LoL Arena Patch 26.13 Guide: Augments, Buffs & Nerfs

Patch 26.13 dropped June 24, 2026 and Arena did not escape the carnage. Riot's Arena balance team pushed substantial changes to augments, shoved several champions into the dumpster, and pulled others out of it. If you were comfortable last patch, that is unfortunate for you.

The patch's headline is Locke, the Ashen Exorcist, landing on Summoner's Rift with his High Noon skin, but Arena has its own chaos: Final Form, Spellcraft, and Zeri all received major buffs, while Renata and Swain got kicked down a flight of stairs. Calculated Risk and Chain Lightning are disabled outright. Riot did not explain why. They rarely do.

Patch 26.13 also introduces the Arena Event: Bravery and the Arena-specific Guest of Honor: Fractured system. Both will be covered below, because someone has to.

Guest of Honor & Fractured System

The best Arena augments just got an asterisk. Riot introduced the Guest of Honor mechanic this patch: during each augment offering, one augment is presented at a higher tier but arrives Fractured.

Here is what Fractured means, since Riot buried it in patch notes most people skip:

  • A Fractured augment breaks into a Stat Anvil after 2 losses.
  • Winning 3 rounds with the Fractured augment active removes the Fractured keyword permanently.
  • So you get a Prismatic-tier augment early, but it will punish you for losing twice before stabilizing.

This system rewards aggressive early Arena augment strategy: take the Fractured augment if your duo can reliably close out rounds. If your team comp is "we scale," pass on it and take something safer. The Stat Anvil payoff on loss is minor consolation at best.

Also new this patch: Hone Shardblade can now only appear if you already have Shardblade, which is obvious in retrospect and embarrassing that it ever worked any other way. It now grants a Stat Anvil immediately and one more every round. Pure tempo.

Augment Changes

Patch 26.13's Arena augment tier list shifts meaningfully. Several staples got buffed into relevance, two were disabled with no scheduled return date, and Nesting Doll quietly became Prismatic tier, which will surprise exactly nobody who has watched it delete teams for two patches.

Augment

Tier

Change Type

What Changed

Final Form

Gold

Buff

Shield: 30/60% (was 30/45%). Omnivamp: 15/25% (was 15/20%). Duration: 7.5s (was 5s).

Spellcraft

Buff

Base damage doubled to 100. Slow per Blue Sticker: 45% (was 40%).

Hivemind

Buff

Base damage: 60-120 (was 40-100).

Chroma Flux

Buff

Autocast cooldown: 10s (was 15s). Drastically more frequent.

Despoil

Buff

Curse Move Speed Ratio: 20% (was 10%).

Quest: Void Immolation

Rework

True damage converted to Magic. Health scaling: 3.5% bonus HP (was 1.5% total). On-kill burst added.

Nesting Doll

Prismatic

Tier Up

Promoted from Gold to Prismatic. It was already playing at that level.

Dust To Diamonds

New Effect

When removed, grants 2 Prismatic Stat Anvils. New reason to let it expire.

Hone Shardblade

Gold

Buff

Now requires Shardblade to appear. Instant Stat Anvil + one per round.

Upgrade Collector

Nerf

Level 2 gold: 300 (was 500). Max execute: 23.75% (was 27.5%). Trimmed.

Calculated Risk

Disabled

Gone. No explanation. Classic Riot.

Chain Lightning

Disabled

Also gone. Apparently it was fine until it wasn't.

Juiced & Overflow

Both augments had their max-level mana threshold reduced from 400 to 300, making it easier to trigger their effects. Good for mana-hungry picks who struggled to hit the threshold in shorter Arena rounds.

Champion Changes in Arena

These are the Arena-specific champion adjustments. Not the same as live-server balance. Some of these look friendly. They are not.

