Destiny 2 Weekly Reset July 21: Loot & God Rolls Guide

The Destiny 2 weekly reset landed Tuesday, July 21, and with it came a full refresh of Vanguard alerts, Eververse stock, featured raids and dungeons, and the weekly Grandmaster. The single most useful thing to know up front: Root of Nightmares and Garden of Salvation are this week's featured raids, both dropping Tier 5 gear on every encounter, no extra challenge required. If you only have time for one grind this week, that is it.

Bungie's live content pipeline is basically running on fumes at this point, so do not expect any actual new loot tables to show up out of nowhere. Everything below is a reshuffle of what already exists, dressed up as fresh content for the algorithm.

Vanguard Alerts and Active Orders

The quickplay node's additional challenge drops Main Ingredient this week, carrying the accelerated assault origin trait. Working through Active Orders still matters: once you clear a legendary order, you get escalating odds at an exotic one, and those can drop the new exotic catalyst for Monument of Triumph. Small pursuit, decent payoff, worth the five minutes.

Featured Raids and Dungeons

Desert Perpetual remains permanently featured, which by now is less a rotation and more a permanent fixture of the loot pool. This week's actual rotation adds Root of Nightmares and Garden of Salvation to the raid side, and Ghost of the Deep plus Shattered Thrones on the dungeon side. Equilibrium is the standing always featured dungeon. All of it drops Tier 5 gear without needing Master difficulty or bonus challenges, so run whichever fits your fireteam's mood.

• Garden of Salvation is also featured, same Tier 5 reward structure on every encounter.
• Ghost of the Deep is the featured dungeon offering Tier 5 gear with no extra challenge needed.

• Desert Perpetual stays perpetually available for Tier 5 drops regardless of weekly rotation.

Bungie confirmed there are no more planned live-service content updates after Update 9.7.0, which shipped with Monument of Triumph on June 9, 2026. What you are farming right now is the game, forever. Manage expectations accordingly.

Grandmaster Nightfall and PvP

This week's Grandmaster Nightfall is Warden of Nothing, rewarding the Ouster Engine, with Palindrome as the bonus challenge drop. On the PvP side, Jos's Long Sword sits as the bonus focus reward, while completing three Crucible matches unlocks Out of Bounds as the challenge weapon. Neither is going to reinvent your loadout, but free guns are free guns.

The Eververse bright dust rotation refreshes daily now, not weekly, so treat this list as a snapshot rather than a seven day window. The standout is the Flowing Phoenix ornament for Final Warning at 1,250 bright dust, alongside the Bronze Carapace ornament for Heart of Inmost Light, meaning all three exotic classes get an ornament option in the same rotation.

Knockout Punch at 3,250 bright dust for a legendary emote is a genuinely baffling price point, but nobody at Bungie is answering that question either. If bright dust is tight, prioritize the ornaments over the sparrow or ship, since cosmetic weapon skins age better than vehicle flexes nobody sees anyway.

Zavala's Weekly Weapon and God Rolls

Zavala is offering the Quav Victus this week, a strand machine gun, and the community's preferred god roll pairs Built to Blast with Killing Tally. Hatchling is also in the pool if you want a support-oriented roll, and Slice pairs well with either Kill Tally or Tear depending on whether you're running add clear or boss damage. A few different combinations are live this week, so check the actual roll before committing engrams to it.

Ada-1's Shader Legacy Stock

Ada-1 has her usual rotating legacy shader stock for 10,000 glimmer each: Satou Tribe (a genuine Black Armory classic), Gold Leaf from Season of Opulence, Dawn and Dusk, Watermelon, Monarchy Allegiance, and Bone Meal. None of it is exciting, but it is glimmer you were not spending on anything else anyway.

Trials, Iron Banner, and Ascendant Challenge Status

Trials of Osiris runs whenever Iron Banner is not active, rotating in roughly every other Friday. This week's Ascendant Challenge is Keep of Honed Edges, rewarding Dreaming City powerful weapons that now drop as tiered loot with refreshed perk pools following the Monument of Triumph update. If your goal is a specific god roll from that pool, this is the week to farm it before rotation moves on.

Bottom Line

This week's loot table rewards raid and dungeon runners over grinders chasing Eververse cosmetics. Root of Nightmares, Garden of Salvation, Ghost of the Deep, and Shattered Thrones are the actual time investment worth making. Everything else, the shaders, the emotes, the sparrow, is disposable glimmer and bright dust spending while you wait for your fireteam to log in.
