The Shattered Throne dungeon has been rotting in the Dreaming City since 2018, and Bungie just gave it Tier 5 loot. Congratulations. Your old reason to skip it is gone. The dungeon runs three encounters deep, throws Taken and Hive at your face in an Ascendant realm that looks beautiful and wants you dead, and ends with a boss who has three copies of herself because once apparently wasn't enough.
This guide covers the fastest, least humiliating path through it: solo and flawless: using Truth and Skull of Dire Ahamkara. If you die here, that's on you. The guide is fine.
Truth runs a 15 RPM Void frame with Prototype Trueseeker as its exotic perk: missiles track targets and detonate on proximity. The Grenades and Horseshoes intrinsic means "close enough" is literally a feature. For champions and boss phases behind cover, this is not optional: it's the point. With the Reaper's Tithe catalyst, stacking damage buffs proc on multi-kill detonations, which Truth produces naturally since it scatters shrapnel on impact. In Shattered Throne's tight corridors, each rocket does the work of three.
Truth is obtained from the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower: no quest, no RNG. Buy it, masterwork it, stop complaining.
After a full rework in Episode Revenant, the Skull graduated from a bad pun to an A-tier exotic. The Actual Grandeur perk now does three things: casts a second free Nova Bomb Lance immediately after your initial throw, empowers Nova Bomb Cataclysm when detonated alongside the Lance, and returns 5% Super energy per kill: capped at 50% per cast. Fire Cataclysm, fire Lance into it: triple detonation, half your Super back. Do the math on a room full of Taken Knights.
The Devour synergy multiplies this further: every weapon kill while Devour is active feeds between 1–4% Super energy depending on the enemy tier. In a dungeon full of yellow bars, your Nova Bomb cooldown becomes a suggestion.

Prismatic technically works. Voidwalker owns it. Feed the Void provides native Devour, which is the entire engine behind Skull's Super regen. The new Soul Siphon aspect adds ability uptime that Prismatic can't replicate at the same efficiency. Stack Resilience for damage reduction, Discipline for grenade regen, and enough Intellect that your Nova Bomb isn't on a 5-minute timer.
The dungeon has five sections. Two of them are traversal that will kill you if you stop paying attention. Three are actual encounters. Here's what matters.
No boss. Survive the Thrall highway and reach the first chest. Devour active = infinite survivability. Don't sprint into a wall.
Taken Ogre. Immune until four Keepers of the Petitions (Wizards) die and you dunk four Petitioner's Marks. 45-second buff timer. Dump Truth and a Nova Bomb double-cast during the ~30-second DPS window. Witherhoard on the boss before activating lets ticks continue during the immune phase.
Three Taken Knights buff her. Kill Knights, remove immunity, then nuke. She splits into three projections: Truth's tracking handles the ones that try to hide. Nova Bomb double cast + Devour loop ends damage phases fast. Rinse three times.
Solo Flawless note: Vorgeth projectile burst: Partway through each DPS phase, Vorgeth fires a spread of projectiles that will one-shot you. Break line of sight behind a pillar. Every time. No exceptions. Yes, it costs DPS. Living costs more.
The Monument of Triumph update retrofitted Shattered Throne into the tiered weapon system. All dungeon weapons now enter Tier progression. Wish-Ender remains the exclusive Exotic. The new armor set pulls from Season of the Defiant-inspired art with updated set bonuses. High-stat Reverie Dawn armor is still farmable when Shattered Throne is the weekly featured dungeon: which is the only time it drops Pinnacle rewards.

There are nine Corrupted Eggs and multiple Ahamkara Bones hidden throughout the dungeon. Wish-Ender or Ace of Spades can reveal some. Collect them or don't: the Cursebreaker seal will tell you which choice haunts you.
The Warlock Nova Bomb build for this dungeon has one loop: kill things, get Devour, kill more things, get Super, fire two Nova Bombs into each other, get Super back, repeat. Bad Juju feeds the loop between supers. Truth handles everything Truth handles, which is everything that needs to die and doesn't want to be looked at.
The Destiny 2 exotic build only works in dense content. Against sparse enemies: or in PvP: you will fire two Nova Bombs into empty air and earn the silence you deserve.
No, but it removes the need to aim while panicking. Grenades and Horseshoes does the precision work for you.
No. It's a Warlock helmet. Hunters and Titans have their own regrets to equip.
For Pinnacle drops and unlimited farming, yes. Off-week it still drops gear, just without the weekly Pinnacle cap.
Collect three Dreaming Tokens from the Tangled Shore, charge them by defeating three bosses, interact with the Awoken statue. Don't die on the way out.
Bungie shipped it in the Monument of Triumph patch notes. If it breaks, it was always a bug. If it stays, it was always the feature.
