PoE2 Twitch Drops: Return of the Ancients

Grinding Gear Games runs Twitch Drops campaigns tied to every major league launch. You watch streams. You get cosmetics. The cosmetics do nothing for your build. You will want them anyway because the Path of Exile 2 free cosmetics machine has been running since Early Access and shows no mercy.

For Return of the Ancients (May 29 – June 13, 2026), there are three rewards on the table: two for watching, one for spending. All are confirmed usable in both PoE2 and PoE1: because GGG knows some of you still haven’t let go.

Rewards at a Glance

The Wendigo Crown helmet attachment tracks monster kills across six categories and shifts its appearance accordingly. Congratulations, your hat has a body count. The Verisium Parasite Pet is your reward for subsidizing a streamer’s electricity bill twice.

How to Link Your Accounts

Linking your PoE account to Twitch is mandatory. Do it once, forget it forever, or spend the next campaign wondering why nothing dropped.

1. Go to pathofexile.com and log in.
2. Open Account Settings → Manage Account.
3. Scroll to Social Connections. Click Connect next to Twitch.
4. Authorize on Twitch. A confirmation message tells you it worked.
5. Make sure the PoE account you linked is the one you actually play on. Obvious, yet somehow a trap.

You must link accounts before the drops go live. Retroactive linking credits nothing. This is not a bug. This is character development.

How to Earn the PoE2 Twitch Drop Rewards

The Path of Exile 2 stream rewards system runs on accumulated watch time. It does not matter which channel. It does not matter if you mute the tab. It does matter that the channel is streaming PoE2 with drops enabled: look for the “Drops Enabled” tag or the “Watch to Earn Drops” box above chat.

1. Open Twitch. Find any PoE2 stream tagged Drops Enabled.
2. Watch. Accumulate 3 hours per week. Time is cumulative across channels.
3. When the bar fills, go to twitch.tv/drops/campaigns.
4. Click Claim within 24 hours. Unclaimed drops expire. Forever.
5. Log into PoE2. Open the Microtransactions shop. Collect your items.

Progress bars do not always update in real time. Refresh the Twitch inventory page before panicking and posting on Reddit.

Miss week one, miss the waypoint. The weeks do not stack retroactively. The GGG Twitch Drop schedule runs on server time, not your sense of urgency.

Things People Inevitably Get Wrong

• Watching a non-PoE2 stream and wondering why the Twitch Drops campaign isn’t progressing.
• Linking the wrong account: the one with 12 hours played in 2019.
• Waiting until day 14 to claim, then discovering the 24-hour claim window already passed.
• Trying to use a Twitch Prime sub for the paid pet. It does not count. It never counted. Read the terms.
• Assuming PoE1 and PoE2 share an account automatically. They do now: but only if you linked correctly.
• Watching a stream without Drops Enabled for three hours straight. A perfect waste of an evening.

None of these are exclusive forever. GGG has confirmed all PoE2 cosmetic rewards from Twitch Drops will appear in the Microtransactions shop eventually. So you can always pay for what you were too busy to watch for free.
