JAVELIN M27 Complete Guide: Black Ops 7 Season 3
Warzone Season 3 is live and the MK35 ISR just walked to the front of the meta without knocking. New AR, new SMG, nerfed Voyak: here is every loadout.
Every new season, Warzone does the same thing it has done since Black Ops 7 launched: drop new weapons straight to the front of the meta queue, wave them in your face, and wait for the internet to collectively lose its mind about pay-to-win. And every season, people act surprised. Congratulations on your reaction time. The enemy dropped you in 0.4 seconds; took you three weeks to notice the gun they used was new.
Season 3 is no exception. Warzone Season 3 meta arrives with two launch-day weapons: the MK35 ISR assault rifle and the VST submachine gun: both of which slot neatly into "you should probably be using these" territory. One is undeniably top-tier. The other is competitive but not mandatory, which is, frankly, the most generous thing the developers have done for your wallet in years.
Historical Context You Will Ignore For three years of the original Warzone cycle, new weapon additions were largely irrelevant to the meta. Developers added guns; the community ignored them. Season 3 2026 is not that era. New equals meta now. Adjust accordingly or keep complaining in the comments: both are valid life choices.
There are also mid-season weapons incoming: the Strider 300 sniper, a 1911 pistol, a Siren special, and a Katana for those of you who enjoy dying stylishly in close quarters. But those are future problems. Right now, the only weapons that matter are the ones already in your opponents' hands.
Let us meet the new contestants. Black Ops 7 new weapons Season 3 introduces exactly two launch-day guns, and the community has already made its verdict with their trigger fingers.

The best guns Warzone Season 3 list also still includes the CR-56 AMAX, which returned via the battle pass and immediately remembered it is excellent. The HDR reclaimed its throne as the premier sniper, because Verdansk has tall buildings and long sightlines and some of you apparently enjoy suffering at extreme distance. The Voyak KT-3: previously a crowd favorite: received a damage range and bullet velocity nerf. You had it good while it lasted. Cherish the memories.

The MK35 ISR boasts the lowest recoil in its assault rifle class paired with a fast fire rate, which is a combination that makes medium-to-long range engagements feel almost embarrassingly forgiving. Clean iron sights mean you have an extra attachment slot to spend on something useful instead of an optic. The developers, in their infinite mercy, have given you a gun that essentially aims itself. What you do with that gift is your own moral burden.
To unlock the MK35 ISR, you need to reach the HVT reward on Page 3 of the Season 3 Battle Pass. Complete Page 3 entirely, spend one Unlock Token, and it is yours. Alternatively, there will be a store bundle available at launch if grinding is beneath you: a perfectly valid position that costs real money instead of time, and both currencies are finite.
MK35 ISR // Long Range AR
META
The suppressed barrel keeps you off the minimap, extends damage range, and tightens hipfire spread. The grip handles horizontal recoil. Stock improves strafe speed for jiggle-peeking. If the gun already has no recoil problem, spend the optic slot on bullet velocity instead. Stop overthinking it.

The VST is a high fire rate SMG with significant vertical recoil, low per-bullet damage, and high DPS thanks to the fire rate compensating for what individual rounds lack in dignity. It kills fast when you hit your shots consistently, which is a condition that applies to every weapon ever made and therefore tells you nothing useful. The 50-round magazine is acceptable for solos and occasionally terrifying in trios where your team needs you to do most of the work.

In the Warzone SMG tier list Season 3, the VST sits in a competitive but not singular position. The KSV remains a brutally consistent alternative with better mobility. The C9 is the queen of reliability after its recent buff. The VST's fast fire rate will feel like home for players who enjoy the sensation of spraying a wall of bullets at roughly where an enemy was standing half a second ago.
Vertical Recoil Warning The VST kicks upward with considerable enthusiasm. Without the Hawker Series 45 muzzle controlling that vertical climb, extended engagements will end with your crosshair pointed at the sky and your dignity pointed at the floor. Build accordingly.
VST: Aggressive Close Range
Competitive
Damage range is the priority for an SMG in BR because your gun will face situations it was not designed for. The muzzle is non-negotiable unless you enjoy losing gunfights vertically. Suppress if you want to stay off radar; otherwise lean into the range barrel and accept the recoil penalty as a character-building exercise.

