Fellowship Xavian Guide Tank
You play Mara in Fellowship and want easy damage, so use our guide for poison uptime, bleed procs, cooldown timing, and gear picks in dungeons!!!

You pick Mara and the game smiles, because it just found a player who likes tracking poison and bleeds while enemies politely wait for you to finish your homework. So how do you think. Is it been great idea at least to read Fellowship Mara Guide, and learn:
You play Mara as a melee DPS with a combo point builder and spender loop, where you build combo points with Backstab, Widow Spite, and Skittering Blades, then you spend with Queen’s Fang on single target or Arachnid Assault in AoE.
Your damage comes from keeping key debuffs active, then using cooldowns to boost resource gain so you can spend finishers often.
A simple rule helps you a lot: you avoid capping energy and combo points, and you press cooldowns when they are ready.
You apply Sething Poison by entering stealth and using Widow Spite, then you refresh it with Brooding Shadows plus Widow’s Bite when the debuff is close to ending, and you aim for full uptime.
You keep Hemorrhaging Strike running all fight, and you spend Hematotoxin procs using a six combo point Hemorrhaging Strike when procs happen.
You use Brooding Shadows as a stealth cooldown that also supports your resource loop, and you rest between pulls so you use charges before one wastes.

You spend talent points to support energy and combo point gain, then you add damage talents that change how your loop feels.
A bleed focused build is recommended in the source because it stays simple, while other builds can add extra damage with extra tracking.
Your first points go into Corrosive Spill, then you take Venomous Delight as your third point.
You use your cooldowns when they are ready, and the main exception is saving Maiden of Death for your ultimate, or saving it at the end of a pull.
Mara plays as a priority list, and you keep poison and bleed running while you spend combo points at good breakpoints. On single target, Maiden of Death mainly lets you build and spend again and again, so your priority list stays the same.

What you do |
Why it matters |
|
1 |
Enter stealth, then Widow Spite to apply Sething Poison. |
Poison uptime is a core damage anchor. |
|
2 |
Refresh Sething Poison with Brooding Shadows plus Widow’s Bite when it is close to ending. |
You keep your loop fed by debuff uptime. |
|
3 |
Keep Hemorrhaging Strike running, and consume Hematotoxin procs using a six combo point Hemorrhaging Strike. |
Procs give value, and bleed uptime stays high. |
|
4 |
Use Brooding Shadows Backstab as your main builder when poison is already handled. |
You build combo points for finishers. |
|
5 |
Spend five or six combo points on Queen’s Fang when you spend. |
Finisher value climbs with combo points. |
|
6 |
Spend charges so Brooding Shadows and Widow’s Bite avoid reaching max charges. |
Max charges means lost resources and lost damage. |
AoE stays similar, and Maiden of Death becomes a bleed spread tool because Gushing Blood lets Hemorrhaging Strike hit extra targets during Maiden.
|
Priority |
What you do |
Why it matters |
|
1 |
Keep Sething Poison uptime high with stealth openers and refresh windows. |
Poison uptime keeps your damage rolling. |
|
2 |
During Maiden, apply Hemorrhaging Strike to extra targets in the pack. |
Bleed spread is a big part of AoE output. |
|
3 |
Use Skittering Blades to build combo points, then spend with Arachnid Assault. |
Builder and spender swap for packs. |
|
4 |
Enter Arachnid Assault with four combo points as your baseline. |
Your spend feels smooth and planned. |
|
5 |
Use Brooding Shadows Skittering Blades to apply the exploding debuff, then let it expire before you apply it again. |
Early refresh wastes the explosion damage. |
|
6 |
Spend charges so Brooding Shadows and Widow’s Bite avoid reaching max charges. |
Max charges means lost resources and lost damage. |

You use Stalker Step to teleport behind your target and gain speed, and stealth stays active so you keep your opener plan intact. You use Shadow Protection for personal safety, then you use Enveloping Web to stun a mob and stop casts during danger moments.
Your stat order starts with item level, then expertise, then crit, then haste, and spirit sits last.
This order can change with your build, so you use it as a base rule.
You get strong Mara damage when you keep Sething Poison and Hemorrhaging Strike active, then you use Brooding Shadows and Maiden of Death to keep resources high so finishers keep coming, and after a few pulls your hands will do the tracking for you.

You build combo points with your builders, you keep poison and bleed uptime high, then you spend finishers on good combo point counts so your damage stays steady.
You enter stealth, you use Widow Spite to apply Sething Poison, then you move into your builder loop while you keep Hemorrhaging Strike active.
You spend the proc with a six combo point Hemorrhaging Strike, and you keep your bleed uptime high so your finishers land inside your debuff windows.
You swap to Skittering Blades and Arachnid Assault, you aim for four combo points on Assault, then during Maiden you spread Hemorrhaging Strike to extra targets.
You spend Brooding Shadows charges first, then you press Final Strategm so the reset gives you fresh energy, fresh combo points, and refreshed abilities for a finisher burst.
You push item level and expertise first, then you add crit and haste, and you consider Fateful Dagger for cooldown reduction plus Sin Binding Stone for a strong group defensive.
