How to Get the Immortal Title in Destiny 2

The Immortal title is Destiny 2's final prestige cosmetic, introduced with the Monument of Triumph update. The game's nine-year live-service run ends here. No new expansions. No new seasons. Active development is over. The servers stay on, but Bungie clocked out.

The title is displayed next to your name in-game, visible to everyone in your fireteam and in social spaces. It does nothing mechanically. It tells people you were there and you finished it. Whether anyone cares is their problem.

12 of 17 Triumphs required: your choice which ones

Five Triumphs can be skipped entirely. The game is generous enough to let you avoid the content you genuinely cannot stand. Use this.

The 17 Triumphs

Triumphs are grouped into five parent categories. Each parent has subcategories with their own completion counts. You need 12 of 17 parent Triumphs completed. The path of least resistance is documented below.

Fastest Path to 12

The five easiest Triumphs cover Worlds and Stories content: open-world exploration, vendor interactions, NPC quests. They require no fireteam, no specific Power level, and no patience for other human beings. Start here.

Recommended 12: Minimum Suffering Build

  1. Vistas: Explore Distorted Destinations. Walk around. Collect things. The Destiny 2 Triumph hunting for this category requires only that you exist and move.
  2. Treasure Hunting: Loot caches scattered across patrol zones. You were going to explore anyway.
  3. Distortions: Complete patrol-zone activities in refreshed open-world areas. Soloable. No communication required.
  4. The Tower: Interact with vendors and complete NPC-based tasks in the Tower. The one social space where you're surrounded by strangers who also ignore you.
  5. Allies: Complete story and NPC quest lines. You already paid for this content. Use it.
  6. Strikes & Battlegrounds: Run 6 sub-Triumphs in the Fireteam Ops hub. Matchmaking handles the fireteam problem for you.
  7. Armaments: Complete weapon-specific combat challenges. 5 sub-Triumphs. Pick weapons you already use.
  8. Gambit: Only 3 sub-Triumphs. The least painful PvPvE Destiny 2 activity Bungie ever designed, which is saying very little.
  9. Targets: Kill specific named enemies. 10 sub-Triumphs, but the targets span all difficulty levels.
  10. Dungeon Challenges: Requires a fireteam of 3. Schedule this.
  11. SRL (Sparrow Racing League): Returned permanently in Monument of Triumph. Race, complete 9 sub-Triumphs. Weird but functional.
  12. Collections: Weapons or Armor: If your vault is stocked from years of play, this may already be complete or close. Check before farming anything new.

PvP and Raids are the obvious skips for most players. Both require significantly more time investment and, in PvP's case, tolerance for losing to teenagers who have been playing since year one. Skip them.

Legendary Marks & Rewards

Every completed Triumph awards Legendary Marks Destiny 2 currency. Marks have no expiry date. Spend them at four Tenet vendors in the Tower Courtyard on cosmetics, weapon engrams, and the armor ornament set. The vendors are named Bravery, Devotion, Sacrifice, and Death, because Bungie wanted you to feel something on your way to spend fake currency.

Tenet Vendor Summary

Vendor

Notable Stock

Notes

Tenet of Bravery

Entry-tier cosmetics, emblems

Purchase here first. Unlocks the other three.

Tenet of Devotion

SRL cosmetics, shaders, ornaments

SRL gear lives here. Relevant if you raced.

Tenet of Sacrifice

Exotic ornaments, emotes, finishers

Faction ornaments. Turncoat is here.

Tenet of Death

Infinite weapon engrams, endgame cosmetics

Bottomless loot pool. Farm Marks, buy engrams.

The Immortal Legend armor ornament set requires the Immortal title to purchase. It is locked behind earning the thing it commemorates. Chatterwhite and Superblack shaders also require specific Triumph completions, not just Marks. Check the requirements before assuming currency is the only gate.

Claiming the Title

Once 12 Triumphs are complete, the claim process is three clicks in the menu. No quest turn-in. No loading screen. Bungie was merciful exactly once.

  1. Open the main menu and navigate to Journey.
  2. Select the Titles tab.
  3. Find Immortal and claim it. Equip it. Walk into the Tower.

The Immortal armor set Destiny 2: formally the Immortal Legends transmog set: is obtained separately from the Tenet of Bravery plaque vendor. It will not appear in your inventory automatically. You have to go buy it.

Pantheon 2.0: For the Masochists

Pantheon 2.0 is a permanent boss-rush endgame activity with three difficulty tiers. Standard mode awards weekly Tier 5 drops. Custom mode enables Feats for extra rewards. If you are attempting raid Triumphs Destiny 2 as part of your 12, Pantheon is the most efficient route to relevant gear first.

Log In Before You Do Anything

Every Guardian who logged in at Monument of Triumph launch received 50 free Legendary Marks, 2 Bright Engrams, and the Toast to the Monument emblem automatically. If you have not yet logged in since June 9, 2026, do that before touching any content. It requires zero effort. Not logging in first is a choice you make against yourself.

Legacy players with qualifying purchase history should also check eligibility for the Old Lights emblem and the Elemental Qi emote, distributed via the same login redemption system.
