Locating the Madman's Chest

Because Windrose uses procedural generation, your island's layout will be beautifully unique to your specific playthrough. However, tracking down the quest location is very straightforward if you follow these easy steps:

1. Open Your Journal: Press J to read the diary fragment. Doing this will activate a helpful blue map marker on your map and screen.
2. Follow the Marker: Travel to the designated location marked on your map.
3. Look for the Landmark: Once you arrive, look around for a cluster of scattered skeleton remains. The hidden chest is buried right in the center of this area.
4. Switch to Dig Mode: Equip your Shovel and press Z or X to safely switch it to Dig mode.
5. Find the Sweet Spot: Move around the center of the remains until the dig prompt appears on your screen.
6. Unearth the Chest: Dig into the ground, and the old chest will emerge!

Friendly Pro-Tip: Keep a close eye on the ground texture as you walk around the center of the skeleton cluster. The game will display lovely glimmering sparkles when you are standing directly over the buried chest. If you see them, you know you are in the perfect spot!
