BO7 Season 2 Zombies: Paradox Junction Guide
Operation Poison Pill is live in Black Ops 7 Endgame Season 3. Ten steps, Nightmare difficulty, the Link Forger boss, and the Venomous Override AAROW
Operation Poison Pill is the flagship feature of Black Ops 7 Endgame Season 3. It operates as a structured multi-match progression system: ten steps, each containing its own set of missions, stacked on top of each other like a tower of increasingly unreasonable demands. You cannot skip steps. You cannot rush them in one sitting unless you have no obligations whatsoever. And yes, they scale in difficulty, starting in Zone 1 and dragging you all the way up into Zone 4 territory where the enemies have the good sense to shoot back properly.
The structure was designed to mirror the Act Mission system from Modern Warfare 3's Zombies mode: a comparison the developers probably hoped you wouldn't notice, given how that ended. Regardless, this iteration works well enough. Each step rewards you with something tangible, ranging from weapon charms and emblems in the early stages to Double XP tokens and Restore Tokens: a new Season 3 consumable that lets you recover lost Skills and Loadouts after a wipe, which is either a mercy or an admission of how brutally the later zones will treat you.
IMPORTANT: FREE TO PLAY NOTE Endgame is free to play for a limited time starting from April 2. Players without Black Ops 7 can participate with Mason, Anderson, 50/50, or Samuels as starting operators. If you want the Override skins for Grimm, you'll need to own the game. Just so there are no surprises.

The first four steps are the operation's polite way of introducing itself before it starts asking too much of you. All of them can be done in Zone 1 or higher, which means your fully kitted-out operator will breeze through them with the casual menace of someone swatting flies. Step 1 (Party Crasher) just wants you to ping a Guild Checkpoint: those green campfire icons on the tac map: clear it, interact with the console in the nearby tent, and loot the scorestreak from the supply drop that falls from the sky like a very specific birthday present.
Step 2 (Press the Attack) starts layering tasks: get five kills with a scorestreak, complete three activities (green contracts), finish one blue assignment contract: the HVT elimination is the fastest option here: and then Xfil successfully. The reward is a Restore Token, which is Season 3's acknowledgment that you will eventually die horribly in Zone 4 and lose everything. Steps 3 and 4 introduce the surveillance drone mechanic and the Guild Command Center respectively. Shoot the drone down, clear the enemies that pour out of the crash site, then locate and clear a Command Center by eliminating the Guild Commander, and jailbreak a weapon at the workbench to bump its rarity.
EFFICIENCY NOTE For Step 2 assignments, choose the HVT Elimination blue contract every time. It's the fastest assignment in the game: interact, hunt, eliminate, done. The others will have you hauling cargo across the map like a low-paid courier.
Here the gloves come off, marginally. Zone 2 is required, which means enemies start hitting back with intent. The three mastery cargo assignments: the blue contracts with the container-and-question-mark icon: demand that you survive multiple enemy waves while a progress bar fills to 100%, then kill whatever boss spawns from the cargo box. Do this three times. Then find a redeploy drone (the zip lines that let you wingsuit across the map), activate it, and complete two surprise shipment activities, where a container opens and dumps a random enemy type on your face the moment you get close enough.
Step 6 (Hit List) pushes you into Zone 3 permanently. Hunt three prime targets: the skull-and-crosshairs icons on the map: and then complete one HVT assignment using the blue crown contract. The targets are special-level enemies, tankier than standard but nothing catastrophic with a decent loadout. Step 7 (The Red Mist) is where the operation develops an actual personality and that personality is unpleasant. You need 100 critical kills on Fears: headshots only: while simultaneously farming special zombie types: Manglers, Doppelgasts, or Mimics. Conveniently, specials tend to spawn around Fears, so you can process both requirements at the same time if you position correctly. To finish the step, you must kill an elite Disciple, which is the tankiest enemy type in the zone. Keep moving, prioritize mobility, and it won't be as catastrophic as it sounds.
STEP 7 WARNING The Disciple elite is not a speed run. It's a war of attrition. Bring high-damage weapons, keep your distance, and do not attempt this in Zone 3 if your Combat Rating looks like a low credit score. Exotic skills will meaningfully shorten this encounter.
Step 8 (Elite Hunt) sends you into Zone 4 to eliminate three elite enemies and loot one of their dropped item cases. Humans in the Low Town area of Zone 4 spawn frequently and die faster than their zombie counterparts, which makes them the sensible choice. Open any case any elite drops and the mission completes: you don't need an exotic or rare case specifically.
Step 9 (Earth Shaker) is where the Black Ops 7 Endgame Season 3 operation introduces its most chaotic element: luck. The step requires you to participate in a world event in Zone 4 and obtain or upgrade an Exotic Skill: but only the Z-Rex and Colossus world events reward Exotic Skills at completion. That means if the game decides to spawn a different world event in Zone 4, you're waiting for the next match. Z-Rex is the preferred target since it spawns in Zone 4. Once the event concludes, pull an Exotic Skill from the reward case: you can swap it back out immediately afterward, but you must physically take it out of the case for the mission to register.
STEP 9: RNG IS THE DESIGN There is no workaround for the world event requirement. Check the tac map before committing time to Zone 4 prep. If the Z-Rex isn't showing, exfil, redeploy, and pray the spawn table is kinder next match. This is intentional friction. Enjoy it with your teeth clenched.
You made it. The game now considers you worthy of its hardest content, which is its way of saying the real punishment begins here. Step 10, known as the Glitch Step, operates differently from everything before it.
Before attempting this, your operator should have a Combat Rating of 60 or higher, Tier 3 Exotic Skills equipped, and Legendary or Exotic weapons in your loadout. This is not a suggestion. The Glitch Fracture will humiliate under-prepared squads with clinical efficiency.

