Arc Raiders 1.23.0 Overview
Riven Tides arrives April 28: ARC Raiders' biggest update yet brings a brand-new coastal map, a ruined beachfront hotel, a new large ARC threat, and f

Let's be responsible adults and separate confirmed information from community hallucinations. The new coastal map ARC Raiders is confirmed. Everything else exists on a spectrum between "strongly implied by concept art" and "one person on Reddit is very confident." Here is the breakdown.
Everything assembled from teasers, concept art leaks, newsletter breadcrumbs, and the kind of obsessive analysis that is technically a hobby:
|
Location / POI |
Status |
Notes |
|
Hotel Panorama Azzurro |
Confirmed |
Beachfront. Multi-level. Crumbling. Room 204 may require a key. Disco posters included at no extra charge. |
|
Tennis Courts |
Confirmed |
Scout pulled back to the tennis courts in Field Observation 001. Whether you can volley in them remains to be seen. |
|
Cargo Port / Docks |
Strongly Implied |
Referenced in in-game map changes. Crane key supports this. Bring your sea legs. |
|
Oil Rig Structure |
Concept Art |
Appears across multiple art pieces. Industrial-meets-sci-fi. Vertical gameplay potential. |
|
Submerged Rocket Wreck |
Concept Art |
Massive set piece. Possibly traversable interior. Definitely a sniper nest already in someone's head. |
|
Flooded Coastal City Ruins |
Concept Art |
Organic flower-like layout extending into water. Underground sections near waterline. Zip lines dreaming. |
|
Shoreline / Beach Terrain |
Confirmed (vague) |
It's a beach map. Sand exists. This is the most confirmed detail and also the least useful one. |
Every Escalation update has introduced a new ARC threat, and Riven Tides new ARC enemy promises to be the biggest: literally. The community has narrowed the suspects to two. The Emperor, which has been creeping closer to The Blue Gate through in-game narrative cues like a very slow and ominous chess piece. Or the Bishop, a spider-legged laser robot shown in pre-release development footage that has never made it into the live game, presumably because someone thought it was too much. It was not too much. Bring the Bishop.
Neither is confirmed. Embark will announce this at the last possible moment because suspense is free marketing. In the meantime, community speculation is running at full capacity, threads are long, and no one is sleeping well. The new enemy will likely be comparable in threat level to The Queen or The Matriarch: meaning it will kill you creatively and without remorse.
Players have complained that flying ARC enemies are now predictable and boring. Embark's response, historically, has been to introduce something that makes the old boring thing feel like a warm hug. Prepare accordingly.
The ARC Raiders lore Exodus Hotel thread is interesting because of one detail buried in the teasers: the hotel is called the "Exodus Hotel" in some references, and the Exodus event in ARC Raiders' canon is the moment humanity left Earth for space aboard the Arks. So the Exodus Hotel may have been a staging point: somewhere people stayed before leaving the planet forever. Which, architecturally, explains the grandeur. Which, existentially, explains the ruin.
The Italian name "Panorama Azzurro": translating roughly to "blue panorama": and the Italian text scattered through the in-game teasers place this firmly in what remains of the Mediterranean or Southern European coast. The Rust Belt, ARC Raiders' apocalyptic playground, has always been implied to be somewhere in Europe. The disco posters and tennis courts suggest this resort had a very specific 1980s peak-era before the world ended. It did not survive the world ending.
The ARC Raiders Riven Tides tips section of any guide written before the map launches is legally fiction. With that disclaimer squared away, here is what any reasonable player can extrapolate from the available evidence.
