MoP Timewalking Guide | Midnight Edition
WoD Timewalking is live until May 19. Farm 6 dungeons for Timewarped Badges, grab exclusive mounts, toys and transmogs
The Timewalking Dungeon Event scales you down to an appropriately embarrassing power level so you can revisit Draenor and pretend the expansion had a satisfying amount of content. Any character level 10 or above can queue; gear scales to your level; and you earn Timewarped Badges — the one currency that, thankfully, does not expire between events.
During this event you also get the Sign of Iron buff: a flat 50% bonus to all reputation gains from kills and quests for every major Draenor faction. If you've been putting off finishing those reps, now is the one week where the grind is slightly less punishing. Congratulations on your incentive.
TL;DR — Queue dungeons, collect badges, buy stuff from Ashran. The event runs until May 19, 2026. If you miss the mounts this cycle, enjoy waiting until roughly November.
There are three quests worth your attention. The first and most important: at max level, pick up A Savage Path Through Time from your Adventure Journal or from the quest board. Complete 5 Timewalking dungeons. Receive a Cache of Quel'Thalas Treasures containing a piece of Champion or Hero tier gear for your spec. This is the only gear upgrade this event will hand you, so do not skip it.
Below max level, completing your first dungeon of the week automatically offers A Savage Journey Through Time. Same deal: 5 dungeons, then collect your Timely Goodie Bag with spec-appropriate loot. Whether the loot will be useful is between you and the RNG gods.
Finally, the last boss of any dungeon drops The Shimmering Crystal. Turn it in to Tempra (Alliance) or Kronnus (Horde) for 500 badges on your first character that week, and 200 badges on each subsequent alt. Run it on every character you own. This is the single best passive badge source available and it requires zero effort beyond not being dead at the end of a dungeon.
Six dungeons are available, assigned randomly via the Dungeon Finder. You cannot select a specific one, because Blizzard enjoys the element of surprise and you do not get a vote. Badge counts below assume a full run; Timewarped Badge farming efficiency is roughly equal across all six, so simply run until you have what you need.

Badge breakdown per dungeon: 10 per non-end boss, 20 for the end boss, plus 25 for dungeon completion. Grimrail Depot yields fewer badges than the others due to having fewer bosses — a fun extra insult on top of the train gimmick that has aged like warm milk.
The Everbloom has an optional path that yields an extra 10 badges for a full clear. Whether it's worth the additional time is entirely your problem. Shadowmoon Burial Grounds remains one of the better-designed dungeons of the era; you are welcome for the one compliment in this guide.
Both vendors are in Ashran, the zone that existed solely so WoD could pretend it had PvP content. Get there via the portal room in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Alliance players navigate to Tempra in Stormshield /way #622 37.2 72.6. Horde players find Kronnus in Warspear /way #624 42.8 54.6. Both sell identical inventory. Tempra is a bronze dragon in dwarf form; Kronnus is one in Mag'har orc form — because even time-traveling dragons respect faction aesthetics.
Reminder: Timewarped Badges persist between events. If nothing this week tempts you, save them. The currency does not go anywhere. Unlike the expansion itself, which nobody voluntarily revisits.

Four mounts are available this week. Three are WoD-exclusive and only purchasable during this specific Timewalking event. Miss them now and your next opportunity is around November, or later if the post-Dragonflight Timewalking schedule shifts. You were warned.

At 75 badges per dungeon and a Shimmering Crystal turn-in worth 500, grinding to 5000 will take you approximately 60–65 dungeon runs. The Nightfall Skyreaver is a recolor of the Iron Skyreaver shop mount. The Beastlord's Irontusk is an unusually fire-tinged elekk skin that doubles as the base model under the Armored Irontusk's plating, a fact that will consume zero seconds of your life but is technically interesting.
Two toys, both cosmetic, neither of them particularly game-changing. The Apexis Focusing Shard channels an orange beam of light between you and a target for one minute. It has a 10-minute cooldown, which ensures you will use it twice and then forget it exists. Costs 500 badges. The Banner of the Burning Blade slaps a Burning Blade clan banner on your character's back for 10 minutes on a 1-hour cooldown. Costs 750 badges. Buy them for completionist purposes and never think about them again.

