Black Ops Royale: Ultimate Avalon Tactical Guide
Season 3 of Black Ops 7 drops April 2: remasters, a cold Zombies map, solo BR queue, and ranked events that'll end your self-esteem. You've been warne
You survived Season 2. You outlasted the mid-season update, fought through Paradox Junction with its post-nuke Nuketown aesthetic, and somehow didn't uninstall when solos still weren't in Black Ops Royale. Your reward? Season 3: dropping April 2, 2025, at 9:00 AM PT. No, it's not an April Fools joke, though the content roadmap might make you wonder.

How do we know this? The Battle Pass countdown timer. Not an official announcement. Not a press release. A timer. Treyarch could, in theory, have told people, but why communicate when you can make fans reverse-engineer a date from a progress bar? Truly the peak of community engagement.
The roadmap and blog post are expected around March 26: one week before launch, following the tradition of Activision drip-feeding just enough information to generate hype without accidentally promising something they have to deliver. Ranked play goes offline between March 31 and the Season 3 launch, which is Treyarch's way of saying "we need a breather too."
Reloaded: the mid-season update that will contain the actual zombies map everyone cares about: is currently targeting either May 7 or May 14. That's five or six weeks into the season. You are expected to find this acceptable.

Season 3's multiplayer map content is a masterclass in what Activision calls "heritage" and what the rest of us call "recycling." Here are the maps confirmed or strongly expected to arrive, each hand-selected from your childhood to monetize your feelings:
Expect two to three weapons in the Season 3 Battle Pass at launch, followed by another two to three spread across in-season events. Attachment kits and conversion blueprints will also show up, transforming weapons you already own into weapons you'll pretend are different.
Treyarch has confirmed the event structure is evolving from Season 3 onward. Leaderboard events are being scaled back: they'll now apply almost exclusively to ranked modes rather than every playlist simultaneously. In their place, expect:
The ranked play series leaderboard events: the final ones in their current format: run March 26–31. You'll be placed in a bracket of 50 players in your division. Hit top 5 or top 25 to earn a camel. After March 31, ranked goes dark until April 2. Build anticipation accordingly.
Also: 4/20 is approaching. Call of Duty takes this more seriously than Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, or Easter combined. Expect a re-skinned map, themed bundles, and some form of in-game event that will be discussed in hushed, reverent tones in the community. A crossover is possible. Do not ask what with.

After three maps: Ashes of the Damned at launch, Astra Malorum in Season 1, and Paradox Junction in Season 2: the zombies community has been told to wait again. Treyarch confirmed that starting with Paradox Junction, all future round-based maps drop at Reloaded, not season launch. You will wait six weeks into Season 3. You will be fine.
What do we actually know about DLC 3? A cutting-edge total of:
Since the round-based map doesn't arrive until Reloaded, Season 3 launch day for Zombies will likely include:
Treyarch is currently collecting community questions for a dev talk. Submit yours before it's too late and they answer four questions about weapon balance instead.

Endgame: BO7's Warzone-adjacent live PvE experience set in the city of Avalon: continues to evolve. Each major content drop has added something structurally different: world events, guild strike bosses, the exotic fabricator for upgrading weapons, and now Glitch Fracture levels that remove you from Avalon entirely into what can only be described as a different, angrier dimension. Season 3 is expected to continue this trend, though exactly how remains unconfirmed pending the roadmap reveal on March 26.
Community feedback has been submitted to the studio requesting an out-of-game stash system: a way to hold four to five exotic weapons across sessions rather than losing them the moment you decide to try something different. Currently, you can upgrade any weapon to exotic, but upgrading a second one means sacrificing the first. This is either intentional friction or spectacular oversight. Likely both.
The Avalon map itself is confirmed to receive visual and structural changes at Season 3 launch: different from both its current state and its in-game Endgame version. New POIs may be added, following the precedent set by the original Blackout. Whether any of these POIs will matter is a question for Week 3 content creators.
Black Ops Royale: the new battle royale mode that dropped alongside Season 2 Reloaded, inspired by the original Blackout: is still finding its footing. Here is what is confirmed or expected for Season 3:
