BO7 Kowakujo Easter Egg Guide: Full Walkthrough
Leon Kennedy may be coming to Black Ops 7's Haunting event. Here's what the leaks say, who the operators might be, and why BO7 is the only game...

Every October, Call of Duty runs The Haunting: its annual Halloween event that shoves horror IP into a military shooter and charges you for the privilege. The BO6 edition dropped October 9, 2025, featuring Jason Voorhees, Chucky, and the Predator. Black Ops 7 is next in line, expected around October 2026 for its own Season 6.
The Resident Evil crossover has been circling this franchise like a starving zombie since at least 2024. Data miners, leakers, and a suspiciously well-timed reply from Leon Kennedy's own voice actor suggest the deal is either already done or was done and got killed by Activision's endless internal drama about "brand consistency."
The tweet that started this: The voice actor for Leon Kennedy: a man named Nick: replied "Imagine that" to a fan post asking for a Resident Evil x COD collab. He was not tagged. He found it anyway. Draw your own conclusions.
Capcom is not shy about Resident Evil crossovers. The franchise has appeared in Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, Rainbow Six Siege, Dead by Daylight, and more. Call of Duty, which has zombies baked in, is the most obvious fit they've left on the table.
Modern Warfare 4 is going for a grounded milsim aesthetic. No Zombies mode. Activision has already committed to realism-first cosmetics there. Putting Leon Kennedy in tactical gear next to a soldier named "Gary" would be embarrassing even by COD standards.
Black Ops 7 has a Zombies mode. It already runs a third-person camera option in that mode. The Call of Duty Haunting event has a documented history of doing exactly this: horror franchise in, chaos out. Previous entries featured Michael Myers, Ghostface, Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface, Billy from Saw, and eventually Chucky. Resident Evil is the obvious next step.
Treyarch canceled Carry Forward: the system that let BO6 skins transfer to BO7: which means whatever drops in BO7 stays in BO7. For a collab of this scale, that's actually fine. It kills the "why bother" argument for waiting until MW4.
Timeline logic: Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) launched February 2026. A story expansion is expected late 2026 or early 2027. Capcom would have zero reason to turn down free marketing from the world's highest-grossing shooter franchise right before their DLC drop.
Based on data miner reports from the BO6 era and patterns from previous Haunting events, here's the realistic content breakdown. Nothing below is officially confirmed by Activision or Treyarch as of this writing.

Capcom has approved the following characters for crossovers in other games. COD operators need a "tactical" excuse to exist. These clear that bar:
The Leon Kennedy COD operator has been the community's number-one requested skin since at least 2023. If Activision knows this and still hasn't done it, either the deal fell through or they're saving it for maximum impact. Both possibilities are equally frustrating.
COD's Halloween event has been running annually for years. It always lands in Season 6, always drops around October, and always comes with horror collabs that range from "genuinely cool" to "legally, this counts as horror."

The BO6 Haunting ran October 9 to November 14, 2025. BO7's Season 5 is expected to end around September 2026 based on the game's leaked roadmap, putting Season 6: and The Haunting: squarely in October. The pattern holds.
Treyarch confirmed that several major brand collabs were canceled for Black Ops 7 before launch. The studio rejected anything that clashed with the game's scaled-back cosmetic philosophy after the BO6 backlash over Beavis and Butt-Head, American Dad, and cell-shaded skins running alongside soldiers. Resident Evil sits at the edge of that line. It's horror-adjacent and shooter-compatible, but it's also anime-adjacent and franchise-loud.
The Carry Forward cancellation also potentially gutted a collab that was already in motion. If Leon Kennedy skins were built for BO6 and meant to transfer, they don't transfer anymore. Whether that kills the deal or just delays it to BO7 natively is unknown.
There's also the MW4 question. If Activision decides to hold Resident Evil for the next annual COD release (expected 2026 holiday), the collab either gets retrofitted into a realistic mil-sim world where it looks absurd, or it waits for Treyarch's 2028 entry. Neither is ideal.

No. Leaked by data miners. Leon Kennedy's voice actor teased it. Activision has said nothing official.
Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong per leaks. Jill Valentine and Wesker are speculated additions based on community demand.
No official date. Season 6 historically launches in October. BO7's schedule points to mid-to-late October 2026.
Carry Forward is dead. What's in BO7 stays in BO7. Budget accordingly.
BO7 has a Zombies mode, third-person options, and a horror-friendly Haunting event. MW4 is a grounded milsim with no Zombies.
