WoW Goal! Achievement Guide: Patch 12.0.7 Housing

Patch 12.0.7 introduced a WoW World Cup event nobody asked for and everyone should abuse. Tucked inside Silvermoon City is a functioning football pitch with a vendor, two tabards, and a ball you can actually kick. Kick it into a goal three times: collect three WoW housing decor items for your trouble. Total cost: under 20 gold. Total time: under 5 minutes. Total skill required: can you click?

This is a Feat of Strength, not a regular achievement. It sits in its own proud little category where it cannot be ignored. Blizzard last pulled something like this during the 2008 Olympics. Eighteen years later, the rewards are blander but the field still has better grass than some raid environments.

Availability: This event is likely time-limited to the duration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Go now. There is no good reason to wait.

How to Do It

  1. Open your map and travel to Silvermoon City. Head northwest to Thalassian University. The coordinates are /way #2393 39.4 59.2 for the vendor Richmond. Look for the chess-board grass patch: yes, it's next to a literal chessboard. The Silvermoon City football field is right there.
  2. Speak to Richmond. Buy your faction's tabard: Alliance Tabard of Participation or Horde Tabard of Participation: for 5 gold. Do not right-click to learn it as a transmog unless you plan to also buy a second copy to physically equip. The tabard must be on your body, not in your collection.
  3. Also buy a Kickable Practice Ball for 5 gold. You need one per goal: three goals means three balls means 15 gold total on balls. Sentence of the patch.
  4. Place the ball at the center of the field. Your character's facing direction determines where it rolls when you interact. Kick it toward either goal. When you score, a red firework triggers. You cannot miss it.
  5. Repeat twice more, buying a fresh Kickable Practice Ball each time. After the third goal, the Goal! achievement fires and all three decor items land in your collection automatically.

If you right-clicked the tabard and learned the transmog instead of equipping it, you must buy another one and drag-drop it manually onto your character. Richmond will sell you as many as you want. He does not judge.

Rewards

Three pieces of WoW Patch 12.0.7 housing rewards drop on achievement completion. Here is what you get and what it costs if you want more copies later.

Item

Type

Placement

Extra Copy Cost

Prized Orb of Azeroth

Small Accent / Ornamental

Indoor or Outdoor

5,000 gold (Richmond)

Framed Horde Pride

Wall Decor

Indoor

5,000 gold (Richmond)

Framed Alliance Pride

Wall Decor

Indoor

5,000 gold (Richmond)

The Prized Orb of Azeroth visually resembles a World Cup trophy. It is small, versatile, and the most interesting of the three. The framed faction prides are generic enough that calling them "World Cup-themed" is a stretch, but they fill wall space without offending anyone. Duplicate copies are non-refundable at 5,000 gold: a number Blizzard typed with a straight face.

The Tabards

Richmond also sells two cosmetic tabards as standalone purchases: the Alliance Tabard of Participation and Horde Tabard of Participation, each at 5 gold. These are updated versions of the classic faction tabards. They look fine. They are not the Olympic-ring-emblazoned tabards from 2008, but 2008 was a different era of Blizzard caring about tie-in events.

Both tabards are immediately available to any character that can reach Silvermoon City. Faction restriction does not apply: you can buy both if you want matching decor regardless of allegiance. The game is not stopping you.

Why This Exists

The last time WoW acknowledged a real-world international sporting event was the WoW football achievement precursor during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Blizzard issued cosmetic items, unique pets, and tabards with actual event iconography. Eighteen years passed. The developers returned with this. Credit where due: at least they returned. The Rotmire raid and Void Incursion content arrived in the same patch, so if your raid queue is long, this is six hundred seconds of not staring at a loading screen.

Patch 12.0.7 also brought outdoor housing lighting, 100+ new neighborhood vendor decor items, and a Prey Season 1 Feat of Strength. The soccer content is the lightest addition. It is also the fastest gold-per-minute ratio for new decor in the entire patch.

WoW Goal! Achievement Guide: Patch 12.0.7 Housing FAQ

Do I need to score in a specific goal?

No. Either goal on either end of the field counts. Your character's facing direction is all that matters.

Can I reuse the same ball for all three goals?

No. Each goal requires a fresh Kickable Practice Ball. Buy three upfront. Save yourself a walk.

Is the Goal! achievement account-wide or character-specific?

It is a Feat of Strength, which is account-wide. One character scores, all characters benefit from the decor.

What if the tabard is in my transmog collection but not equipped?

Buy another copy for 5 gold. Equip it physically by drag-drop. Right-click-to-learn does not count here.

Will this event go away?

Likely yes: probably timed to the 2026 FIFA World Cup window. No confirmed end date. Move now, theorize later.
