WoW Midnight Arms Warrior Guide
Sporefused gear from Sporefall's Rotmire boss is Catalyst-eligible. Two pieces per armor class, ilvl up to 298 Mythic…
Sporefused gear drops exclusively from Rotmire, the single boss of the Sporefall raid introduced in Patch 12.0.7. The tag means the item arrives pre-upgraded: no Voidcores consumed, no grinding required. Item level ranges from 259 on Raid Finder up to 298 on Mythic. That 298 ceiling matches fully Ascendant-Voidforged weapons and trinkets from the main season. One weekly kill. Congratulations on your shortcut.
Rotmire is a fungal giant the Fungarians thought it was a great idea to nurture past natural scale. Sporefall raid delivers eleven gear pieces split across all four armor types, a neck, a ring, and a trinket: no weapons. Each armor class gets exactly two Sporefused pieces. Every single one of them drops Bind-on-Pickup, so do not mail anything to your alt while the patch is fresh and assume it works.
Key fact: Sporefused Mythic gear is 9 item levels above standard Myth 6/6 gear. That gap does not require you to do anything except kill the boss.
The Catalyst WoW system converts eligible gear into class tier set pieces, and yes: Sporefused items work in it. Each armor class has two Sporefused slots that can be catalyzed. Not all of them contribute to your Tier Set bonus after conversion, so check before you commit a Catalyst charge to something that will sit in your bag looking pretty.

Waist and Feet slots are the majority here. Neither is a Tier Set slot. That means catalyzing most of these produces a high-ilvl piece that looks like tier set gear and is not. Useful for the stat budget. Useless for the bonus. Plan accordingly instead of discovering this the hard way.

Sporefall is the first raid in WoW history to run Mythic Flex raid scaling: 15 to 25 players instead of the fixed 20 every previous tier demanded. If your roster has always floated at 18 people, this was made specifically so you stop declining.

Rotmire has no phase transitions. The encounter is a single loop that compounds. Pustule bursts apply stacking raid-wide DoTs that do not fall off. Rotmire boss mechanics punish slow kills above all else: so the primary strategy is to kill it fast. Doom Shrooms spawn when Shroomling and Fungling corpses land within 10 yards of each other. Keep the add types separated or watch your group dissolve. Sporecaps cast AoE poison and shoot random targets; they are not optional.
At 100 energy, Rotmire releases a Putrid Miasma, hits everyone for heavy Nature damage, knocks the raid back, and fully heals every living add via Fungal Frenzy. If your adds are alive when that fires, the next cycle starts harder. The fight does not forgive accumulation.
The Luminous Sporeglider mount requires four Delicious Sporesnacks, earned once per week per account on any difficulty. That is a four-week commitment for a glowing mushroom you fly on. Cosmetics from Rotmire: including the Mycomancer's Hearthspore and Madcap Redcap toy: drop on all difficulties. Your Raid Finder run is as valid as Mythic for cosmetics.
Completing the intro quest Sporefall: Rotmire once rewards a Nebulous Voidcore, the bonus-roll currency for all Midnight Season 1 content. Run the quest on any difficulty: the reward is identical regardless. The actual gear roll happens on your highest-difficulty kill, not the quest. Do not waste a Heroic lockout chasing quest credit when Normal gives the same Voidcore.
Warning: The Voidforge bonus-roll system had a rough launch in 12.0.5: duplicate rolls, database issues, refunds issued. Understand the conversion from Void-Twisted Sporbit before spending. Voidcore economy is load-bearing for your weekly loop now.
Sporefused trinket Sporefall: the Sporelord's Mycelial Insignia: grants a random secondary stat plus Leech on proc. At ilvl 298 on Mythic, it lands above standard Mythic trinkets without Ascendant Voidcore upgrades. The neck (Rotmire's Sporeheart) procs protective toadstools on heals. The ring (Sporecaller's Blooming Loop) procs Rotbloom on Nature damage, which detonates early if reapplied for 120% of remaining damage. These three pieces are Bind-on-Pickup and cannot be catalyzed.

Sporefused gear from Sporefall's Rotmire boss is Catalyst-eligible. Two pieces per armor class, ilvl up to 298 Mythic…

No. Only two pieces per armor class can be catalyzed. Neck, ring, and trinket are excluded entirely.
Not always. Waist and Feet pieces are not Tier Set slots. Check your specific class before using a Catalyst charge.
Yes: tier set chances, trinket re-rolls, a free Nebulous Voidcore, and cosmetics make it a mandatory weekly stop.
It's Bind-on-Pickup. You cannot. Confirm binding behavior after each patch before assuming otherwise and crying.
Flexible 15–25 players. First Mythic Flex raid in WoW history. Your 18-person roster is finally viable.
