WoW Patch 12.0.7 Dragonflight Timewalking Guide
WoW Patch 12.0.7 Midnight Revelations is live: and the Omnium Folio is your free power upgrade with no gear slot cost. Five weeks, 13 runes, zero farm
The Omnium Folio is Patch 12.0.7's mid-expansion borrowed power system: a runic ledger that stacks passive combat bonuses directly on top of your existing gear. Unlike the Onyx Annulet from Dragonflight or the Reshii Wraps from The War Within, it occupies zero gear slots. Your BiS list survives intact.
Structurally it works like a five-row talent tree running parallel to your class talents. One row unlocks per Wednesday reset. Each row offers two to four choices: except Week 3, which gives you exactly one option and no opinion about it. Pick one rune per row, swap freely once unlocked, no respec cost.
Alt tax: The system is per-character. Every alt runs the questline separately. Account-wide would have been nice. Blizzard disagrees.
Lore-wise it's the reawakening of the Sunstrider Omnium: an ancient elven artifact created by Dath'remar Sunstrider to study the schools of magic. It went dormant for decades and came back online when the Sunwell got converted into the Darkwell. Classic Midnight timing.
The unlock chain starts at Magister's Terrace on the Isle of Quel'Danas, kicked off by the quest The Magister's Call. You can also pick it up from the Magister's Missive scroll at the Ritual Sites hub, or via the Adventure Guide (Shift+J → Suggested Content). The two questgivers driving the chain are Grand Magister Rommath and Magister Umbric: both deeply invested in stopping the Omnium from spreading chaos before you've even had coffee.
The final quest, Seeking Knowledge: The Omnium Folio, hands you the ledger and prompts your first rune pick. Solo, no group requirement, roughly 15–20 minutes at level cap if you read quest text. Less if you don't. The system then appears as a dedicated minimap button: same area Renown used to live.
Thirteen runes across five rows. The WoW Omnium Folio rune tree is smaller than a talent tree but heavier on choice weight, especially at Week 5 where all three capstones dramatically change how your full build performs.

Rune of Void-Touched Orbs is the safe default for virtually everyone. Stored orbs fire on any attack: consistent even on low-APM rotations, and the heal redirect matters for healers. Rune of Unleashed Fire is fine when movement costs you nothing and you can stack on a target. Most fights don't cooperate.
This is also the most consequential pick in the Omnium Folio best build framework: Weeks 3 and 5 both scale off whichever Core Rune you chose. Void-Touched Orbs procs more frequently, which means Lingering uptime is higher and Overload hits more often. Pick accordingly.
Rune of Self-Mending for world content and solo play: passive healing below 75% requires zero thought and adds up. Rune of Void-Tainted Shell for anything with a healer on you: the absorb specifically counters one-shots above 10% max HP. The bleed-back is a non-issue when you're getting healed. Rune of Lynxlike Reflexes for PvP and the new Showdown zones where kiting matters more than anything else.
No choice. Rune of Lingering is the only option and it's genuinely good: adds an 8-second DoT or HoT after every Core Rune proc, matching the burst value, effectively doubling total output per proc cycle. This is the row that retroactively makes Void-Touched Orbs's proc frequency even more valuable.
Check your class Discord stat priority and match it. If your spec doesn't have a clear winner or you swap specs frequently, Rune of the Versatile Warrior is the lazy-correct default: Versatility boosts both damage done and damage reduction, which is useful in every content bracket without committing to a specific secondary.
The hardest pick. Rune of Overload simply doubles Core Rune output: clean, front-loaded, easy to sim. Rune of Residual Energy doubles the Lingering over-time instead: better on multi-target sustained fights. Rune of Echoes replays everything at 50% after 10 seconds: strong on long boss pulls where you can guarantee the delay matters. Live logs will settle this properly. Anything else is theorycrafting.
The Omnium Folio rune builds below are the consensus starting points. Treat them as a baseline, not scripture: your class sim and live logs take precedence once data exists.

Every expansion has one of these. The WoW borrowed power system 2026 entry is, by objective criteria, one of the less offensive examples. No gear slot cost. No farming ceiling. Free swapping. Five weeks of deterministic unlocks with no RNG gating.

The Folio is closest structurally to Reshii Wraps: five rows, weekly cadence, no farming: but doesn't eat a gear slot, which makes the comparison somewhat embarrassing for the Reshii era. Nobody's saying Azerite traits. We're just quietly acknowledging that the bar was very low.
Patch 12.0.7 added the Sporefall raid featuring Rotmire, two new open-world Showdown zones: Naigtal (fungal swamp, Hal'hadar Ethereals) and Val (icy tundra, Domanaar occupation): plus the returning Turbulent Timeways event running six Dragonflight-era dungeons. The Folio applies to all of it.
Showdown zones are accessed via a rotating portal in the Voidstorm hub or the static portal in lower Silvermoon City beneath the Ritual Sites vendors. They rotate weekly. All gear from Showdown zone bosses is Bind on Equip, making this patch one of the strongest alt catch-up systems in recent memory: especially combined with Heroic World Tier unlocking after defeating Nexus-Captain Leth'ir.
Mythic+ pugs will expect a completed Folio. Raid teams will assume the chain is done. The only category of player where delaying is defensible is someone currently leveling: and even then, the questline is 15 minutes. There is no excuse.

No. One row per Wednesday reset, no catch-up mechanic, no farming to accelerate it. Wait like everyone else.
No. Per-character only. Every alt runs The Magister's Call questline and earns weekly unlocks separately. Sorry.
Void-Touched Orbs. The heal redirect to lowest-health allies scales directly with healer gameplay patterns.
Overload for burst-heavy content. Residual Energy if Lingering uptime is consistently high on your fights.
Nothing. Free swap, anywhere, anytime outside of combat. Change your mind as often as you want.
