The last Solar Titan build you'll ever need. Sandbox frozen, damage resistance stacked, hammer swinging forever in Destiny 2.
This Solar Titan build is frozen in amber. The sandbox is done receiving major changes, so whatever you build today still works in four years. The core loop is Wormgod Caress plus Throwing Hammer plus Smoke Jumper armor, and it turns every encounter into a damage resistant meat grinder. If you wanted a build that ages badly, look elsewhere. This one was engineered to be permanent, and permanence is the entire pitch.
Two armor sets carry this build. The two piece Smoke Jumper bonus grants a decaying 40% damage resistance whenever you pick up an orb of power, and triple Heavy Handed on your gauntlets guarantees an orb on every melee kill, so the resistance never really stops. Pair it with the two piece Legacy's Oath bonus from Deep Stone Crypt and powered melee kills release a disorienting pulse that stops nearby enemies from shooting back. Neither set has a cooldown attached to these effects, which is the entire reason this build refuses to die.
If raiding or running solo ops sounds like a chore, skip both sets and run the full four piece Nessus armor instead. A special finisher grants a roaming 29.5% damage resistance that lasts an entire engagement, and it is trivially easy to keep active with orb generation. It is objectively worse than Smoke Jumper plus Legacy's Oath, but it will not make you cry.
| Set | Pieces | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Smoke Jumper | 2 | Picking up an orb grants a rapidly decaying damage resistance, starting near 40%. |
| Legacy's Oath | 2 | Powered melee finishes release a disorienting pulse that stops nearby enemies from firing. |
| Nessus (alternative) | 4 | Special weapon finishers grant a 29.5% roaming damage resistance for a whole fight. |
Super choice barely matters here, so pick whatever animation you like watching. The throwing hammer is not optional, it is the entire build, and healing grenade covers the moments when your positioning was, generously, questionable. Everything else revolves around keeping that hammer in your hands and your melee meter full.
Worm God Caress remains the exotic of choice, stacking melee kills into up to 400% increased melee damage at five stacks, and it upkeeps itself effortlessly because you are meleeing every single enemy you encounter anyway. Weapon choice is closer to decoration than strategy. Something like Kavosttov 7x pulls extra orb generation for Smoke Jumper through its catalyst, and a one two punch shotgun is a fine substitute if you would rather not chase a specific gun.
Armor 3.0 replaced the old stat system, and 200 melee now grants a full 30% multiplicative damage increase, which stacks on top of everything Roaring Flames and Worm God Caress are already doing. Chase the new Skirmisher archetype specifically, since it rolls melee as the primary stat and weapons as the secondary, unlike the old Brawler pieces that wasted their secondary roll on health nobody asked for.
Stat | Target | Why |
|---|---|---|
Melee | 200 | Unlocks the full 30% multiplicative melee damage bonus. |
Super | 100 | Fastest possible super regeneration, in case you ever use it. |
Weapons | ~155 | Everything left over, since health, grenade, and class barely matter on this build. |
Artifact choice will not make or break anything here, since the build already does absurd damage without help. Still, mods that boost auto rifle damage resistance, refund grenade energy while Radiant, or amplify ignition radius all slot in cleanly if your artifact offers them.
Bonk everything within range. Orbs spawn from every kill, triggering Smoke Jumper's resistance. Melee finishes trigger Legacy's Oath and disorient anything nearby that survived. Worm God Caress and Roaring Flames keep stacking damage the entire time, so the loop is self sustaining and requires roughly zero thought once it is set up.
Two methods exist, and neither is fast. Running solo ops repeatedly is the more efficient route since completions grant a full 100 vanguard reputation each time, letting you focus Smoke Jumper pieces directly at Zavala. The lazier method is filling every exotic engram slot before running master lost sectors, since a full inventory forces the drop into your postmaster, where it becomes a guaranteed Smoke Jumper, tech, or Ferropotent piece instead. Neither method respects your time, but one respects it slightly less.
This is what a genuinely finished Destiny 2 Titan build looks like when the sandbox stops moving under it. Farm the pieces once, tune the stats once, and never think about your Solar Titan loadout again.

Worm God Caress, stacking melee kills into up to 400% bonus melee damage.
Smoke Jumper two piece plus Legacy's Oath two piece, or Nessus four piece as an alternative.
200 melee for the multiplicative bonus, 100 super, remainder into weapons.
Skirmisher rolls melee and weapons, avoiding Brawler's wasted health secondary stat.
Repeated solo ops, since each completion grants 100 vanguard reputation directly.
