Monument of Triumph added 37 armor set bonuses to Destiny 2. Every 2-piece and 4-piece effect tested and ranked
Bungie dropped 37 new Destiny 2 armor set bonuses in one update. For context, the entire year before this patch only produced 19. Somebody in the sandbox team clearly got bored. Every set below comes from the Monument of Triumph update (9.7.0, June 9, 2026), Destiny 2's final planned content drop, delivered through the Armor 3.0 system: two pieces unlock the first perk, four pieces unlock both, and nothing requires you to press a button like some sort of caveman.
Since this update also capped ability cooldown stacking at 125% (down from a genuinely embarrassing 190%), survivability and ammo economy set bonuses are worth more than they used to be. Keep that in mind before you build another glass cannon that dies to a Thrall.
The Destiny 2 dungeon armor category is where most of the actual build-defining bonuses live, mostly because dungeons are farmable solo and Bungie knows it.
| Armor Set | Source | 2-Piece Bonus | 4-Piece Bonus | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apostate's Blade | Pit of Heresy | Finisher stores power; shield break heals ~20 HP | Melee hits scorch while Radiant/Restoration/Cure active | C: a heal you'll barely notice |
| KOD | Prophecy | Light/Dark or Kinetic kills grant polarity stacks (+40 stat) | Weapon-swap loop grants 40% damage resistance, the highest of any set | A: plan your loadout, get rewarded |
| Dark Age | Warlords Ruin | Melee/sword hits grant Initiative stacks | Class ability spawns a healing drone scaling with stacks | B: great with melee loops |
| Deep Explorer | Duality | Taking damage boosts reload speed until stowed | Stowing a weapon heals based on stacks lost | C: boring condition, boring reward |
| Yearning Echo | Grasp of Avarice | Pickups grant stacks; 15% DR at 25+ stacks | Tangles deal 4.5x damage, orb fountain on shield break | S: insane ceiling, mini-nuke tangles |
| Flame Armor | Sundered Doctrine | Damage taken occasionally spawns a Threadling | Post-shield-break Threadlings heal, inconsistently | C: a coin flip disguised as a perk |
| Spacewalk | Vesper's Host | Primary weapons hit disoriented enemies 15% harder | Grenades add a disorient pulse, lasting 3 seconds | C: the window closes before you notice it opened |
| Taken King | Ghost of the Deep | Finisher/revive grants 30s of bonus Super stat | Ability kills spawn Arc Moths that seek and blind enemies | A: Moth Keeper's synergy is real |
| Techeun's Regalia | Shattered Throne | Finisher grants a 200 HP overshield and slow burst | Stacks convert at 999 into 15% DR, +50% ability regen | A: passive, no extra steps, just play |
| TM Custom | Spire of the Watcher | Stowing after a kill heals and disorients nearby foes | Freshly drawn weapons hit harder; Tex Mechanica gear doubles it | A: built for weapon-swap DPS rotations |
The one thing every meta chaser skips: a full four-piece bonus is a commitment, not a stat stick. If you're not building your loadout around the activation condition, you're just wearing a worse exotic slot for nothing.
Every raid received Armor 3.0 treatment, and the Destiny 2 raid armor sets below range from "actually meta" to "why did Bungie even bother."
| Armor Set | Source | 2-Piece Bonus | 4-Piece Bonus | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atheon's Memory | Vault of Glass | Orb pickup + shield break = health stat and radial burst | Sustained damage with a subclass buff creates an Orb of Power | S: best-in-slot for keeping surges and mods alive |
| Cro's Memory | Crota's End | Melee kills trigger a Cursed Thrall explosion | Combat time stacks flinch and 25% damage resistance | B: solid, doesn't synergize with Necrochasm sadly |
| Kentark-3 | Garden of Salvation | Nearby allies grant reload and health stat | Kills grant melee energy to you and allies | C: a worse Dark Age with extra steps |
| Legacy's Oath | Deep Stone Crypt | Powered melee kills add a disorient pulse | Shield break or Super cast fires heat-seeking micro-missiles | A: looks absurd, hits for ~2,500 per missile |
| Nezarec's Nightmare | Root of Nightmares | Debuffed kills chain-spawn Orbs of Power | Finisher grants Devour: +20% flat damage resistance | A: near-permanent DR for any Void build |
| Orex's Memory | King's Fall | Kills on powerful combatants pump ammo meters | Shield break at critical health grants 6s of invisibility, no cooldown | S: the community already knows about this one |
| Pantheon Resplendent | Pantheon | Ammo pickups build Armor Charge stacking into health stat | Boss damage stacks a 15% weapon damage buff (bosses only, not the other way) | A/C split: two-piece is broken, four-piece is a shrug |
| Promised | Salvation's Edge | Powerful kill grants 25% DR and +7% weapon damage | Weapon damage triggers a burst that exhausts targets | A: pairs with Tablet of Ruin super-energy mods |
| Resonant Fury | Vow of the Disciple | Melee damage from majors triggers interruptible healing | Weapon-swap heals based on stacked hits, up to 120 HP | C: outclassed by nearly everything above |
| Veritas | Savathûn's Throne World | Finisher/melee generates an elemental pickup (light supers only) | Finisher heals ~50 HP, spawns three tracking void moths | B: Taken King does the moth thing better |
Nobody expects Destiny 2 damage resistance armor to come from a patrol zone, and yet here we are.
