World Of Warcraft: Midnight World Bosses Guide

You've made it to Midnight Season 1, which means Blizzard has once again decided that what you truly needed was a set of absolutely enormous creatures stationed across the world with the singular purpose of ruining your Tuesday. Four World Bosses now prowl the lands of Zul'Aman, Eversong Woods, Voidstorm, and Harandar: each rotating weekly, each dropping a single piece of Warbound-until-equipped Champion 4/6 gear per Warband per reset, and each apparently personally offended by your existence.

This guide will walk you through where to find them, what they do to you specifically, and what scraps of loot they grudgingly vomit onto the ground after you finally, mercifully, kill them. Good luck. You're going to need considerably more than that.

In a display of breathtaking generosity, all four bosses share the exact same four pieces of armor. Because why would you want boss-specific flavor when you can have four nearly identical characters wearing the same hat? These drop from any of the four bosses: which is Blizzard's way of saying "it doesn't matter which one you kill, you're still getting the wrong slot."

  • Bramblestalker's Feathered Cowl (Mail Helm)
  • Host Commander's Casque (Plate Helm)
  • Wretched Scholar's Gilded Robe (Cloth Chest)
  • Devouring Outrider's Chausses (Leather Legs)
  • Forgotten Farstrider's Insignia (Trinket)

World Boss: Zul'Aman

Wow Midnight Cragpine Guide

📍 The Stump, Zul'Aman /way 45 48

Ancient as the cliffs themselves, Cragpine slept peacefully for centuries until you showed up. He was minding his own business beneath a comfortable canopy of towering pines, and now he's awake, furious, and armed with a literal tree. You did this. You walked into his forest. You woke him up. Congratulations on your contribution to the local ecosystem.

Cragpine is essentially a walking nature documentary gone wrong: he commands treants, summons roots from the earth, and beats people to death with botanical weaponry. The real tragedy is he was napping just fine, and some adventurer with nothing better to do decided to "explore." Hope the ilvl 256 neck was worth it.

Tanks

  • Eat heavy melee hits from a tree being used as a bat. Completely normal.
  • Watch Angry Treants fixate on your friends while you stand there looking important.

Healers

  • Rootquake hits the entire raid for heavy damage. Just… constantly.
  • Floating Ancient Seeds pulse damage on everyone nearby. Fun!

DPS

Abilities

  • Rootquake: Cragpine stomps the earth, inflicting heavy Physical damage to all players within 60 yards and politely requesting that Erupting Roots punch players upward from the ground. He also wakes up slumbering treants. Because why not import additional problems mid-fight.
  • War Club: Cragpine grows a pine tree from the earth and wields it as a club, empowering his next 10 melee attacks with bonus Physical damage. The sheer audacity of a boss who crafts their own weapon mid-encounter cannot be overstated.
  • Ancient Seeds: Cragpine awakens seeds buried in the earth. They float around dealing Nature damage to anyone nearby every 2 seconds for a full minute. A minute! They will outlive your interest in this fight.
  • Angry Treant: Awakened by Rootquake, these treants fixate on a player and pursue them endlessly until destroyed. They are, as advertised, very angry. You would be too.

World Boss: Eversong Woods

Wow Midnight Lu'ashal Guide

Eversong Woods /way 45.2 60.0

While the Lightbloom devastated most of Eversong's wildlife: you know, normal animals with the basic decency to simply die: Lu'ashal decided to absorb all that Holy energy and grow to gargantuan size. She is described as "as dangerous as she is beautiful," which is the WoW equivalent of saying "she will murder you, but gracefully."

Lu'ashal rains radiant energy from the sky, splits the ground open into blinding fissures, and unleashes waves of Radiant Embers across the battlefield because she clearly has strong opinions about personal space. Standing in her general vicinity is actively bad for your health. Standing still is worse. Existing in the same zone is frankly inadvisable.

Tanks

  • Dawnfire Breath: heavy Radiant damage cone. You're the target. Good luck.
  • Radiant Flare hurts everyone but the server log will blame you anyway.

Healers

  • Dawncrazed Halo spreads damage to everyone within 6 yards of afflicted players. Spread out. Please.
  • Radiant Flare is a raid-wide catastrophe. Your CDs will cry.

DPS

  • Don't stand in Blinding Fissures. They reduce your hit chance by 100%. That means zero.
  • Move away from everyone afflicted with Dawncrazed Halo. Yes, that includes yourself.

Abilities

  • Radiant Sunder: Lu'ashal calls down searing Holy energy from the sky, inflicting massive Radiant damage to any player with the audacity to stand in the impact zone, and tears open a Blinding Fissure as a parting gift. The fissure inflicts 15 Radiant damage per second and reduces hit chance by 100%, which is nature's way of saying "leave."
  • Radiant Flare: Lu'ashal enters a lightcrazed rage (her normal state, apparently) and inflicts 40 Radiant damage to the entire raid while simultaneously causing all existing Blinding Fissures to erupt, firing Radiant Embers in every direction. Each ember knocks players back. It's basically a very aggressive pinball machine.
  • Dawncrazed Halo: Afflicts several players with a radiant halo, dealing 15 damage every 3 seconds to them and all allies within 6 yards. Spread out. Stop clumping. This is the fourteenth expansion and you still clump.
  • Dawnfire Breath: A frontal cone of holy flame aimed at the tank. Inflicts Radiant damage twice per second for 2 seconds and hits anyone standing in the area. Position accordingly. Or don't. It's your repair bill.

World Boss: Voidstorm

WoW Midnight Predaxas Guide

Predaxas does not rest, does not reason, and devours with a hunger as insatiable as the void itself. That's the lore description. The practical description is: a massive creature that has eaten so many things it regurgitates them at you during the fight. As a mechanic. Intentionally. Blizzard designed this on purpose.

