Secondary Weapons Tier List

Secondaries in Warframe stopped being backup weapons years ago. In 2026, the best secondary weapons often rival or outperform your primary. The Laetum does not ask permission. The Kuva Nukor does not miss. Both make your primary feel self-conscious.

Incarnon Genesis: The Only System That Matters

The Incarnon Genesis system converts old weapons into endgame weapons through adapters earned in the Duviri Circuit. The adapter installs a branching evolution tree. The evolved Incarnon form is not an upgrade: it is a different weapon. Torid becomes a gas cloud projector. Latron becomes a surgical armor-stripper. Same model, completely different purpose.

How to get Incarnon Adapters Run the Duviri Circuit in Steel Path. Adapters rotate weekly through Cavalero in the Chrysalith on the Zariman. New June 22 additions: Stug, Vectis, Ballistica, Destreza, Obex.

Completing the evolution challenges unlocks passive benefits and the Incarnon form trigger. Most Incarnons require landing a set number of headshots or kills to charge the meter. Some, like Torid, are trivially easy to maintain. Others, like Felarx, demand reload speed mods just to stay functional. Prioritize adapters for weapons already in your loadout that have high-tier potential: do not farm an adapter for a D-tier weapon because you like the skin.

Coda Weapons: New System, Unproven Track Record

Coda weapons arrived with The Hex update as a parallel evolution path with Infested aesthetics. They evolve existing gear through Infested influence rather than the Incarnon adapter system. The Coda Bassocyst upgrades the Dual Toxocyst with an easier-to-maintain conditional buff and reduced headshot reliance. The system is young, the roster is small, and the ceiling is unknown.

Treat Coda weapons as a watch list, not a priority. Invest Forma elsewhere until the system matures and the community finishes stress-testing it across all Steel Path content types. DE will expand the roster. The meta will adjust. It always does.

Modding Priority: The Actual Source of Damage

An unmodded SS-tier weapon loses to a fully modded B-tier weapon. Every single time. Mods are not optional enhancement: they are the engine. The weapon is the chassis. Build the engine first.

Viral reduces enemy health pools by 75%. Slash procs deal true damage to that reduced pool. Galvanized mods replace standard mods once you reach Steel Path: they stack on kill and dramatically increase sustained DPS.

Kuva and Tenet Weapons: Still Worth Farming

Kuva weapons come from the Kuva Lich system: run Cassini on Saturn or Adaro on Sedna to spawn Kuva Larvlings. Kill the Larvling to create a Lich, farm murmur to identify the correct Requiem mod sequence, then defeat the Lich to absorb the weapon. Always check what weapon the Larvling offers before mercy-killing. Farming a Kuva Lich for a weapon you already have at higher bonus is the most efficient use of Requiem Relics.

Tenet weapons come from Sisters of Parvos: same system, Corpus faction. The elemental bonus rolled on acquisition is permanent and cannot be rerolled, so check the element before committing. Both weapon lines offer dramatically enhanced stats over base versions. Neither system is optional if you want a complete meta loadout.

Riven Mods: God-Roll or Sell

A god-roll Riven elevates an A-tier weapon to SS-tier performance against level-cap content. A mediocre Riven on an already-good weapon wastes a Riven slot. The calculus is simple: roll Rivens on weapons you already use and already love. Selling bad rolls for Platinum to buy other mods is not defeat: it is efficiency.

Riven disposition determines the maximum stat ceiling. High disposition weapons with low player adoption often have better roll potential.
