loot in the Nemesis Strongbox at end of run, and are marked on your minimap with gray helm icons. Killing them upgrades your chest rewards. Do not skip them on World of Warcraft dungeons.

The Delver's Journey is your Delve-specific progression track. It has 10 ranks and is where Midnight's Delve meta-progression lives: boons, blessings, vendor unlocks, and the late-season Tier 11 content all gate through it. Access it via the Delver's Guide at The Bazaar in Silvermoon.

Boons and Blessings are temporary stat buffs you accumulate and use during Delve runs. They replace the old Brann-era passive buffs and are unlocked through the Delver's Journey track.
This section covers the full WoW Midnight delves loot table: gear tracks, currency sources, and mounts. The short version: Tier 8 is the gear ceiling, the Great Vault needs 8 completions per week for max credit, and the mount grind runs through Undercoin. The WoW Midnight delves rewards system is generous by design: it just requires you to actually show up.

The Great Vault has three world activity slots. Delve completions fill these. Run 8 Tier-11 Delves in a week and your Great Vault world slots hit the max reward tier. The fastest path is stabilizing at Tier 8 and completing 8 Bountiful Delves per week before pushing World of Warcraft gearing boost.

Mount grind math: 10,000 Undercoin sounds like a lot until you realize consistent daily Bountiful Delves with the weekly quest will generate significant income. The bonus events accelerate this dramatically. Realistically, a focused player hitting 4 Bountiful Delves daily has the Elven Arcane Guardian within a few weeks without needing to sweat about it.
These are the habits that separate "I run Delves occasionally" from "I am extracting maximum Season 1 value from the system." They apply to every spec, every tier, and every approach to WoW Midnight delves solo gameplay: and they're the unglamorous part of this WoW Midnight Delves guide that nobody talks about because listing habits is less exciting than listing loot.
|
Principle |
What It Means in Practice |
|
Bountiful first, regular second |
Always check the Delver's Guide at the start of your session. Run Bountiful Delves before anything else. Regular runs fill Great Vault slots but don't give the high-value chest loot. |
|
Chain Blessings |
Blessings carry over to your next run. Run Delves consecutively, not in isolated sessions across days. The mechanic specifically rewards back-to-back play. |
|
Valeera's role matches your spec's gap |
DPS who can't sustain → Valeera Healer. Tanks lacking burst → Valeera DPS. Healers who need help with enemies → Valeera DPS. Squishiest cloth spec in existence → Valeera Tank. Update this at every checkpoint, not just at the entrance. |
|
Learn the Tier 8 routes cold |
Tier 8 is your weekly cap. The faster you can run Tier 8 Bountiful Delves without dying, the faster you gear. Treat your first few runs as reconnaissance, not speedruns. |
|
Spend Coffer Keys at Tier 8+ |
A Restored Coffer Key opens a high-loot chest. That chest scales with your Delve tier. Using a key at Tier 3 is a personal choice that hurts only you and your character's gear score. |
|
Collect Mislaid Curiosities |
Boons from Mislaid Curiosities are per-run stat buffs. Collecting them in the first half of a Delve makes the second half easier. Don't blow past them to "save time." |
|
Kill Pactsworn mobs |
At Tier 4+, Pactsworn enemies are on the minimap and upgrade your Nemesis Strongbox at end of run. More challenging than regular trash. Worth every second of the extra time. |
|
Gear Valeera by gearing yourself |
Valeera's damage and healing scale with your item level. Every ilvl upgrade is a Valeera buff. Getting gear from Delves makes future Delves faster. The loop is functional and intentional. |
|
Lives are limited resources |
At higher tiers, you have a limited life pool and dying reduces end reward quality. Spending a defensive early and surviving beats saving it "for later" and dying with it up. The Void taxes arrogance. |
|
Don't attempt solo Nullaeus before you're ready |
The Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus achievement requires Tier 11 to be unlocked on your character first. Get there through consistent Tier 8 farming, then push. Going in undergeared at Tier 11 to fight a Nemesis boss is not a character development arc: it's a corpse run. |
Final note: The Delver's Journey seasonal track, Bountiful rotations, Nullaeus weekly loot via Beacon of Hope, and Undercoin farming all compound over time. Players who treat Delves as a daily ritual from Season 1 day one will be in a structurally different gear position from those who show up in week 6 asking "wait, what's a World of Warcraft leveling?" Don't be week-six player.

Brann is out, Valeera is in! Dive into the dangerous underworld of Quel'Thalas. Can you survive Nullaeus and conquer the Midnight Delves now?!

Valeera Sanguinar has replaced Brann Bronzebeard. You can find her at the Delver's Headquarters located in The Bazaar within Silvermoon City.
Tier 8 is your target. Gear stops scaling after this tier (capping at the Hero track, 259 iLvl), and it provides the maximum credit for your Great Vault. Tiers 9 through 11 are strictly for seasonal progression materials, achievements, and prestige titles.
They are no longer items that take up bag space! They now drop as a currency called Coffer Key Shards, which automatically convert into Restored Coffer Keys when you enter a Bountiful Delve. You should save these keys exclusively for Tier 8+ Bountiful Delves to maximize your loot.
Bountiful Delves are rotating daily instances that offer significantly better rewards than regular runs. Completing them is the core engine for gearing up and farming Undercoin. You should aim to complete up to 4 of these per day.
Nullaeus is the Season 1 Nemesis. You can face him directly in his lair, Torment's Rise (requires Tier 8+), or you can summon him in a regular Delve using a Beacon of Hope (costs 5,000 Undercoin) to claim your weekly Delver's Bounty.
