Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph Triumphant Rewards Pass Guide

Destiny 2's live-service era ends with Update 9.7.0: the Monument of Triumph update. Bungie's parting gift is the Triumphant Rewards Pass, a permanent reward track with no end date. It does not expire. It will not be vaulted. It will sit in your Rewards Pass screen indefinitely, judging you.

Unlike every seasonal pass that came before it, this one does not run on a timer. Finish it in a week or finish it in three years. The game will still be there. Whether you will be is your problem.

The pass lives in the Rewards Pass screen. It will not appear on the Monument to Seasons Past: because unlike those predecessors, it never ends.

How to Get It

Some of you already have it and don't know it. Lucky you. The Triumphant Rewards Pass free track is available to everyone. The premium track: the one with the cosmetics you actually want: follows this logic:

  • Own Renegades, Year of Prophecy, or Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition? You get it automatically. Nothing to buy.
  • Own nothing? Buy it separately in the Eververse Store.
  • Or purchase it bundled with The Edge of Fate, Renegades, or Destiny 2: The Collection.

The pass is not required to play Monument of Triumph content. Sparrow Racing League, Pantheon, and the Triumph challenge system are free. The pass sells you cosmetics. As always.

What You Get

Every item on the free track is earnable by everyone. The premium track rewards are locked behind purchase. Here is the breakdown:

Reward

Track

Details

XP Boosts (5 stages)

Free

Up to +15% Personal & Fireteam XP. Unlocks based on pass progress.

Bright Dust

Free

Earnable currency. All Bright Dust rewards are on the free track.

Chronologs

Free

Regular allotment included. Mainly earned via the Seasonal Hub.

Armor Ornament Sets (x2)

Premium

Two full sets. Cosmetic only. You knew that.

Shaders (x6)

Premium

Six shaders. Apply them to things. Feel something.

Accessory Sets (x2)

Premium

Ghost shells, Sparrows, or Ships depending on configuration.

Emotes (x2)

Premium

Two emotes to perform in the Tower while pretending you're fine.

Finisher

Premium

One finisher. For the enemies. Allegedly.

Holochip + Ghost Hologram

Premium

Cosmetic items. Minor. Included anyway.

Exotic Hand Cannon

Premium

Listed on the pass. Details subject to patch notes.

The Score Boost is gone. It has been replaced with the XP Boost system. Mourn it quietly and move on.

XP Boost System

The old Score Boost is dead. In its place: five stages of XP Boost progression tied to how far you've gotten on the Lawless Rewards Pass. Yes, your prior grind carries forward. No, you don't get to skip it.

  1. Progress earned on the Lawless Rewards Pass determines which XP Boost stages unlock automatically.
  2. Maximum boost: +15% Personal XP and +15% Fireteam XP.
  3. All five stages unlock passively: no separate grind required beyond what you've already done.

If you completed the Lawless pass, you start Triumphant with boosts already unlocked. If you didn't: well, here we are.

How to Rank It Up

The pass has no end date, which means there's no urgency. Which means most of you will procrastinate indefinitely. For those who won't:

  • Play anything. XP is XP. Activities, playlists, patrols: all of it feeds pass rank.
  • SRL (Sparrow Racing League) is back permanently. It counts.
  • Pantheon challenges are now permanent. Run them for XP and gear simultaneously.
  • Ritual playlists: Crucible Ops, Vanguard: still feed the pass.
  • Complete Monument of Triumph challenges and earn Legendary Marks on the side. Two birds, one grind.

Check vendor focusing options before burning activity currencies. Shaxx, Zavala, Saint-14, Banshee-44, Xur, Drifter, and Saladin have all been updated for the new system.

Currencies & Eververse

Bright Dust remains earnable. Weekly amounts have increased across all Seasonal Hub sources. Bright Engram Focusing is new: spend Bright Dust to guarantee a focused Bright Engram drop from a category you choose: shaders, emotes, finishers, Exotic weapon ornaments, or Exotic armor ornaments. Focused Engrams only award items you don't already own.

Eververse is shifting to an evergreen state. A Daily Offers tab launches immediately with Update 9.7.0, cycling Silver and Bright Dust offers each day. Broader Eververse changes roll out from June 23. Chronologs are now the primary buyback currency at Zavala: not Bright Dust.

Why This Exists

Update 9.7.0 is Destiny 2's final planned content update. The game does not shut down: servers stay online, all content remains accessible based on your existing ownership. But no new seasons, expansions, or passes are coming after this. The Triumphant Rewards Pass is the last one. Ever.

As a send-off, Monument of Triumph brings back Sparrow Racing League permanently, installs Pantheon as a fixed endgame mode, and introduces a Legendary Marks reward system redeemable at four Tenet vendors in the Tower Courtyard. Notable earnable rewards include Chatterwhite, Superblack, Fafnir, Heir Apparent, the Immortal Legend Armor Ornament Set, and the Einherjar Coronet.

Legacy rewards from retired seasonal events: Festival of the Lost, The Dawning, Guardian Games, Solstice: have been redistributed into permanent vendor engrams and Bright Engram Focusing. They're not gone. They've just been reorganized into a system you'll have to learn.

Login Rewards at Launch

Bungie is briefly generous. Log in when Update 9.7.0 goes live and receive:

  • 2x Bright Engrams
  • 50 Legendary Marks
  • Toast of the Monument emblem

Legacy accounts that participated in every major Destiny 2 expansion also receive the Old Lights emblem and the Elemental Qi emote. No action required: it's just there if you earned it. Destiny 2 veteran players who stuck around through everything get a quiet nod.