This is where the vendor actually earns its keep. Several iconic WoD quest weapons are available as WoD Timewalking transmog, preserved forever in badge form for anyone who missed them at level. Notable highlights below:

Ensembles at 4000 badges each are a significant time investment. Prioritize mounts first if that's your goal; transmog can wait for the next cycle if your badge count is limited.
The vendors also stock every heirloom upgrade token, for players who somehow still have unupgraded heirlooms or who are leveling alts aggressively. These are not exclusive to WoD Timewalking — they are available at all Timewalking vendors — but if you have badges burning a hole in your currency tab, the Eternal and Battle-Hardened casings run 1000 badges for armor and 1200 badges for weapons. Ancient tier (entry-level) is 750/900.
The Sign of Iron buff, active for the entire event week, grants a flat 50% bonus to all reputation gains for the following Draenor factions. If you are chasing WoD reputation grinding for mounts, titles, or old profession recipes, this is your window. Go do daily quests between dungeon queues like a productive person.
Each reputation also has a commendation token available for 50 badges each from the vendor. Buying and using these during the event stacks with the Sign of Iron buff, which stacks reputation gains impressively fast. Spend wisely — at 50 badges each, these are among the cheapest things on the vendor list.
Player Housing decor from Draenor comes from three sources: quests, boss drops, and vendors. The quest-sourced decor is the most systematic — completing Garrison intro quests and major Draenor storyline quests unlocks furniture for your House Chest automatically, then allows vendor copies from the relevant NPC afterward.
The Alliance-side intro chain rewards pieces like the Architect's Drafting Table (quest: My Very Own Castle), the Northshire Scribe's Desk (Bigger is Better), Rough Wooden Chair (Keeping it Together), and the Stormwind Wooden Bench (Clearing the Garden). All are subsequently purchasable from Sergeant Crowler in the Alliance Garrison. These are purely cosmetic and the quests are trivial to complete on any character.

The Horde equivalent involves the Spires of Arak chain and Arakkoa lore quests. Completing When All Is Aligned unlocks the High Arakkoan Library Shelf; The Avatar of Terokk yields the Uncorrupted Eye of Terokk; and A Gathering of Shadows unlocks Writings of Reshad the Outcast. Vendor: Ruuan the Seer in the Horde Garrison after quest completion.

Boss drops are not guaranteed. The Draenic Ottoman off Teron'gor is worth farming during Timewalking since you'll be in Auchindoun anyway. The Skyreach Circular Table requires High Sage Viryx, the final boss — given that Skyreach queues are random, just run and hope.
For players pursuing the Draenor housing decor farming path more aggressively, several vendors sell cosmetics year-round in exchange for gold or Garrison Resources. In Stormshield, Vindicator Nuurem accepts Garrison Resources for Draenethyst Lantern (250 resources, Council of Exarchs Friendly) and scales up to the Grand Draenethyst Lamp (1500, Exalted) and Shadowmoon Greenhouse (1500, Exalted). In Warspear, Ravenspeaker Skeega sells Arakkoan Alchemy Tools, High Arakkoan Alchemist's Shelf, and High Arakkoan Shelf for gold — exact prices currently listed as unknown in the database, so check vendor directly.

Roughly 60–65 runs at 75 badges each, less if you use the Shimmering Crystal turn-in every week across multiple characters.
No. They persist indefinitely in your currency tab and are spendable at any subsequent Timewalking event, regardless of expansion.
No. Assignment is random via the Dungeon Finder. You cannot target a specific dungeon, so complaining about Grimrail Depot is your only recourse.
Approximately November 2026, pending schedule shifts from Dragonflight Timewalking added in Patch 12.0.7 expanding the rotation.
Yes. Using reputation commendation tokens during the active event stacks both bonuses, making this the most efficient time to grind Draenor factions.
