Destiny 2 Weekly Reset Guide: Raids, Trials & Loot

Another Tuesday, another pile of loot Bungie expects you to be grateful for. This Destiny 2 weekly reset breakdown covers what's featured, what's worth farming, and what you can safely ignore. No fluff, just the grind.

The State of the Game

Before you get excited about "new content," know this: Bungie confirmed Destiny 2 will no longer receive planned live-service content updates after Update 9.7.0, which shipped with Monument of Triumph on June 9, 2026. Everything you're farming now is what you get, forever. A final TWID from Bungie was delayed after layoffs, and a community-run TWID will fill the silence afterward. Charming.

Featured Raids and Dungeons

Since Monument of Triumph launched, every raid and dungeon is playable year-round, but two raids and two dungeons rotate as "featured" each week for better drops. Sundered Doctrine is the only raid/dungeon that hasn't been featured yet, so expect it next reset — assuming the rotation is fixed and not just Bungie improvising.

Featured or not, all raids and dungeons still drop tiered gear, so nothing you run this week is technically wasted. It just won't be optimal, which is the story of every live-service game ever made.

Trials of Osiris returns Friday, July 17, since Iron Banner isn't running. Iron Banner is expected back the last week of the month, so enjoy your brief window of tryhards farming Adepts before the playlist gets flooded with sweats again.

Heavy Metal, despite what half the internet assumed, is not a weekly playlist — it's a daily rotating mode, appearing for roughly 24 hours at a time. Check in daily if you actually want to play it, because Bungie apparently didn't feel like explaining that clearly.

Vanguard Ops exotic orders are currently one of the most reliable sources for new exotic catalysts in Monument of Triumph. Ignore them and you're farming the hard way for no reason.

Ablation: The Mission Everyone Forgets Exists

Completing Ablation Immolation on Ultimate difficulty earns the Ablation One emblem. Clear all three original variants first, and you unlock a hidden 30-minute time-trial version simply called Ablation, which chains all three missions together and rewards its own emblem for a fast clear. Any full clear also drops the exotic ship Agony of One. Buried content, but content nonetheless.

Praxic Blade Crystals

If you collect cosmetics, the praxic blade crystal set has three variants, each gated behind a different grind:

• Dark Matter crystal: reach rank five with every syndicate faction in Tarsis Outpost.

• War Mind crystal: random drop from Lawless Frontier jobs.

• Prismatic crystal: clear every encounter in the Equilibrium dungeon with three or more feats active.

One deterministic, two RNG. Pick your suffering accordingly.

Neomuna, Epocalyn Integrations, and Master Lost Sectors

Running Terminal Overload on Neomuna still nets Epocalyn Integrations, a component that doesn't drop from general destination loot. Open both chests every run, and grab Nimbus's weekly bounty for an extra Terminal Overload key — it's pure RNG with no focusing, so temper expectations.

Master lost sectors reward Tier 5 destination armor and can be soloed or run with a fireteam. One useful quirk: if your engrams are full when you finish a master lost sector, the postmaster substitutes Ferracoutant, Smoke Jumper, or Tech Set gear instead of the destination armor you were expecting. Keep your inventory clear if you're farming a specific set.

That's the week. New featured raids and dungeons land at the next reset, Sundered Doctrine's turn is overdue, and the rest of the grind carries on exactly as it has since 2017 — except now with an expiration date on new content. Farm accordingly.