Zeri Big Buff

  • Attack Speed to AD over cap: 80% (was 60%)
  • W AP Ratio: 100% (was 50%)
  • E CDR per hit: 0.75s (was 0.5s)
  • E AP Ratio: 30% (was 20%)
  • R Move Speed: 20% base + more per stack

Elise Buff

  • Passive Dmg: 15-45 (was 12-42)
  • Passive HP on hit: 10-25 (was 6-12)
  • Human E Stun: 1.9-2.5s
  • Spider E Dmg & Healing Amp: 60-120%

Gnar Buff

  • W Base Dmg: 20-60 (was 0-40)
  • E Cooldown: 12-8s (was 18-8s)

Kayn (Shadow Assassin) Buff

  • Combat Empowered Duration: 4s (was 3s)
  • Bonus Magic Damage: 35-55% (was 20-40%)
  • Out-of-Combat Re4s (was 8s)

Samira Buff

  • R Base Dmg: 10/15/20 (was 5/10/15)

Renata Glasc Nerfed

  • W Cooldown: 28-24s (was 22-18s)

Swain Nerfed

  • R Healing: 10/15/20 (was 15/30/45)

Kayn Shadow Assassin getting his out-of-combat timer halved is more meaningful than it looks. In Arena, fights restart constantly. He was already triggering his combat empowerment regularly. Now he does it faster and keeps it longer. Pair him with any burst augment and stop being surprised when he deletes your partner first.

Swain's R healing being cut by up to 55% at max rank is not a "balance tweak." It is an execution. His self-sustain in long Arena trades was the entire point of the pick. He is now a worse version of himself who still drains souls for therapy.

Current Meta Snapshot

After 26.13, the LoL Arena tier list shifts as follows. Zeri has never been more oppressive in this mode. Her W AP ratio doubling means AP Zeri builds are no longer a meme -- they are a problem. Stack that with Final Form or Hivemind and your opponents will spend the round watching a blue lightning bolt orbit the arena.

S-Tier threats to expect:

  • Zeri (AP or hybrid -- both hit harder now)
  • Kayn Shadow Assassin (combat window is nearly permanent)
  • Elise (stun duration + spider amp makes her oppressive at 2v2)
  • Samira (ult base damage at all three ranks buffed)
  • Gnar (Mega form uptime now substantially higher with E CDR)

Renata and Swain fall out of comfortable picks. Renata's W being on a near-30-second cooldown at rank one makes her reactive utility far less reliable in short-format fights. Enchanter synergies she enabled may look elsewhere -- or just play Lulu, who was already better.

Nesting Doll's upgrade to Prismatic tier cements its position at the top of any Arena augment tier list. If you see it offered, take it. There are no caveats. Whoever had the courage to argue for its promotion deserves a raise and probably won't get one.

Survival Tips

The best champions for Arena this patch share one trait: ability to close rounds fast. The Fractured Guest of Honor system rewards duos who can win three consecutive rounds without dying twice first. This is not the patch to experiment with off-meta scaling comps.

  • Take the Fractured augment if you are ahead or playing a hard-carry duo. The Prismatic tier power swing is real.
  • Avoid the Fractured augment if your comp relies on getting to round 6. Two losses will evaporate it.
  • Hone Shardblade is now a free Stat Anvil every round once you have Shardblade. Budget your gold augment selection accordingly.
  • Void Immolation no longer deals true damage. Against tanks, this matters. The on-kill burst partially compensates. Do not take it into a double-bruiser lobby expecting the same results.
  • Juiced and Overflow are easier to proc at 300 mana threshold. High-mana users like Swain, Karma, and Lux hit it faster. Swain's sustain being gutted elsewhere makes this a partial bandage.
  • Chroma Flux fires every 10 seconds now. On autocast-heavy champions, this will proc more times per fight than feels fair. It is not fair. Use it.

The Arena Bravery event running this patch encourages picking off-meta duos. Respect the intent. Then play Zeri and Kayn anyway, because rewards are better when you win.

LoL Arena Patch 26.13 Guide: Augments, Buffs & Nerfs FAQ

What is the Fractured augment mechanic in Arena patch 26.13?

One augment per offering spawns at a higher tier but is Fractured -- it breaks into a Stat Anvil after 2 losses, or becomes permanent after 3 wins.

Why are Calculated Risk and Chain Lightning disabled?

Riot disabled both with no stated reason in 26.13. Presumably they were causing problems Riot noticed after you did.

Is Zeri broken in Arena after the 26.13 buffs?

Her W AP ratio doubled to 100% and E CD got faster. Yes. She is broken. Pick accordingly or suffer accordingly.

What happened to Swain in Arena this patch?

R healing cut from 15/30/45 to 10/15/20. His sustain is gutted. He still drains souls; they just heal him half as much now.

Is Nesting Doll now Prismatic tier in Arena?

Yes. It was promoted from Gold this patch. If it appears in your offering, take it. There is no debate to be had.