Armor Set | Source | 2-Piece Bonus | 4-Piece Bonus | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Cristocrine | Europa | Every 12s, kill grants +20% ammo meter progress and an orb | Out-of-combat time slowly builds Frost Armor | B/C: the 4-piece is a PvP perk cosplaying as PvE |
Dream Bane | The Moon | Major kills grant +30 melee/grenade stat and 50% bonus damage to Nightmares | Rapid damage triggers health regeneration | B: a genuinely clever nostalgia call-back |
Exodus Down | Nessus | Shield break auto-collects nearby orbs and ammo | Armor Charge spend/gain scales up to 35% damage resistance | A: near-unlimited uptime if you build for it |
First Ascent | The Pale Heart | Multi-element kills speed up Transcendence charging | Grenade cast consumes stacks for bonus grenade energy | C: solves a problem that wasn't there |
U Technology | Vanguard Ops (Pinnacle) | Rapid Void kills spawn a Void breach | Collecting a breach empowers your next Void final blow | C: capped by the global breach cooldown |
Great Hunt | Last Wish | Grenade kills grant 10% damage resistance for 7s | Grenade kills add heavy ammo progress | B: quietly excellent on Warlock soul builds |
Revery Dawn | Dreaming City | Heavy damage taken grants a protective, flinch-resisting shield | Wish expiry cures you for 60 HP | B: feels better in PvP than PvE |
Seventh Seraph | Cosmodrome | AoE/Solar/Seraph kills build Warmind Charge stacks | Warmind Cells are back and hit harder on Stasis builds | S: best four-piece in the entire patch for Stasis |
Thunderhead | Neptune | Grenade cast stacks up to 30% point-blank damage resistance | Unraveled kills refund ~10% grenade energy or special ammo | B: restrictive range but decent payoff |
Wildwood | The EDZ | Precision kills grant 25% DR while aiming down sights | N/A (2-piece carries the set) | B: Devrim cosplay, surprisingly functional |
Luminopotent (Vanguard Ops): Amplified grants faster fusion/LFR handling; jolt kills spawn ionic traces with zero cooldown: Arc super-spam builds love this one.
Cyberserpent Null (Gambit): Sprint kills chain Adrenal Rush; while active, kills fuel special ammo progress. Fine, niche, made for Taken-heavy matches.
This is a PvE-first breakdown, so treat this section as a courtesy. Destiny 2 PvE builds get nothing from these except one exception below.
Armor Set | Source | 2-Piece Bonus | 4-Piece Bonus | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Iron Battalion | Iron Banner | +12% primary weapon damage vs non-boss combatants at max stat | Super kills refund 33% super energy, stacks with exotics | A: the rare PvP set worth PvE farming |
Triumphal Anthem | Crucible | Sliding scoops nearby ammo with a reload buff | Damage grants an enhanced, damage-resistant slide | C: lowman/speedrun gimmick, nothing more |
Cruel Electrum | Trials of Osiris | Weapon stats on ally death | Removed from radar after a primary kill | N/A: PvP only, don't bother for PvE |
Per Odacasia | Competitive Crucible | Weapon stats on primary kill | Grants combined effects of three movement exotics | N/A: PvP only, and the grind is brutal |
Circuit Armor | Sparrow Racing League | Sprinting/racing builds toward permanent Speed Booster | Sliding while boosted jolts nearby enemies | C: cute, the jolt doesn't actually chain damage |
If you only remember one section for your Destiny 2 meta builds, make it this one.
Boss DPS, any activity: full four-piece Atheon's Memory for endless orb generation, or TM Custom if your rotation is weapon-swap heavy, or full four-piece Yearning Echo on Titan for rocket rotations.
Maximum survivability: Exodus Down (35% DR, easiest to maintain) or KOD (40% DR plus ability regen, better for Arc Titan neutral game).
Ammo printer: two-piece Crystalline (Europa) plus two-piece Orex's Memory (King's Fall).
Element-specific: Luminopotent for Arc, Nezarec's Nightmare for Void, Seventh Seraph for Stasis.
Quickfire combos: two-piece King's Fall + two-piece Salvation's Edge for ammo and resist off the same trigger; two-piece Deep Stone Crypt + two-piece Cristocrine ("Smoke Jumper") for melee-heavy Solar Titan or Prismatic Slide Warlock; two-piece Europa + two-piece U Technology as a non-raid alternative.
That's the whole best Destiny 2 armor sets rundown for Monument of Triumph. Go farm, get disappointed by drop rates, repeat.

Atheon's Memory, Orex's Memory, and Seventh Seraph tie for best overall PvE performance.
No. Two different two-piece bonuses plus an Exotic often works just as well.
KOD from Prophecy dungeon offers 40% damage resistance, the highest of any set.
No. Both are PvP-only sets with no meaningful PvE application whatsoever.