To begin Step 10, complete a Guild Strike anywhere on Avalon. Once that's done, a second Guild Strike spawns elsewhere on the map with a guaranteed OSCAR appearance. Head to the Winery: the Oscar Inbound Activity marker will only appear for players who have completed all previous nine steps. Defeat OSCAR. He's a strike boss, so bring your best damage output and coordinate with your squad. Once OSCAR is dead, the Link Forger Glitch Fracture is permanently revealed at the bottom of the map in Old Arsenal.
Before entering the fracture, upgrade one of your weapons at the Exotic Fabricator or acquire an exotic weapon: switching utility bonuses or exotic effects also counts. Then walk into the fracture and accept your fate.
The 6 Glitch Challenges Inside Link Forger
THE SKYBREAKER BOSS The final boss is the Skybreaker: a teleporting Guild Robot that calls down missile strikes on your position. It does not stay still, it does not fight fairly, and it will relocate the moment you find a comfortable angle. Spread your squad, keep mobile, bring decoys to distract smaller adds, and use the AAROW Launcher for burst damage windows when it pauses between teleports.
Once the Glitch Boss falls, take a Nightmare Skill from the reward case: this is the final action required to officially complete Operation Poison Pill. After that, the XP drops, the blueprint drops, and the operator skin unlocks based on which operator you completed the fracture with.

Every step in the operation rewards you for your continued suffering. The final haul for completing all ten steps is genuinely substantial for a free progression system: a weapon blueprint, animated camos, and operator skins that require collecting all three variants to unlock the best cosmetic in the set.

Season 3 made a structural change that affects how you approach the entire Endgame operator progression grind. As of this season, each operator now has their own individually assigned loadout: separate weapons, Field Acquisitions, and Equipment per character. This means you can build genuinely distinct combat identities for Mason, Grimm, Anderson, and the rest, rather than shuffling one kit between them.
The flipside: if you're grinding all three Override skins, you'll need to actually develop three separate loadouts to a competitive level. The CR cap on wipes is now 15: you cannot lose more than 15 Combat Rating per death or squad wipe. Nightmare and Exotic skills still vanish entirely on death, and your loadout resets, but the raw CR damage is contained. Operators who successfully exfil with a Scorestreak or Self Revive will keep those items for the next deployment, which rewards clean play over kamikaze tactics.
CR RESET OPTION If you've unlocked all Power Upgrades and Skills for an operator and want to rebuild from scratch, you can now reset one Skill Track. The loadout, weapons, and equipment remain intact. Exotic and Nightmare skills are discarded. This is useful if your earlier skill choices aged badly.

Yes. Every step carries progress between deployments. Nothing resets between matches unless you die without exfiling, and even then only your loadout is affected.
Only Z-Rex and Colossus reward Exotic Skills. Any other world event will not satisfy the second objective. You must wait for the correct one.
No. One Override skin completes the operation. All three are only required for the Virulent Animated Camo reward.
Yes, it is a consumable that restores lost Skills and Loadout once. Additional opportunities to earn more will appear during the season.
Technically possible, not advisable. Wave 4's Disciple and the Skybreaker boss are tuned for squads. A CR 60+ loadout is the absolute minimum for solo attempts.
