Find the People of Tortuga in Windrose

It is completely understandable to feel a bit turned around when looking for the People of Tortuga faction! Even though their name points to the main social hub, their actual trading base is hidden on a completely separate island.

Be sure to use the promo code CRINGEBLOG! Rest assured, just like this guide, it won't let you down and is sure to live up to all your expectations. ^_^

If you are ready to track them down so you can start selling your provisions, here are the two best methods to find them.

Method 1: Open-Sea Exploration

As a general rule of thumb, the People of Tortuga hideout usually generates somewhere southwest of the main Tortuga hub.

Because Windrose features beautifully unique, procedurally generated maps, the exact location will be slightly different for every player. If you love the thrill of discovery, charting the waters southwest of Tortuga is a wonderful way to stumble upon their docks naturally!

Method 2: Following the Buccaneer Questline (Recommended)

If you prefer a guaranteed path with a direct map marker, you can easily unlock a waypoint to their base by helping out a neighboring faction first. Here is the step-by-step guide:

  1. Locate the Rogue Buccaneers: Head southwest from your initial starting island to find the Rogue Buccaneers' base.
  2. Start the "Buccaneers" Quest: Accept their introductory storyline quest, which will ask you to gather and turn in 50 bags of gunpowder.
  3. Meet Charlie Sharp: After delivering the gunpowder, the quest will update and ask you to deliver tanned hides to an NPC named Charlie Sharp.
  4. Follow the Waypoint: Charlie Sharp is a key representative for the People of Tortuga! The quest will place a direct waypoint on your map leading straight to him. This will guide you safely to their hidden base, where you can finally trade your Provisions and Medicine for a great payout.

Managing Your Faction Reputation

As you explore and complete quests, you will earn valuable Insignias and Letters of Favor to turn in to the game's four main factions. To help you keep track of where to go for each group, here is a quick reference table for their general locations and questlines

Faction Name

Location Details

People of Tortuga

Found by blindly following Charlie Sharp's waypoint.

Rogue Buccaneers

Southwest of your miserable starting beach.

Smugglers of Port Royal

If you survive this long, maybe you can track down the Windrose smugglers of port royal during the Underground Network quest. I sincerely doubt it.

Brethren of the Coast

They claim the waters around the Tortuga main base. Do not provoke them.
