NeverSink's loot filter for PoE2 is live. Seven strictness tiers, FilterBlade customization, economy-based tiering: your screen just got cleaner. Use
Path of Exile 2 launched in Early Access on 6 December 2024 and immediately started throwing items at you like it hates you personally. The NeverSink loot filter: poe2 loot filter if you prefer to Google it: is a community-created script that assigns colors, sounds, map icons, and light beams to items based on their value. It does not touch your game files. It is not a hack. It is not cheating. It is a text file with rules, written in GGG's official filter language.
NeverSink released a lite filter shortly after Early Access launched, then dropped the full version with FilterBlade support on 13 January 2025. The filter is free. Updates are free. If you want a Patreon-exclusive auto-updater that pushes changes directly to your game, that costs money. Everything else does not.
Not PoE1. NeverSink maintains separate filters. This guide covers the PoE2 filter only. Do not paste the PoE1 filter into your PoE2 folder and then act surprised.
Two methods. Pick one. Do not combine them.
1 Go to filterblade.xyz. Select PoE 2 when prompted.
2 Choose your strictness level with the slider. Default: Semi-Strict.
3 Click Export to PoE in the top right. Give the filter a name.
4 Click Save & Sync. Log in with your PoE account. Done. Changes push automatically.
5 In-game: Options > Game > Loot Filter: select it from the dropdown.
1 Download the latest release from GitHub.
2 Extract with 7zip. Take the .filter file you want.
3 Drop it into: %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2\
4 Linux: steamapps/compatdata/2694490/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2/
5 In-game: Escape > Options > Game > Filters: select from dropdown.
Do not place the file in the onlinefilters subfolder. The game will ignore it. You will spend 20 minutes wondering why nothing changed.
The game does not hot-reload. If you edit the file manually, go to Options > Game > Loot Filter and hit Reload. Console players can press Left Stick at any time to temporarily reveal everything the filter is hiding.
Seven levels. Higher number = more items hidden = more items you will regret not seeing. The neversink filter strictness system is the single most important decision you will make with this tool. Choose wrong and you either drown in junk or miss crucial crafting bases. The filter has been fully reviewed and overhauled as of patch 0.5.0.

Semi-Strict is the correct answer for most players most of the time. If you are asking "which strictness should I use," you are not ready for Strict.
filterblade customization is where NeverSink transforms from a decent filter into your filter. The base configuration is already balanced. You do not have to touch FilterBlade. But if you want to stop seeing wands when you play a Warrior, or highlight specific flask bases, this is how.
Start-of-league mode exists in the filter to handle fresh economy resets, when nobody knows what anything is worth. NeverSink accounts for this. Stop downloading Very Strict on league day one.
FilterBlade saves your configuration to your account. Log in with your PoE credentials and your custom filter is available on any machine, without hunting for files. The auto-updater (Patreon) pushes new filter revisions directly: useful when a patch drops and the filter needs rule changes the same day.
The filter uses an item filter tiering system with six tiers: S, A, B, C, D, E: assigned to most base types. Economy-based tiering means the rankings shift with actual market prices, not static assumptions. Categories with dedicated tier lists include:
|
Category |
Tiers |
Notes |
|
Currency |
S–E |
Divine, Exalted, Chaos, Regal and lesser kin. Never fully hidden regardless of strictness. |
|
Runes |
S–E |
Ancient, Mythical, Fluxes, Runic Ward, Meta-crafting, Unique-derived. Value unknown on league day 1: treat as S until proven otherwise. |
|
Uniques |
S–D |
Tiered separately. Slight caveat: the filter cannot distinguish between two uniques sharing a base: e.g., a unique Silk Robe shows as "unique Silk Robe," not its actual name. |
|
Soul Cores |
S–E |
Economy-tiered. Update your filter weekly in active leagues. |
|
Catalysts / Essences / Omens |
S–E |
Same economy-tiering. Same update warning. |
|
Waystones |
T7–T16 |
T1–T6 at endgame = vendor trash. Keep T1+ only during early atlas. |
|
Gems |
Area-level scaled |
Campaign gems shown early, endgame gems dominate later. The filter handles this automatically. |
Bases come with a neutral tier list and a meta-based tier list. FilterBlade will eventually offer a mix-and-match option. For now, the meta-based list reflects what actually sells in trade league.
The filter works differently depending on how you play. SSF loot filter setup and trade league setup are not the same configuration, and running the wrong one will cost you either items or screen real estate.
Trade league: Your filter evolves with the economy. Tighten strictness as the league matures and prices stabilize. After week 1, you can safely hide C and D tier bases because there is always a market for the good stuff. By week 4, anything below B tier is time you are not spending mapping.
SSF: You are your own supply chain. Every base is a potential upgrade or crafting target: not a tradeable asset. Run Soft or Regular through the entire campaign and early atlas. The visual noise is the price you pay for not having a trade economy. Accept it. You chose SSF.
SSF tip from FilterBlade: Use the Customize tab to show only item classes relevant to your build. If you play a Witch, hiding all Shields and Two-Handers removes a massive amount of junk without raising overall strictness. Half measures produce half results.
Regardless of your path of exile 2 endgame loot philosophy, some items are always visible in a correctly configured NeverSink filter. These are non-negotiable:
Do not write your own filter from scratch for a new league. In patch 0.5.0 that means accounting for Ancient Runes, Mythical Runes, Fluxes, Runic Ward runes, new uniques, Azmerian Spirit Idols, and an economy nobody understands yet. Nobody has time for that, including you.
Performance note: filters with thousands of redundant rules create measurable frame cost. NeverSink is tuned. A custom 4,000-line disaster that some forum post told you to paste is not. download neversink filter poe2 from the official sources: filterblade.xyz or the GitHub repository. That is all.

Only with the Patreon auto-updater. Everyone else re-syncs via FilterBlade manually after each major patch. Check after every update.
Yes. Sync via your PoE account on FilterBlade. In-game selection is the same as PC. Press Left Stick to temporarily reveal hidden items.
Semi-Strict. Not Strict. Not Uber-Strict. Semi-Strict. Tighten as the economy settles and your gear improves. That is the entire answer.
The filter and all updates are free. Patreon is optional and funds development: it buys you the auto-updater, not the filter itself.
The customizer is built fail-safe. It warns you before doing something stupid and validates on export. You will not accidentally hide your Mirror drop.
