Marvel Rivals Path to Doomsday Tier List
Season 8 hits May 15. A dinosaur is now a playable tank. Peni Parker is still broken. Our full tier list for all roles is live: ranked, honest, no flu

Marvel Rivals Season 8 drops May 15, 2026, and the roster just grew by one dinosaur. Devil Dinosaur: a 65-million-year-old Vanguard who bites enemies until they bleed and charges through formations: is the 50th hero. Cyclops is imprisoned in the narrative and, separately, imprisoned in the mid-season update schedule until June. The meta is shifting. Not enough to save you. But enough to make everything you practiced irrelevant.
This guide covers every role separately: Vanguard, Duelist, Strategist: with distinct rankings for Diamond+ competitive and casual (Bronze–Platinum) play, because those are genuinely different games. It ends with a Team-Up tier list, because synergies are worth 20%+ win rate uplift and most players treat them as optional decoration.
Format: S = meta-defining. A = strong. B = functional. C = situational. D = charitable description. F = it exists.
Your life on the frontline. Your team's excuse for losing.
The best Vanguard Marvel Rivals Season 8 has exactly one universally correct answer at the top: Peni Parker. 59.7% win rate across all ranks. The mine field operates whether or not your team is conscious. Emma Frost received buffs entering Season 8: slower Telepathic Pulse decay, reduced Mind's Aegis cooldown, increased Diamond Form damage reduction: and was already capable of zeroing tanks from full health. The buffs removed her last inconveniences.
Devil Dinosaur enters the roster as an unrated newcomer. His kit involves a forcefield shield, a bleeding DoT applied through bites, a jaw-lock CC ability, and a behemoth charge ultimate that tramples through teams. His Season 8 team-up with Punisher: Primal Punishment: allows Punisher to ride on his back with shared healing and damage reduction. This is the current state of competitive hero design. We accept it.

Off-tank with genuinely low damage. Utility exists. So does regret. |

The best Duelists in Marvel Rivals Season 8 are Daredevil (57.8% win rate) and Storm (56.7%): both rewarding players who understand angles and cooldown management, both punishing teams that don't. Magik at 55.6% is technically a Duelist, but her CC output makes the classification feel like understatement. Season 8 buffs land on Spider-Man, Moon Knight, Squirrel Girl, and Star-Lord. Whether this elevates any of them from B to A tier requires ranked data that doesn't exist yet.
Black Cat has a full in-game economy system. Every hit grants Fortune currency, which funds a mid-match shop for portals, shields, and other tools. Her ceiling is stratospheric. Her floor is a confused person clicking random buttons while spending Fortune on nothing. She will rise. Eventually. Probably.

No Strategist sits at 59%+ win rate, which means the role rewards reads and adaptability more than hero selection. The Marvel Rivals Strategist tier list Season 8 sees White Fox getting buffs and Gambit holding S tier as the most complete support kit in the game: devastating ult, pivot-to-DPS threat, no meaningful weaknesses at any rank. Invisible Woman and Mantis receive adjustments heading into Season 8; Mantis's damage amplification and Invisible Woman's kit both see fine-tuning. Luna Snow remains perpetually correct. Cloak and Dagger is strong on dive compositions and asks very little of teammates in return.
Support players are the only people in casual ranked who consistently blame themselves when things go wrong. That character flaw is also why they win more games than anyone else.

The meta you're actually playing, not the one you're imagining.
At Diamond and above, the Diamond+ tier list Marvel Rivals narrows sharply. Execution gaps close, counterplay knowledge increases, and heroes that dominated lower ranks on raw kit strength get picked apart by people who've spent 200 hours learning their weaknesses. Peni Parker is still broken at every rank, which is either a design success or a scandal depending on how you feel about mine fields.
The 2-2-2 composition runs at a 54% win rate and 62% play rate. Nothing dethrones it at Diamond+. Triple-support exists as a variant and works in specific scenarios. Picking three Duelists and expecting your two tanks to hold is, statistically, how people stay in Diamond for three seasons.
* Devil Dinosaur rated B tentatively: no ranked data yet. Adjust after launch weekend.
A different game. Same map. Completely different experience.
The casual tier list Marvel Rivals Season 8 operates on different principles. At lower ranks, execution gaps and hero mastery outweigh theoretical meta strength. A comfortable B-tier pick you understand beats a struggling S-tier pick you don't. The heroes that dominate here are the ones who generate value without requiring teammates to do anything correctly: because they won't.
For Vanguards: Peni Parker, Doctor Strange, The Thing. All three operate semi-independently. Peni's mines work without coordination. Strange's portal disrupts even when misused. Thing refuses to die long enough to be useful. For Duelists, Hela, Squirrel Girl, Punisher are your reliable climb picks. Set up turret. Walk away. Win. For Strategists, Gambit, Rocket, Cloak & Dagger let you carry a broken team. The alternative is Invisible Woman requiring formations that your team treats as suggestions.
* Devil Dinosaur rated A tentatively for casual: brute simplicity of kit should translate well to uncoordinated play.
The Marvel Rivals team-up tier list Season 8 currently has 22+ active synergies, adding one fresh entry this season: Primal Punishment (Devil Dinosaur + Punisher). Team-up synergies demonstrably boost win rates by 20%+ above baseline performance when properly activated. Treating them as optional is how people lose games they should win. The anchoring mechanic is consistent: one hero provides a special ability to their partner, and receives a small passive buff in return.

Lucky Loan alone buffs three heroes simultaneously. If Black Cat, White Fox, and Captain America are all available on your roster, you are leaving S-tier synergy on the table by not running it.

Peni Parker. 59.7% win rate. If that's not convincing, no guide is.
Unconfirmed. Kit is disruptive. Expect inflated early win rates from mains.
Season 8.5, June 2026. He is imprisoned by Alchemax. Fitting.
Diamond+ if you're Gold or above and honest with yourself. Casual otherwise.
They boost win rates 20%+. Yes. Stop treating them as optional flavor.
