Arc Raiders 1.23.0 Overview

To be absolutely fair: and fairness is deeply unpleasant, so let's get it over with quickly: Arc Raiders patch 1.23 arrives in a context that makes its smallness forgivable. The Flashpoint update dropped on March 31st, just one week prior, stuffing the game full of new enemies, weapons, and map conditions. Expecting another content tsunami seven days later would be the gaming-brain equivalent of demanding dessert before you've swallowed your entree. The weekly patch cadence is intentionally modest. Embark said so, explicitly, on their news page. You were warned. You simply chose not to believe them.

Patch 1.23.0 was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 7. Embark pushed it 24 hours without explanation. The studio offered no apology and no elaboration. This is fine. This is normal. Stop refreshing Discord.

The Vanguard Set

Here is the one thing that made the community collectively scream, share screenshots, and argue about shoes: the Vanguard Set. First teased during Arc Raiders Flashpoint update marketing material weeks ago, this cosmetic bundle has occupied rent-free space in players' heads ever since. Now it's here. You can buy it. With Raider Tokens. Which cost real money. You know how this works: you've done it before, you'll do it again, and you'll feel fine about it afterward because the jacket does look genuinely good.

Community reaction has been characteristically measured and restrained. One user on Reddit observed that "everybody about to look like this," a prediction almost certainly correct. Another offered the nuanced critique that it was "finally a skin worth buying": immediately tempered by the very reasonable concern that Embark might somehow attach crocs or high heels to the lower half and ruin everything. Embark's track record on cosmetics is actually solid: the studio promised early on to keep skins authentic to the game's universe and avoid bizarre third-party collaborations. The Vanguard Set is proof that promise still holds.

Bugs, Fixed

Embark has confirmed "a number of fixes," which is the corporate way of saying "we found things broken and addressed some of them." The full patch notes were not published ahead of the update's deployment: because why give players time to read and process information when you can simply deploy and let them discover changes through suffering and Reddit posts? Standard operating procedure for the entire genre.

The most eagerly anticipated fix concerns a Arc Raiders weapon bug that crept in after the Flashpoint update: certain weapons were triggering automatically without player input, disrupting gunfights in spectacularly inconvenient ways. If you've been killed by your own gun's existential crisis this past week, 1.23.0 is presumably your salvation. Presumably. The specific fix has not been officially confirmed in patch notes at time of writing: which means there's a nonzero chance it will remain exactly as broken while Embark works on something more important, like the next cosmetic drop.

What 1.23.0 almost certainly does NOT contain: new weapons, balance changes, new map conditions, new enemies, or anything that requires a content writer to get excited. Manage expectations like a professional.

Known Outstanding Issues (Inherited from Flashpoint)

  • Post-Flashpoint weapon auto-activation bug: fix status in 1.23 unconfirmed
  • ARC performance drops reported on various hardware configurations
  • Assorted geometry and collision edge cases that will outlive us all
  • 12 known outstanding issues carried over from the Flashpoint 1.22.0 notes: Embark's words, not ours

Twelve acknowledged issues left in the game, sitting in a public patch notes document, staring at you. Arc Raiders bug fixes 2026 is a phrase you will be googling for years. That's not pessimism: it's extraction shooter mathematics. Every patch closes three bugs and opens two. The net is positive. Eventually.

Where This Fits

Patch 1.23.0 is the first weekly update since the Flashpoint drop, which means it exists primarily to glue back together whatever Flashpoint knocked loose. This is the unspoken social contract of live-service development: major updates introduce content and chaos in equal measure, followed by a period of surgical micro-patches that quietly clean up the mess before anyone writes a negative Steam review. Embark, to their credit, has been disciplined about this cadence throughout early 2026.

The Arc Raiders Riven Tides update is the actual event worth circling on your calendar. Expected at the end of April, Riven Tides is described as the final major update of early 2026 and will allegedly bring an entirely new map: which, if you've been playing the same three environments on rotation since launch, will feel roughly equivalent to being released from a medium-security prison. A new map condition is also anticipated, and community speculation points heavily toward an enormous new ARC boss enemy referred to internally as "the Emperor." Production director Caio Braga has publicly acknowledged that endgame players need harder content. The Emperor, if real, is presumably his answer.

Embark has committed to supporting Arc Raiders Embark Studios for ten years. Ten years. If you're reading this with fresh eyes, understand that means weekly patches, monthly major drops, seasons, community projects, and cosmetic bundles until approximately 2035. You are not in a relationship with a video game. You are in a marriage. Congratulations, by the way. The venue is the Rust Belt. The vows were the EULA you didn't read.

Trials Season 3

Patch 1.23.0 lands mid-season, so Trials Season 3 is very much still your problem. Running from March 3 to April 29, 2026, the competitive mode pools 100 raiders across three ranks: Rookie II, Daredevil, and Hotshot: in weekly competitions where all progress is lost on death. The grand prize for reaching 4,000 stars is The Torque outfit. If you haven't reached 4,000 stars by now, Arc Raiders Trials Season 3 rewards are going to remain theoretical for you personally. That's fine. Not everyone is meant to have nice things.

Extraction is everything. Death resets your stars. The game is called ARC Raiders, not ARC Campers, but camping might actually be the correct strategy here and nobody wants to admit it.

Season 3 At a Glance

  • Duration: March 3: April 29, 2026
  • Structure: Weekly pools of 100 players per rank tier
  • Ranks: Rookie II / Daredevil / Hotshot
  • Reward: The Torque exclusive outfit at 1,000 / 2,500 / 4,000 stars
  • Death penalty: Total progress reset: yes, all of it

What Flashpoint Did

To understand why a mild patch like 1.23.0 is necessary, you have to appreciate what 1.22.0 unleashed. The Flashpoint update: the biggest content drop of March 2026: introduced the Close Scrutiny map condition via the new ARC Assessor operation, a genuinely terrifying flying enemy called the Vaporizer with laser-based attacks, two new weapons (the Canto SMG and the Dolabra Legendary energy shotgun), and a deployable called the Surge Coil. Shredders expanded to all maps. A community crafting project involving a High Gain Antenna went live. The Arc Raiders new weapons 2026 crowd finally had something to celebrate.

Flashpoint also kicked over several filing cabinets on its way out the door. The Blue Gate security code system was overhauled: codes now only come from printers and expire upon extraction, which killed at least four popular information-hoarding strategies. Rocketeer collision was nerfed. Firefly spawn rates were significantly reduced, presumably after the community's collective mental health declined to concerning levels. Baron Husk loot was increased. Eleven audio fixes, seven gameplay bug fixes, and a graphics driver upgrade to Intel XeSS 2.1.1 and AMD FSR 2.1.0 were included. And then, in the final footnote of the patch notes, twelve known outstanding issues were listed. Welcome to 1.23.0. This is the cleanup crew.
