ARC Raiders Scrappy Feeding Boost Guide

Before this update, once you had fully maxed Scrappy's five upgrade tiers, all those lemons and apricots and prickly pears you kept finding had zero purpose. They sat in your stash like a passive-aggressive monument to your farming efforts. Flashpoint fixed this oversight with a queue-based feeding system: and, in a twist nobody anticipated, the results can occasionally produce Legendary-tier crafting materials normally gated behind killing the hardest bosses in the game.

The situation Players are reporting Legendary-grade ARC reactors showing up in their Scrappy inbox: items that typically require slaughtering a Queen or Matriarch. The rooster has connections. Nobody is asking follow-up questions.

This guide covers everything: what the Scrappy resource bonus Flashpoint system actually does, which foods unlock which materials, where to find those foods without losing your mind, how the queue works mechanically, and whether any of this justifies the time investment in a game where a laser drone is currently hunting you from the sky.

What the Feeding Boost Actually Is

The Feeding Boost is a passive companion enhancement attached to your Workshop rooster. Navigate to the Workshop, select Scrappy, and switch to the Feed tab. From there you select food items from your Stash and load them into the queue. Scrappy burns through one food item per completed raid, applying that item's bonuses to the run's loot collection. The results arrive in his Collection Box when you get back.

There are two distinct reward types per food item, running simultaneously:

Category

Detail

Description

Reward Type 01

Feeding

A special bonus item after the raid: gear, equipment, or crafting materials tied to a specific crafting station type.

Reward Type 02

Resource

An increased rate of a specific base material (Metal Parts, Fabric, Chemicals) stacked on top of Scrappy's existing passive collection.

Queue Size

6 Slots

Up to six food items queued at once. Scrappy works through them one per run; no need to babysit between sessions.

Min. Level

Accessible at Scrappy level 1, though higher levels meaningfully improve reward quality. Max the bird for premium rewards.

he system operates entirely in the background. Feed Scrappy, go raid, extract, and check the Collection Box. That box has a capacity limit: if you play three sessions consecutively without clearing it, you are potentially leaving Legendary loot uncollected while you were busy bleeding out in a corridor.

Queue order is not decorative Scrappy processes food in the exact order you set it. If Metal Parts are your priority and apricots are queued behind five agaves, you will get exactly zero Metal Parts until those agaves are consumed. Set the queue intentionally or accept the results.

Every Food Item and What It Does

Apricots earn S-Tier for one specific reason: the Gunsmith material table includes ARC reactors. The Scrappy apricot metal parts loop is solid for mid-game Metal Part shortages, but if you have unlocked energy weapon blueprints like the Jupiter or Aphelion, apricots give Scrappy a documented chance of producing Queen and Matriarch reactors: items typically requiring you to personally murder the game's most dangerous enemies. Whether that feels rewarding or quietly offensive is your own business.

Fruit Mix is a crafted consumable: one lemon, one apricot, one prickly pear. It provides boosted probabilities across every material category simultaneously. If you have the ingredients and the patience, ARC Raiders Scrappy queue sessions running Fruit Mix are the most efficient option for general resource generation without having to pick a single material priority.

The herbal bandage floor The lowest-value Feeding Reward reported so far is a herbal bandage. Not extraordinary. But having a functional consumable as the floor is more than most extraction game side mechanics offer. The ARC Raiders Scrappy herbal bandage outcome is the worst-case scenario, not the average.

Where to Farm the Food Without Losing the Will to Play

The ARC Raiders Flashpoint update Scrappy mechanic sounds elegant until you realize maintaining a reliable food supply means repeatedly hunting organic items across a map full of machines that want you dead. Here is where each food item is found:

Apricots: The Most Contested Fruit in the Rust Belt

Red Lakes on Dam Battlegrounds offers the safest apricot farming: low traffic, adequate spawn density, relatively open sightlines without being murderous. Marano Park in Buried City and the Olive Grove on Blue Gate also produce apricots, with the Olive Grove doubling as a kill corridor with long sightlines and aggressive ARC patrols. Each tree drops one to four apricots on the ground and up to three more via direct interaction. Do not grab three and leave. You will always, always need more.

Lemons: Same Location, Different Anxiety

Blue Gate's Olive Grove and the gardens near Library and Town Hall in Buried City. The Olive Grove supplies both lemons and apricots simultaneously, which is efficient until you factor in the elevated likelihood of being shot while bent over a citrus tree. The Buried City library gardens are considerably quieter.