The best Warzone loadout 2026 formula has become refreshingly simple: monolithic suppressor, longest barrel, biggest magazine, then make a decision about a stock or rear grip depending on whether your problem is recoil or accuracy. This is not a complaint. The attachment system has converged on clarity. You are being handed the answer. Please stop running stock configurations.
MK35 ISR + HDR
TOP META
The HDR is the best sniper in the game right now. Pair it with the MK35 ISR for a loadout that covers 5 meters to 500 with almost no weakness. This is the adult choice.
CR-56 AMAX + VST
Versatile
The AMAX functions as a near-SMG when built for sniper-support range, making this pairing genuinely cover every distance. The VST handles the close work for players who enjoy high-stakes spray patterns.
Ryden 45 + AK27
Solid AR Meta
The AK27 received significant recoil reduction this season. It is now embarrassingly easy to use for what was previously a demanding weapon. The Ryden 45 mirrors the simplicity: monolithic suppressor, longest barrel, big mag, rear grip for first-shot accuracy. That is the entire build philosophy. You are welcome.
Razer 9mm + Voyak KT-3
The Black Ops Royale loadout mode is where you level new weapons using floor loot before committing them to your actual loadout. The Razer dominates close-range TTK in this mode. The Voyak got nerfed but remains functional at medium range. Use this mode to grind weapon XP and avoid the embarrassment of running an unleveled gun in standard BR like someone who just bought the game.
Season 3's weapon balance patch took a notably different approach than previous seasons. Rather than demolishing the top two guns and leaving everyone confused for two weeks, the developers chose to nerf only the AK-74 and the HDR sniper (slightly), while buffing multiple weapons including the DS20 Mirage, MRX-17, and the MPC-25 SMG. The community responded with rare, suspicious optimism. Enjoy it while it lasts.
The Warzone weapon TTK comparison picture in Season 3 is genuinely varied. The spreadsheet that the community has been maintaining: and if you are not consulting a damage spreadsheet, you are navigating this meta with a blindfold and a prayer: shows the MK35 ISR sitting comfortably in the top section of AR comparisons. The VST sits middle-of-road for SMGs, with several alternatives offering faster raw TTK but the VST providing forgiveness through its fire rate consistency.
Balance Philosophy Translation When developers say "we want more variety in the meta," they mean "we made more guns usable without breaking the ones you already like." This is categorically good. Your job is to figure out which of the new usable guns is actually better than the ones you already like. It is the MK35 ISR.
The Voyak KT-3: which had been quietly popular heading into Season 3: received nerfs to damage range and bullet velocity specifically because it had become too dominant in the long-range AR role. The MK35 ISR stepping into that gap is not a coincidence. This is a rotation. The developers are cycling the meta weapon by weapon, season by season, and if you find this annoying then you are either new or you have not been paying attention for three years.

Verdansk returned this season and it changed everything. The removal of redeploy drones and ziplines slowed the game down considerably, which is a polite way of saying the era of reckless aggression is over and patience has once again become a virtue. Verdansk meta weapons trend heavily toward longer range: snipers are dominant here in a way they simply were not on Urzikstan, because Verdansk has tall buildings, wide open spaces between POIs, and sightlines that reward pre-aiming and punish running through open fields like you own the place.
Standard Battle Royale has also arrived on Avalon this season, offering an alternative for players who want a different pace. Map rotation is coming mid-season. The community is waiting with cautious optimism and a spreadsheet open in another tab. Whether map rotation will be enough to bring lapsed players back is a question nobody can answer yet, but at minimum it gives the active playerbase something to discuss besides which AR has 3% better TTK at 47 meters.
Loadout Tip for Verdansk Overkill is not optional on Verdansk. You need two primary weapons. A sniper paired with an AR or SMG is the default answer. The HDR + MK35 ISR combination was built for this map. If you insist on running a single weapon, make it an AR and accept that you will die to snipers repeatedly and with increasing frustration.
The how to unlock MK35 ISR Warzone question has a tiresomely straightforward answer: Battle Pass Page 3, HVT reward, spend an Unlock Token. If you want it immediately and without effort, buy the store bundle when it arrives. The VST lives on Page 6 under the same rules. Both are technically free if you complete the pass. Neither feels free when you account for the time investment, but that is the economy we have chosen to participate in.
The recommended leveling path is to run the new weapons in Black Ops Royale first. This mode operates on floor loot, so you are using the gun in real engagements without the pressure of being at a disadvantage in loadout-driven lobbies. You level the weapon, you learn its recoil, you develop opinions. Then you bring it into standard BR, fully leveled and appropriately attached, and stop dying to people who have been using it for a week while you were running a gun from Season 1 out of loyalty or stubbornness.

Yes. Lowest recoil in class, fast fire rate, clean irons. Build it suppressed and aim at people.
For aggressive players who accept vertical recoil, yes. For consistency-first players, the C9 or KSV remain safer choices.
No. It dropped from top-tier to solid mid-tier. Still functional, just no longer the auto-answer for long range.
On Verdansk, strongly recommended. The map rewards snipers. One gun is not enough at distance here.
