There are at least five separate methods to unlock free operators during Season 3 Reloaded. Some require login-level effort. One requires completing a boss fight in a free-to-play mode you have probably never launched. One is exclusively for U.S. military veterans. None of them require purchasing the Battle Pass.

The headline event for Season 3 Reloaded is the RoboCop Event Pass, a mini Battle Pass with a free tier and a premium tier (1,100 COD Points). The free track runs automatically for everyone from April 30 to May 28. You progress it by earning XP in any mode: Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame, Warzone: all count.
The Greasy Punk operator skin is the instant login reward on day one. Log in during the event window, it's yours. No XP required. That is the lowest bar Activision has ever set, and they will still find a way to make you feel good about clearing it.
Grind far enough through the free track XP milestones and you unlock the Defiant Thug operator skin at Tier 7, along with the Siren Special Weapon, calling cards, emblems, and cosmetic filler they pad these passes with. The Siren also gets added to the Armory for anyone who misses the event: but the operator skins do not. Miss the deadline, miss the skin.
Note on the Premium Track: The premium track (1,100 CP) instantly grants the base RoboCop operator and, at max XP milestone, the Pristine RoboCop skin: described as a shiny purple variant of the classic design. Three total RoboCop character skins, weapon blueprints, and themed cosmetics. Not free. Not covered here beyond acknowledgment that it exists.
This is where things stop being casual. Endgame is currently free to play for a limited time during Season 3 Reloaded, which means you have no excuse not to try it: a cooperative squad-based PvE mode with repeatable boss runs and escalating difficulty zones.
Operation Broken Mirror (Act II) is the new challenge chain added with Season 3 Reloaded. Complete its 10-step mission chain to unlock three Aftershock operator skins: one each for Gado, Vermác, and Zei. At the end of the chain, you fight a Glitch boss called the Mega Abomination: a new Strike Boss unlocked in the final stage. Defeat it. Collect your skins.
Fair warning: unlike Operation Poison Pill (the previous chain, which starts from Zone 1), Operation Broken Mirror starts from Zone 3. You need a leveled character before you can touch it. The recommended path: complete Poison Pill first, level your character, then start Broken Mirror. Poison Pill also rewards its own set of three operator skins, meaning you can collect six free Endgame operator skins from Season 3 alone.
Camo bonuses: Earn 1 Aftershock skin to unlock the "Braincase" Weapon Camo. Earn all 3 to unlock the "Neon Gallows" Animated Weapon Camo. Because of course there are camos.
Totenreich is the new round-based Zombies map that launched with Season 3 Reloaded, set in the Norwegian town of Eidskallen now swallowed by the Dark Aether. World War II aesthetic. New Wonder Weapon (the Jotunn Star). New elite enemy type (the Necropincer). The usual Treyarch cocktail of suffering and mythology.
Complete the Totenreich Main Quest: the full Easter egg: and you earn the "Ambition" Richtofen operator skin, a calling card, and 10,000 XP. Complete the Totenreich Mastery Challenge on top of that for a second calling card and another 5,000 XP. Collect all Audio Logs, Documents, and Artifacts for a third calling card and 10,000 more XP.
Players who finish the Easter egg before Directed Mode arrives for Totenreich also unlock a unique Calling Card variant. This is the timed-exclusive carrot Treyarch dangles to make you do it now rather than later. It works every time.
Cursed Mode bonus: No HUD, starting pistol only, limited guidance. Earn the "Jade Legion" and "Crimson Legion" Pack-a-Punch camos plus 35,000 combined XP. Not an operator skin, but worth mentioning to those who enjoy scheduled self-torture.
The Call of Duty Endowment Navigator Tracer Pack releases in the store on May 4, 2026. It includes two operator skins: a scuba diver and an astronaut: plus weapon blueprints and a finishing move. One of the two skins is reportedly an animated ultra skin with a galaxy-and-stars astronaut helmet. As a bundle, it costs real money.
If you are not eligible, you can still purchase the bundle to support the Endowment's mission of placing veterans in quality jobs. Optional moral credit. Not free. Noted.
If you hold an active PlayStation Plus subscription and missed it during the initial Season 3 launch, Combat Pack #6 is still claimable. It bundles two separate rewards: the Momento Mori operator skin for Mason, and the Camo Shift animated blueprint pack. Claim both if you own neither. Own one, receive the other. Own both, receive nothing and reconsider your life choices.
Season 3 Reloaded free operator skins do not stay available forever. If you cannot do everything, do it in this order:
No. Endgame is currently free to play. You keep skins in Warzone after FTP ends.
May 28, 2026 at 10 AM PT. Miss it, and neither skin returns to the store.
No. Full Totenreich Main Quest completion required. No shortcuts, no store version.
No. ID.me verification required. Non-eligible players may purchase it in the store.
Yes. It begins at Zone 3. Complete Poison Pill first to level your Endgame character.