Olives: Blue Gate Again, Yes

Primarily the Olive Grove. All three of the most demanded fruits occupy the same high-risk zone, because why give players anything convenient. Secondary quantities appear in container searches at kitchen locations across all maps, including the Stella Montis fridge area: which, as of Flashpoint, also hosts Shredders who have been granted unrestricted access to every map.

Mushrooms: The Contested Shelf Fungi Crisis

Wooded pockets on Spaceport and southern ruins in Buried City. Mushroom scarcity is serious enough that ARC Raiders players have reportedly come to in-game violence over spawn points. The ARC Raiders rooster companion guide community has taken to calling this the Mushroom War, which says something about how this game's economy functions. Lushbloom events dramatically improve spawn rates: plan around them.

Prickly Pears & Agave: Desert Map Business

Prickly pears spawn on the ground around cactus plants in Buried City's southern cactus groves and Dam Battlegrounds near the Power Generation Complex. They do not grow directly on the plant: look at the ground beneath cacti. Agave plants are less documented but found across the same desert-adjacent zones.

Stella Montis fridge: where things get ugly The fridge location at Stella Montis reliably spawns baskets containing a variety of food items and will become one of the game's most hotly contested farming points. It is also inside the building where Shredders now patrol freely. There is no clever way to phrase this: you are farming food in a building full of things that will kill you quickly.

Lushbloom Events: The Only Time Farming Is Tolerable

The Lushbloom weather modifier triples organic item spawn rates across every map. Scrappy food items ARC Raiders farming should be scheduled around this event whenever the schedule permits. During Lushbloom, secondary locations that normally yield two or three fruits per visit become full harvest runs capable of filling the entire six-slot queue in a single deployment.

Running the System Without Squandering It

The feeding mechanic is designed to require minimal active management. That also means it is trivially easy to neglect entirely and gain nothing. The Scrappy legendary loot ARC Raiders outcomes are real but require the system to actually be running. Here is the operational loop that avoids waste:

  1. After every extraction, visit the Workshop before doing anything else and empty Scrappy's Collection Box. The box has a capacity cap. Leaving it full across multiple sessions wastes subsequent rewards.
  2. Switch to the Feed tab and inspect the queue. If it is empty, load up to six items in priority order based on your current crafting deficit: not whatever you have the most of.
  3. If you are below Scrappy level three, focus on upgrade materials first. The Feeding Boost is available at level one but returns improve substantially with each tier. Feeding premium fruit to a level-one Scrappy is charitable at best.
  4. For dedicated Metal Parts or energy weapon crafting runs, queue pure apricots. Mixing food types dilutes focused material runs.
  5. Queue Fruit Mix when you want broad material coverage without maintaining a specific priority. It costs craft materials to produce but saves the decision-making overhead.
  6. Spending under one minute in a raid results in no Scrappy collection at all: and the food item is still consumed. The rooster does not negotiate on this. The minimum is one minute.

Across dozens of raids, the system compounds noticeably. It is not spectacular in any single session: the floor is a herbal bandage, after all: but a consistently running apricot queue on a max-level Scrappy produces a steady stream of materials that meaningfully offsets crafting costs over time.

Scrappy Upgrade Tiers: Still the Foundation

The Feeding Boost exists on top of the existing upgrade system. Max-level Scrappy returns meaningfully better Feeding Rewards than a level-one bird eating identical food. Completing the upgrade tree before investing heavily in the feeding loop is the correct order of operations. Full upgrade requirements:

ARC Raiders Scrappy Feeding Boost Guide FAQ

Does the feeding queue persist between play sessions?

Yes. Food items stay queued until consumed by a completed raid. No need to re-queue each session.

Can Scrappy actually produce Legendary ARC reactors from apricots?

Confirmed by players post-Flashpoint, but only after relevant energy weapon blueprints are unlocked in your account.

If I die before extracting, does the food item get consumed anyway?

Yes. Scrappy consumes it regardless. Dying before one minute topside means no rewards and a wasted food slot.

Is a herbal bandage really the best Feeding Reward possible?

No: that appears to be near the floor. Legendary crafting materials and rare equipment are documented outcomes at higher levels.

Does Scrappy level one feeding produce the same quality as level five?

No. Higher Scrappy levels meaningfully improve reward quality. Max the upgrade tiers before expecting premium drops.
