Black Ops 7 Season 3 Reloaded Guide

Three maps. One original, two remasters. Treyarch is monetizing your nostalgia efficiently, at least they threw in something new to blunt the blow. The BO7 new maps Season 3 Reloaded rotation now includes a Japanese hot spring that very quickly stops being relaxing, and a Russian facility on a mountain that was iconic in 2010 and remains so now: whether you like it or not.

NEW: 6v6 / 2v2

Onsen

Remote hot spring in Yamanashi. A clandestine deal collapses. Compact, small-sized map. Fighting erupts past the Oni statue. No relaxation occurs.

REMASTER: Medium

Summit

Black Ops 1 icon. Dangerous Russian facility on a snow-covered mountaintop. Looks exactly the same, but the texture resolution has been updated. You will enjoy it anyway.

CARRYOVER: BO6

Hacienda

Carried over from Black Ops 6. Already a remaster itself. A remaster of a remaster, which is technically just the original with extra processing. Nothing to see here.

Freerun Mode: Ascent

Free Run returns to Call of Duty for the first time since Black Ops 3, 2015. The BO7 Freerun mode is a non-combat parkour time trial set on the Ascent map: a Guild-built training course divided into 10 zones, with 10 racers per match. It is confirmed as a permanent mode. Additional maps are planned for future seasons, which suggests Treyarch has decided this is worth keeping around. Probably because it works.

Later zones introduce Grappling Hooks and Wingsuits. Wall jumps, slides, spinning platforms, and weapon marksmanship targets unlock zone progression. Freerun is not gentle.

Heatwave Havoc is a support-rewarding LTM where cooperative non-lethal actions build your heat level and unlock increasingly obnoxious personal bonuses. It is designed to make you play as a team. Whether the community will comply is, statistically, unlikely.

• Medium Heat: Faster movement, sprint-to-fire speed, mid-air mobility
• Hot: Faster reloads, ADS speed, swap speed
• Extra Hot: Equipment refills on enemy elimination
• Extra Extra Hot: Increased damage and score for headshots

Freeze Tag is a 6v6 respawn mode. Eliminate enemies to freeze them; shoot frozen teammates to thaw them. Freeze the entire enemy team and trigger a Total Freeze: releasing everyone and awarding a score bonus to the freezing side. Proximity chat is enabled. Proximity chat with strangers is always a great idea.

Zombies

Totenreich

The Totenreich Zombies map takes place in the Norwegian fishing village of Eidskallen, pulled into the Dark Aether. A Shadowsmith of significant height is bound to the island. The Main Quest goes live at 9:00 AM PT on April 30. Complete it before Directed Mode arrives and you earn a unique Calling Card variant: a soft deadline Treyarch has left deliberately vague, because mild anxiety is a retention tool.

Key areas include the lighthouse, a downed giant, the town, and various facilities. The World War II aesthetic is intact. Group 935 presence has apparently reawakened things that were better left dormant, which is precisely the kind of judgment you expect from Group 935.

Necropincer: New Elite Enemy

The Necropincer enemy is an undead Viking warrior spirit: a Draugr: wearing a crab claw for a left arm. It wields a trident for stabbing at close range and throwing at distance. The crab claw blocks incoming shots and bludgeons. Treyarch is committed to making enemies that require actual attention.

Necropincer summoned by followers of the old ways. Said to protect Eid Skalin from invaders. Group 935 apparently qualifies. You, by extension, also qualify.

Jotunn Star: Wonder Weapon

The Jotunn Star wonder weapon is a chained Norse lantern. It drains the essence of eliminated enemies to fuel attacks. It is a melee weapon with ranged capabilities, which is a category of weapon that should not work but consistently does in Zombies.

Lantern Swing

Basic melee swing using the lantern as a blunt instrument. Drops advancing undead. Entry-level brutality.

Passive

Flame Charge

Drains essence from kills, stores energy. Enables Flame Tendril and Flame Strike. Doubles as warmth during Special Rounds when temperatures drop and slow movement.

Two+ Players

Flame Tendril

When two fully charged Jotunn Stars are active simultaneously, a fiery cord connects them and drains the life of anything caught between. Cooperative design that rewards not playing alone.

