The Hive Guardian armor ornaments landed with Monument of Triumph (Update 9.7.0, June 9, 2026): Destiny 2's final live-service update and, conveniently, its largest cosmetic drop ever. Three class sets: Hunter, Titan, Warlock: modeled directly after the Lucent Hive Guardians you've been murdering since the Witch Queen. Torn ethereal fabrics. Ornate bone plating. The whole cursed aesthetic.
They fully support shaders. Every shader. Apply Superblack and look like a void ritual gone wrong, or slap something garish on there and own it. The Hive Guardian ornament set is widely considered the best ornament design in both Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 history: which is either impressive or a damning indictment of nine years of cosmetic output, depending on your mood.
Hunter specifically is regarded as the closest visual match to the in-game Lucent Hive. If you have one character slot and strong opinions about fashion, you know what to do.

The Triumphant Rewards Pass has no expiry date. No seasonal FOMO. No countdown timer designed to simulate a heart attack. It's permanent: which is rare enough to mention twice.
The Hive Guardian ornament sets live inside the Triumphant Rewards Pass track and are also purchasable through the Tenet vendors: four plaques (Bravery, Devotion, Sacrifice, Death) sitting in the Tower Courtyard. You pay in Legendary Marks, a new account-wide currency earned by completing Monument of Triumph Triumphs.
Check Triumph gates before spending. Certain rewards: Chatterwhite shader, Einherjar Coronet, Immortal Legend set: require specific Triumph completions before you can purchase them. Legendary Marks alone won't cut it. Read the vendor fine print. Yes, there is fine print in a video game.
Triumphs span nine years of content. Raids, dungeons, Crucible, Gambit, destinations, Distortions, and: in a move that confirms Bungie developers have not lost their minds entirely: spawning the giant ball in the Tower is a legitimate Triumph worth Marks. The full Triumph list covers over 200 objectives at roughly 15+ Marks each.
Marks have no expiry. No weekly cap has been confirmed. Stack them at whatever pace you exist as a human being.
The Hive Guardian sets accept full shader application: every region, all at once. The Destiny 2 shader system applies uniformly across the ornament, meaning the bone-and-cloth aesthetic actually responds differently to metallic versus fabric-tone shaders. Notable pairings worth testing:

Context, because you'll be grinding in it: Monument of Triumph is Destiny 2's final planned live-service update. The game doesn't shut down: servers stay up, all content remains accessible based on your existing ownership. But no new seasons, expansions, or passes follow this. Everything added here: SRL, Pantheon, vendors, Legendary Marks, all 12 ornament sets per class: is permanent. The Triumphant Rewards Pass has no end date by design.
All players receive a launch bonus on login. Legacy accounts active during every major D2 expansion get the Old Lights emblem and Elemental Qi emote. Veteran rewards are delivered in waves. Check your Special Deliveries kiosk before doing anything else.
Cosmetics from dead events aren't dead. Festival of the Lost, Dawning, Guardian Games, and Solstice ornaments moved into Bright Engram Focusing: infinitely purchasable, no event required. The events are retired. The fashion survives.
Yes. Pass is free with Year of Prophecy. Otherwise, 1,000 Silver at Eververse. No workarounds.
Yes. Separate sets exist for Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. One purchase per class, not account-wide.
No. The pass and vendor rewards are permanent with no expiry date. Take your time.
Yes: universal ornaments display normally in Crucible. No class-specific PvP restrictions apply here.
Hunter. Closest to the in-game Lucent Hive models. Community consensus and, frankly, just look at it.
