Critical: Read Before Wasting Time Case files only spawn during an active Distortion on that destination. Distortions rotate hourly. Check your Director. One zone glows at a time. You cannot collect outside the window. Plan accordingly or run the same zone twice like a tourist.
Hey, Guardian. We do not have specific offers for Momentum… and as our sorry, we provide you a CRINGEBLOG promocode, it works for every offer. And you can create your custom offer for Momentum almost free.
The Case File Collector Triumph requires finding all 44 data logs scattered across seven patrol destinations in Destiny 2's Monument of Triumph update (live June 9, 2026). Bungie's farewell celebration turned your nostalgia into homework. Ghost won't help. The map won't mark them. This guide will.
Files are interactable objects: hold the button. Enemies respawn constantly. Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph made all destinations permanently available, which is the one mercy in this entire exercise. There is no expiration date. You simply have to find 44 things hidden in corners of zones you probably ignored since 2017.

The EDZ is the largest patrol zone and the source of the majority of your suffering. Seven sub-zones, 21 files. Firebase Hades has no fast travel. You will walk. The EDZ Case File locations are spread across every corner of a map that Bungie designed in 2017 and has left structurally untouched since.
Fallen: Fast travel available: Devrim Kay watches you suffer from his tower
Fallen, Taken: Fast travel available: Three Lost Sectors nearby
Fallen: Fast travel available: Cliffs will waste your time
Cabal: NO fast travel: Spawn at Gulch or Sunken Isles and Sparrow in
Cabal: Fast travel available: Injection Rig event will interrupt you
Cabal and Fallen: both factions will pivot from fighting each other to shooting you
Taken: Dark Forest access: Enter from Sludge, sweep right, double back
Nessus is smaller than the EDZ but makes up for it with vertical terrain and Vex architecture that looks identical from every angle. The Nessus case files Destiny 2 search led here because seven people already got lost trying to find these. Distortion Required

Description |
|
01 / 07 |
Watcher's Grave |
North of the landing zone. Giant leafless tree with red moss. File is at the base. The moss is the landmark. |
|
02 / 07 |
Artifact's Edge |
Head toward the red glowing orb. Look up and right. File sits inside the wreckage above your head. |
|
03 / 07 |
Glade of Echoes |
Position below the “of” marker on the map. Container stacked on a container. Look up, not around. |
|
04 / 07 |
The Tangle |
Approach from the south. Large tree at the front, canyon in front of it. Half pillar in the canyon center. File on top. |
|
05 / 07 |
The Cistern |
Near the Conflux Lost Sector waterfall entrance. Left of the main path before descending. |
|
06 / 07 |
Exodus Black |
Near Failsafe's main wreckage. East-facing wall of the crash site perimeter, ground level. |
|
07 / 07 |
The Cistern (Upper) |
Top of the large Vex structure overlooking the lake. Jump route required. Yes, you will fall. Twice. |
Old Russia. Destiny 1's opening zone, now permanently in Destiny 2 since Beyond Light. The Cosmodrome has two Lost Sectors and the kind of linear layout that makes a Cosmodrome collectible guide almost unnecessary: almost. Six files, two factions (Fallen in the west, Hive in the east), and the fastest full-destination run on this list.
Shadowkeep's destination and the place Eris Morn has been standing since 2019. Four files. The Moon's smaller size means your Moon patrol zone collectibles run is short: but the proximity to Hive and Nightmare spawns means you will be interrupted.
Forsaken's crown jewel. Still the most visually striking destination in the game. Still home to the Last Wish raid. Still cursed for six years. The Dreaming City triumph guide is short here: three files, three zones, none of them far from fast travel. Distortion Required
|
Zone |
Location |
|
Divalian Mists |
Right side of the main path after spawning. Behind the large crystal formation before the first archway. Takes 45 seconds if you know where to look. |
|
Rheasilvia |
Second-floor balcony of the main Awoken structure. Accessible via the jump point on the left side of the building exterior. |
|
The Strand |
Below the hanging bridge structure near the path to Aphelion's Rest. Drop down, don't cross. |
Beyond Light's frozen nightmare. Blizzard zones reduce visibility, Fallen and Vex compete for the privilege of killing you, and the terrain is aggressively vertical. Three files. Short list, difficult zone. Europa collectible locations are at least clustered: unlike the EDZ, you won't cross the entire map.

Reality |
|
Distortion Window |
One destination is active per hour. Check the Director for the glowing zone. Files do not appear outside this window. Running the zone during the wrong hour collects nothing. |
|
Interaction |
Hold the button. It is not a pickup. It takes approximately two seconds. Enemies will shoot you during those two seconds. Kill them first. |
|
Tracking Progress |
Open Triumphs, go to the destination-specific section. The Triumph counter updates immediately. If it doesn't, back out and re-enter the menu. Bungie. |
|
Firebase Hades |
No fast travel node. Spawn at The Gulch or Sunken Isles. Mount your Sparrow. Ride southeast. Takes 90 seconds. Still faster than complaining about it. |
|
Public Events |
Ignore them unless the Heroic reward is something you need. Files are outside event areas. You're here to collect, not to play the game properly. |
Running destinations in order of file count wastes time when Distortions don't cooperate. Instead, Monument of Triumph collectibles should be approached by checking the active Distortion first and routing your session around it. Here is a priority order for single-session efficiency:
Recommended Order EDZ (21) requires the most total time regardless of Distortion alignment: do it across multiple sessions. Cosmodrome (6) is the fastest single-destination run. Nessus (7) and Moon (4) are medium. Dreaming City (3) and Europa (3) can be cleared in one pass each if your Sparrow routing is clean.
The full Case File Collector Triumph across all destinations requires zero fireteam members, zero specific Power Level, and no exotic weapons. It requires patience and a willingness to examine corners Bungie hid things in seven years ago and then stopped talking about.
No. Any Power Level enters patrol zones. Enemies scale. You don't need a number, you need eyes.
No. Files only appear during a Distortion on that specific destination. Wrong hour, zero collectibles. Check the Director.
Triumphs are account-wide. Collect once on any character. Do not repeat the same hunt across all three.
It contributes Triumph score toward Monument of Triumph rewards. Not mandatory, but it earns Legendary Marks.
Triumph score, Legendary Marks, and the satisfaction of doing something Bungie hid intentionally. That's it.
