Apex Legends Power Trip Event

The Apex Legends Power Trip event runs June 2 through June 23, 2026. Respawn injected the Outlands with experimental, biology-altering stims, then handed everyone five rounds of increasingly unhinged Wildcard gameplay and called it a patch. For once, the chaos is intentional.

Each Wildcard session runs five rounds. Some are normal. Most are not. Round modifiers apply to every Legend simultaneously: there is no opting out. Wildcard round modifiers reset between rounds, so the lobby that shrank you in round three can wall-run on your face in round four.

For the first time, Wildcard has its own dedicated map rotation: Kings Canyon, Olympus, and Broken Moon cycling every 15 minutes. Storm Point was mentioned pre-launch and then quietly replaced. Classic Respawn communication.

The Ones That Will Break You Specifically

Small Fry: Shrink Serum

Apex has balanced around hitbox readability since launch. Revenant cannot become the size of a backpack because visual clarity matters in a game where milliseconds decide fights. Wildcard has decided it does not care. Small Fry shrink modifier will disproportionately benefit large-hitbox legends like Gibraltar and Caustic: the characters who have been a liability in every other mode suddenly become slippery murder-geckos. High-level players have already flagged that Revenant, already strong, becomes absurd when tiny.

Crouching Camo

Someone at Respawn approved making every building into a trust exercise. Crouch to go invisible. Combat breaks the cloak, so the threat window is the silence before the fight. Controller players will aim-assist into walls. Keyboard players will pixel-peek themselves into paranoia. Nobody wins: which is, presumably, the point.

Red Handed: Mythic Weapons

The Apex Legends Mythic weapons mode hands everyone Mythic-tier weapons from drop. The Kraber, the EPG, the knife, the bat. Titanfall veterans have been waiting specifically for EPG availability inside Apex, and Storm Point: sorry, Broken Moon: is about to look like a Titanfall arena with worse framerate. Apex's standard loot-and-scale loop does not exist in this round. You get a Kraber. Figure it out.

Ash Prestige Skin: Apex Ascendant

After dangerous experimentation, Ash has "mutated beyond the limits of Simulacrum technology." The marketing copy practically wrote itself. The Ash Prestige skin Apex Legends: officially titled Incisive Instigator (Tier 1): comes with a custom Finisher, a unique Dive Trail, and several upgrade tiers that Respawn will absolutely sell separately.

How to Get It Without Crying

• Open all 24 limited-time event items from Power Trip Event Packs.
• Once the entire reward pool is collected, the Tier 1 Prestige Skin unlocks automatically.
• The event store runs 25 new cosmetics: bio-enhanced Legendary skins for Wraith, Octane, Lifeline, Bangalore, and Fuse.
• Some packs are earnable free via the Event Prize Track. Most require purchasing.
• Full collection runs roughly $150 USD. The community will complain, then buy it.

After the event ends June 23, these cosmetics move into the standard Apex Pack pool at a 0.01% Mythic drop rate. Good luck with that.

Complete daily event challenges to earn Power Trip event Vials rewards, which are spent at the Power Trip Reward Shop. Free tracks include an Epic Gibraltar skin in Phase 1, an Epic Gibraltar Banner Frame in Phase 2, and an Event Pack. Weekly challenges unlock Thematic Packs for temporary Legend unlocks: Ash, Conduit, and Vantage are available as free trial characters during the event period.

Ranked Got Fixed: Briefly Mentioned, Actually Important

Alongside the chaos, Respawn shipped actual infrastructure work. Apex Legends rank boost matchmaking fix addressed re-queue tier restrictions that had been silently creating lobbies with ludicrous skill gaps: ALGS-level teams matched against squads still learning to ping. That is patched. Tighter skill brackets are now enforced on re-queue, which is the single most requested competitive fix for the last several seasons.

Additional patch notes: Xbox voice comms re-enabled, enemy health bar display corrected, XP for respawning teammates from deathboxes now works correctly, PS5 and Switch graphic settings stabilized, and various Legend ability bugs for Ash, Crypto, Ballistica, and Gibraltar addressed.

How to Not Immediately Die

1. Read the round modifier before you land. Dropping into a Blind Box round without checking is how you spend two minutes building a Mozambique loadout.
2. In Crouching Camo rounds, treat every corner as occupied. It probably is.
3. Featherweight changes your trajectory mid-gunfight. Strafe into a shot and your own recoil yeetes you off the platform. This will happen once. Learn from it.
4. Small Fry round: prioritize large-hitbox legends. Gibraltar and Caustic become dramatically harder to hit. Pick accordingly.
5. Red Handed round: positioning beats everything. Everyone has a Mythic weapon. The fight goes to whoever has high ground, not better loot.
6. Explosive round: leave buildings. There is no cover when the entire lobby has infinite grenades.
7. Earn Vials every day. Daily challenges cost nothing. The Reward Shop is on a timer. June 23 is not a soft deadline. But Apex Legends badge boost can solve it!