The Gorging Pit: a name that should have been your first warning: is Predaxas's home turf, and it thrashes around ejecting the contents of its multiple stomachs in your general direction. The adds that emerge from its vomit will then attack you. The fight is, in a word, disgusting. In two words: therapeutically challenging.

Tanks

  • Regurgitation spawns adds from Predaxas's stomach. Your job is to collect them. Enjoy.
  • Seismic Slam knocks everything back and triggers cascading add effects. Positional chaos incoming.

Healers

DPS

Abilities

  • Regurgitation: Predaxas vomits a cone of stomach contents dealing 40 Nature damage plus 5/sec for 12 seconds to anyone in the way, and spawns a collection of delightful friends: Radiating Voidticks, Ingested Consumptors, and Enraged Bloodclaws. None of them are friendly. All of them are moist.
  • Seismic Slam: Predaxas lurches multiple times, knocking back everyone within 300 yards and triggering secondary effects on each add type. Voidticks fire Voidscatter; Consumptors leave a Bilepool (slows movement, deals Nature damage); Bloodclaws erupt with Blood Nova, stacking a debuff that increases damage taken. Seismic Slam is essentially a button labeled "make everything worse simultaneously."
  • Devour: Predaxas's stomachs growl and it blitzes across the arena attempting to eat players every 1.8 seconds for up to 7 seconds, dealing 30 Nature damage and stunning anyone within 9.5 yards. Move. Move now. Move yesterday.
  • Toxin Splatter: Cast by the Ingested Consumptor adds. Interruptible. Interrupt it. This is not a request.

World Boss: Harandar

Once docile. Once. Thorm'belan used to peacefully roam Harandar's southern wilds, presumably minding its own enormous business, until the Lightbloom infected it and drove it into a state of permanent, irredeemable fury. The solution, as is tradition in this game, is to kill it. Not cure it. Not relocate it. Kill it. We are the heroes.

Thorm'belan wields the corrupted power of the Light like a blunt instrument, hurling crystallized shards that will stun your entire raid if ignored, yanking everyone toward it with vine tendrils, and embedding motes of searing light into players that then explode on nearby allies when they expire. It is, mechanically, an argument for staying far away from your friends in every possible scenario.

Tanks

  • Rending Claw bleeds you. Standard tank experience. Survive accordingly.
  • Watch for Shredding Tendrils and walk away the moment it activates. Yes, actually walk away.

Healers

DPS

  • Intercept Scintillating Shards. Walk into them. On purpose. You've been trained for this.
  • If you have Radiant Mote, isolate yourself before it expires. Stop being a grenade around your allies.

Abilities

  • Scintillating Shard: Thorm'belan hurls a light-infused shard at a location. If a player intercepts it on impact, it bounces to a new location and deals 30 Holy damage within 3 yards: manageable. If no one intercepts it, the shard triggers a Shard Eruption that stuns the entire raid for 4 seconds. This is the game asking politely if you are paying attention. The answer is often "no."
  • Shredding Tendrils: Binds all players in a cone with vines, pulling them toward Thorm'belan and dealing 6 Nature damage every 2 seconds. The tendrils snap when players move far enough away. The solution is simply to walk in the opposite direction, which is harder than it sounds when your raid's spatial awareness is operating at minimum capacity.
  • Radiant Mote: Embeds searing light into several players, dealing 15 Holy damage every 3 seconds for 9 seconds. Upon expiration, the mote detonates into Dazzling Radiance, dealing 30 Holy damage to all other players within 12 yards and disorienting them for 6 seconds. Spread out before it expires. Seriously. Please.
  • Rending Claw: Thorm'belan rends the tank for 80 Physical damage and applies a bleed of 20 damage every 3 seconds for 12 seconds. Standard tank punishment for the crime of being the closest person.

World Of Warcraft: Midnight World Bosses Guide FAQ

Do I have to kill all four World Bosses, or can I just do whichever is active this week?

Only one boss is active per week: they rotate on the weekly reset. You don't get to pick your suffering; suffering picks you. Check your map for a skull icon marking the world quest, then drag yourself over to whatever corner of Midnight is currently trying to kill you. Next week it'll be someone else's problem.

What item level is the loot, and is it actually worth farming?

Each boss drops Champion 4/6 gear at item level 256: Warbound-until-equipped, meaning you can mail it to an alt. For one piece per Warband per weekly reset, it's a reliable low-effort upgrade that costs you approximately five minutes and one group wipe. Compared to Mythic+ and raiding, it's not your ceiling, but it's a fine floor to stand on.

How many players do I need to kill a World Boss?

World Bosses are open-world encounters with no lockout on participation: anyone can tag along and contribute. In practice, the more the merrier, since these bosses hit like cargo wagons and spawn adds with feelings about your continued existence. A full group of 20-plus players is comfortable. Attempting this with a group of four friends is a biography, not a strategy.

What is The Lightbloom and why does it keep making things worse?

The Lightbloom is Midnight's expansion-wide corruption event, a surge of aberrant Holy energy that has swept through Eversong and surrounding zones. For most wildlife it's catastrophic. For creatures like Lu'ashal and Thorm'belan, it was more of an unsolicited power boost. Blizzard's storytelling philosophy of "the cure is somehow also the disease, and also a boss fight" is alive and well.

I didn't get the piece I wanted. When can I kill the boss again?

Once per weekly reset, per Warband. The reset rolls over on Tuesdays in North America and Wednesdays in Europe, which means you have approximately 168 hours to contemplate the item slot you didn't get. On the bright side, the boss will be back. On the less bright side, so will the RNG, completely indifferent to your needs.