Charged Attack

Flame Strike

Concentrated explosive fireball discharged from stored energy. Damages and ignites. Straightforward. Effective.

New Tools & Field Upgrade

• Flammenfalle Trap: Shoots three jets of flame. Drop essence to activate. Seen in the preview.
• Wildfire Field Upgrade: Imbues with fire, increases speed, burns nearby enemies on contact.
• Wildfire Augments: Fireball (adds fire projectiles to attacks), Firestorm (fire tornado, pulls and burns), Free Radical (drops fire pools on ground), Flashover (every third pulse deals significantly more damage).

Cursed Mode begins with a pistol, no Main Quest guidance, and a limited HUD. For people who found the regular mode insufficiently punishing.

Endgame

Operation Broken Mirror

Operation Broken Mirror is the Act II content drop for the free-to-play Endgame mode. Infiltrate the Guild network, gather diagnostic data to develop a virus, locate the Virus Injection Glitch Fracture, and take on the Glitch Boss. Structurally similar to Act I: more challenges, more rewards, new operator skins. Endgame remains free-to-play for a limited time, accessible from the main menu or within Warzone and Black Ops 7.

• Thermal Spike: New Major Ability: powerful flame blast, enemies incinerate, fire persists in area
• Mega Abomination: New boss spawning in Nightmare Zones after defeating the Guild Strike boss. Guarantees exotic weapon case drop.

Complete Operation Broken Mirror with Vermaak, Zaveri, or Jurado to earn a Weapon Camo. Complete with all three for an Animated Weapon Camo.

Warzone

Hot Pursuit & Warzone Updates

The Hot Pursuit Warzone mode is a squad-based police vs. thieves LTM set across Avalon. Driving skills are required. If your driving skills in Black Ops 7 are what they were in every other Call of Duty, you are going to have a long session.

Team: Police

Police Vehicles

ATV, JLTV, Light Heli. Activate sirens to trigger radar pulse showing thieves on the mini map. Light Heli adds directional information. The only team that legally exists.

Team: Thieves

Thief Vehicles

UTV and Dirt Bikes. Speed and mobility over durability. Dirt bike activates Active Camo and drops smoke grenades. UTV boosts for increased speed. Carry special loot.

Prop Hunt Royale

48 players. 24v24. Rebirth Island. Round-based alternation between hunter and prop with over a dozen prop types available. It is Prop Hunt at the scale of a battle royale, which is either the best thing Treyarch has ever done to Rebirth Island or the most chaotic. Possibly both.

Spikes: New Buy Station Item

Available at Buy Stations after mid-season launch. Fallen operators lose their Spikes and must repurchase.

• Armor Salvaging: Immediately gain and equip an armor plate after eliminating an enemy
• Prone Firing: Greatly reduces weapon recoil while crouched or prone
• Handicraft: Regenerate equipment over time

Lethal Addition: Cluster Grenade

Expanding from Black Ops Royale into core Battle Royale and Resurgence. Cluster grenades, now available to everyone. Your opponents are thrilled.

Two new weapon classes arrive alongside the update. The Siren is a special-class weapon available as an event reward: described by those familiar with BO3 as functionally adjacent to the Banshee. The Katana is a new melee class weapon. Both come with dedicated camo tracks.

The Black Ops 7 mid-season update also ships new weapon attachments: the MK78 Light Machine Gun Light Frame PDW Conversion, Warden 308 Marksman Rifle, Badlands Pistol Kit, Carbon 57 Fabricator Mag, and the 45K SMG Apex Sleeper Rig. The last attachment in the list includes rounds that break apart mid-flight dealing damage with each piece. Because regular bullets were apparently insufficient.

RoboCop Event Pass

A collaboration that nobody requested and everyone will participate in anyway. Earn XP to unlock RoboCop-themed rewards on both free and premium tracks. The premium track costs 1,100 COD Points. The RoboCop operator skin and the Siren special weapon are among the confirmed rewards. There is also a Terry Crews cosmetic bundle arriving separately, because Season 3 Reloaded apparently decided restraint was optional.
