BO7 Season 3 Reloaded Attachments Guide
The BO7 Freerun Ascent Challenge Event is live May 5–14, 2026. Seven free rewards including the Networked animated camo
The Black Ops 7 Freerun Ascent event is a limited-time challenge track layered on top of the new Freerun mode that shipped with the Season 3 Reloaded update on April 30, 2026. It is a parkour time trial: ten players, one Guild-built tower course, ten escalating zones. No eliminations. No killstreaks. Just you, your thumbs, and a map that gets progressively more sadistic the further you get.
The mastery reward is the Networked animated camo: universally applicable to every weapon in every game mode. It is the only animated camo in this event and, frankly, the only reason most people will bother. Everything else on the reward track is a consolation prize with a business-casual dress code.
Note: Warzone players cannot participate. This event is Multiplayer-exclusive, which means the game has decided your wallet-only lifestyle does not entitle you to parkour cosmetics.

Before touching the Ascent Freerun course, go into your settings. Two options will materially affect your performance in ways that hours of practice cannot fully compensate for.
Keeps you at maximum velocity through transitions without requiring you to re-input the sprint command after every obstacle. Losing momentum mid-zone because you forgot to tap a button is not skill expression. Enable it.
Prevents you from locking up against side pillars when your wall jump input is slightly mistimed. Faults from failed wall jumps are the most avoidable faults in the game. This setting removes most of them.
A full run of Ascent yields approximately 132 checkpoints if you finish the course. Three complete matches and this is done. There is no trick. There is no way to accelerate it. Play three games. Collect checkbox. Move on with your life.
The Cyberize camo unlock requires six top-five finishes, which assumes a minimum of six full runs with no bad lobbies. Since lobbies contain ten players, placing top five requires you to beat exactly half the room: a low bar that will feel embarrassingly high the first time a movement-optimized player materializes in your game and finishes Zone 6 while you are still reading the wall of Zone 3. Memorizing shortcuts helps. A good speedrun reference to study is the sub-8-minute Ascent completion by Devils, which demonstrates several skips most players miss.
This challenge spreads across as many matches as needed. You do not have to complete all three fault-free zone sequences in a single game. Run the first three zones cleanly each match and this challenge resolves itself without drama. Zones 1-3 represent the easiest segment of the BO7 Season 3 Reloaded Freerun course by a significant margin.
With ten players per lobby, placing top eight means outperforming exactly two people. At least two to four players in most early lobbies have no meaningful experience with the course. The actual constraint here is the fault ceiling. Fewer than 15 faults requires basic spatial awareness: knowing where ledges end, not sprinting through grapple zones blind, and understanding that every missed wall jump is a fault that gets logged against you. Slow is smooth. Smooth is top eight.
The fault limit matters more than your finishing position for this challenge. Fifteen faults is generous. Use that budget deliberately rather than burning it before Zone 5.
Yes, they ask for a top-five finish twice across the event. The first instance rewards the Cyberize camo at six repetitions; this standalone challenge rewards a calling card. If you have been grinding the earlier challenges, you have almost certainly completed this one already without meaning to. Carry on.
The Wild Run Kogot-7 blueprint is the penultimate reward and the first challenge that requires you to actually be competent, not just present. Top three means beating seven of the ten players in your lobby. The course layout is fixed every run: no procedural variation, no randomized zones. Time spent learning Zone 7 through 10 (the grapple hook and wingsuit sections) pays off here more than anywhere else. Players who memorized the playlist challenge speedrun prior to this event will reach this bracket faster than anyone starting cold.
The Networked animated camo mastery unlock requires a sub-17-minute completion. The match time limit is 20 minutes, which means you have three full minutes of buffer from the ceiling. Most players with two or three runs of experience complete the course somewhere between 14 and 16 minutes. If you have played BO3 Free Run or MW3 Get High and understand the basic vocabulary of a parkour obstacle course in Call of Duty, this challenge will register as complete before you consciously attempt it. For everyone else: stop dying in Zone 8.

The Ascent map guide below reflects the 10-zone structure of the Guild Tower course.

In the target-shooting segments, your teammates will miss. Shoot every target yourself as if they do not exist, because functionally they do not. The double zip-line section has a second target hard-left that the majority of players ignore completely. You are not most players. Probably.
Parallel to this event, the BO7 Freerun playlist rewards exist as a separate challenge track that launched with the mid-season itself. Those rewards include the Innovate universal weapon camo (for completing the course in under 14 minutes with fewer than 10 faults), the Scaled emblem, and the Upswing charm (requiring collection of all 18 Ciphers hidden across the course). Those challenges are harder. The rewards are less impressive. Completionists will do both. Rational people will prioritize this event first while the window is open.
The Cipher locations spread across all ten zones. Zone 1 alone has two: one immediately right after the Zone 1 tunnel at Checkpoint 4, and one on the platform after the first spinning cylinder at Checkpoint 14. A full cipher guide is outside the scope of this document: and your patience.
