SWTOR Tech Fragments Farm Guide 2026
Updated SWTOR Cartel Coins farm guide for 2026. Security key tips, Galactic Seasons CC, achievement farming: all methods ranked by effort and actually

Cartel Coins are SWTOR's premium currency, and BioWare will happily sell them to you for real money until your wallet surrenders. But there are actual, working methods to earn free CC in 2026: none of them fast, none of them glamorous, all of them better than paying. This guide covers every viable source, ranked by effort-to-reward ratio. The SWTOR free Cartel Coins meta has not fundamentally changed, but Patch 7.9 reshuffled a few priorities.
Attach a security key to your account. Get 100 free Cartel Coins every 30 days, no questions asked. Works for F2P, Preferred, and Subscribers. The only catch added in Patch 7.7.1: you must log in at least once in the last 30 days to receive the grant. Missing that is entirely your fault.
Use the SWTOR mobile app (iOS/Android) or Google Authenticator. Setup takes under five minutes. That's 1,200 CC per year for logging in and pressing a button. Refusing to do this makes you statistically bad at the internet.
The SWTOR security key bonus stacks on top of everything else below. Do it first. Do it right now if you haven't.
Subscribers receive 525 Cartel Coins per month as part of the recurring reward cycle: not 500, as some older sources claim. That's the current rate for recurring monthly subscribers. 60-day Game Time Cards also grant 525 CC per grant, twice per card.
Yes, you are paying money to receive currency that exists inside a game that already costs money. The galaxy's most elegant loop. Still, if you're subscribing anyway for gameplay access, those coins are effectively included. The SWTOR subscription remains the single highest-volume CC source per month.

In-game achievements are the only real source of CC for non-subscribers who refuse to spend money. As of Game Update 7.0, the achievement system contains a total of 900 Cartel Coins distributed across the entire achievement pool: earned once per account, never again. Do not expect to get rich. Expect to feel marginally less poor.
The math is grim. 900 CC total across years of content is not a fortune. Treat it as a nice side effect of playing normally, not an actual farming strategy. Chasing achievements specifically for CC is the SWTOR equivalent of collecting bottle caps after a nuclear war.
Galactic Seasons is a five-month limited event with a reward track. Subscribers get access to both tracks; F2P players only get the free tier. The subscriber track includes Cartel Coins and Ultimate Cartel Packs at certain milestones: the CC totals vary per season but are consistently the highest structured reward available outside of purchasing directly.
Earning points is straightforward: log in four times a week, do the daily objectives, complete up to seven weeklies of your choosing. Subscribers earn slightly faster. The Galactic Seasons CC rewards don't appear until the higher track levels: don't expect anything in week one. Season 10 ("Secrets of the Syndicate") is currently active and runs through mid-2026.
Smart play: grind the track unsubscribed, then resubscribe near season end to claim subscriber rewards retroactively. Bioware allows this. It is technically legal. It is absolutely the move.
The Friends of SWTOR referral system gives both the referring player and the new account bonus rewards. New or returning players (those who haven't subscribed in 90+ days) qualify. The referred player gets in-game items and a subscription week; the referrer receives CC and other bonuses depending on the current promotion.
The SWTOR referral program is not a repeatable farm: it's a one-time injection per friend you rope in. If you have a social life, exploit it. If you don't, this section is not for you.

You cannot directly exchange credits for Cartel Coins. What you can do is buy items from the Cartel Market with CC and sell them on the GTN (Galactic Trade Network) for credits: or alternatively, buy GTN items with credits that would otherwise cost you CC. The economy runs in one direction.
The Cartel Market front page rotates limited-time items. Some are scarce on the GTN and sell for significant credit amounts. If you have spare CC from a subscription, flipping Cartel Packs and limited-time bundles on the GTN is the most efficient credit return. This doesn't generate CC: it converts existing CC into in-game wealth, which is a separate problem entirely.

There is no exploit, no hidden method, no trick that yields large amounts of Cartel Coins without spending money in 2026. Anyone selling that idea is selling something worse. The methods above are what exists. They are modest. They work.
