The Arcane Resistance overview WoW TBC Classic Anniversary players need to absorb before Phase 2 goes live is shorter than you hope and more consequential than you have planned for. Arcane Resistance in TBC Classic Anniversary is the most narrowly targeted of the five resistance types. It applies to two bosses in Tempest Keep: The Eye. That is it. No Serpentshrine. No Black Temple. Two bosses, one of which is nicknamed "Loot Reaver" precisely because resisting his mechanics involves running sideways rather than wearing specific gear.
The resistance cap for TBC Classic Anniversary against a level 73 raid boss is 365. The Arcane Resistance unbuffed cap WoW TBC Classic Anniversary is also 365, because unlike Frost or Nature there is no universally available group buff adding meaningful baseline Arcane Resistance. Mark of the Wild grants 25 Arcane Resistance (34 with 5/5 Improved Mark of the Wild), which modestly reduces the pre-buffed target your dedicated Arcane Tanks need to hit in gear. Everything above 365 is stat budget donated to waste. WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Arcane Resistance cap optimization therefore means building to 365 in gear plus kit plus enchant, accounting for the Mark of the Wild padding, then loading the remaining slots with Stamina.
Arcane Resistance stat priority WoW TBC Classic Anniversary: For dedicated soakers (Arcane Tanks), Arcane Resistance to 365 is the first and only priority. Stamina is second. All other stats are irrelevant decoration. For the general raid, the target is approximately 150 Arcane Resistance buffed, achievable with two or three universal items without touching the class-specific crafted sets.
The Arcane Resistance raid encounters WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 2 features are confined to Tempest Keep: The Eye. Two bosses. Both require different levels of preparation and different definitions of "how many people need to suffer in a resistance set."
Tempest Keep: The Eye • Boss 2 • "Loot Reaver"
Arcane mechanics: Pounding: 18-yard AoE channel, 1,350–2,250 arcane damage per second for 3 seconds to melee; resistible. Arcane Orb: slow projectile, 4,675–6,325 arcane AoE damage plus 6-second silence on impact; binary resist (0% or 100%). The Pounding damage is partially mitigated by Arcane Resistance. The Orb is binary, meaning either you fully resist it or you take full damage: no partial mitigation. Stacking resistance for Orb avoidance is therefore statistically weak unless you are near the cap. The correct Orb mechanic is footwork. The Violet Badge provides a small binary resist chance on Orbs worth equipping if you already have the trinket, which you should because getting it costs only quest completion inside Karazhan.
WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Arcane Resistance requirements for Void Reaver: Zero hard requirement. Violet Badge on everyone who has it. Healer cooldowns cover Pounding. Legs on melee for Orbs.
Tempest Keep: The Eye • Boss 3
Mechanics requiring Arcane Resistance preparation: Arcane Missiles: 3x 3,000 arcane damage channeled to a random target; resistible. Blinding Light: 2,280–2,520 arcane AoE to the entire raid roughly every 45 seconds; applies Mark of Solarian. Mark of Solarian: reduces Arcane Resistance by 15 per stack, up to 30 stacks, lasting 2 minutes. Wrath of the Astromancer: DoT + debuff placed on a random player; 500 arcane damage every 2 seconds for 8 seconds then jumps to the nearest ally; simultaneously applies a stacking 50% arcane damage increase for 45 seconds (up to 10 stacks). Two Arcane Tanks absorb and trade this debuff between themselves to prevent the stacking damage increase from reaching the rest of the raid.
WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Arcane Resistance requirements for Solarian: Two Arcane Tanks at or near 365 Arcane Resistance before buffs. General raid at approximately 150 Arcane Resistance to keep Blinding Light and Missiles damage healable. Mark of the Wild active from a Druid reduces the unbuffed gear target by 25–34 points for soakers.

The WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Arcane Resistance boss strategy for Solarian requires pre-assigning two Arcane Tanks before the pull. Tanks are the strongest soaker candidates due to HP pools. Warlocks are the most popular alternative due to cloth armor compatibility with the cloth Arcane Resistance sets and Healthstone/Soulstone access. Healers are poor soaker candidates. Designating healers as soakers is a decision that will produce measurable corpse counts.
Equip Violet Badge in a trinket slot. Leave your resistance gear in the bank. Run away from glowing orbs. If your melee is dying to Pounding, assign a Restoration Shaman with Chain Heal or a Holy Priest with Circle of Healing to the melee group. Rogues can use Cloak of Shadows immediately before Pounding to fully avoid the damage. This is the complete Void Reaver arcane resistance strategy.
These items are accessible to every class regardless of armor type. They represent the baseline every raid member should have before any class-specific crafted set is considered. The Arcane Resistance gear priority TBC Classic Anniversary starts here.

Universal baseline for every raid member: Violet Badge (45) + Pendant of the Null Rune (30) + Ring of Arcane Shielding (30) + Cloak of Arcane Evasion + enchant (52) = 157 Arcane Resistance before any armor-type-specific pieces. This alone nearly hits the general raid target of ~150. If your raiders have all four of these, the raid-wide requirement is functionally met without a single class-specific crafted piece. You're welcome.

Cloth wearers have the deepest Arcane Resistance item pool of any armor type, which is both impressive and darkly funny given that cloth has the lowest base armor value. Blizzard balanced this by giving you options. The game did not balance it by giving you the hit points to survive wearing them. The best Arcane Resistance items WoW TBC Classic Anniversary cloth wearers can equip come from two crafted Tailoring sets that can be combined to dramatic effect.

3-piece set bonus: +16 Spell Hit Rating. Total AR from set: 110. Total secondary stats: 115 Stam, 9 MP5. No Intellect or Spirit: this is the pure survivability set. Materials are Arcane Dust and Netherweave Cloth, making it substantially cheaper than Primal-requiring alternatives.
Cloth Arcane Tank strategy: You cannot wear both sets in full. You have 5 armor slots covered by these two sets combined (Chest, Shoulders, Hands from Soulcloth; Chest, Wrist, Feet from Arcanoweave) with Chest overlapping. Maximum combined coverage is 5 unique pieces: pick Arcanoweave Robe OR Soulcloth Vest for Chest, then take the remaining 4. Optimal combination for raw AR: Arcanoweave Robe (50) + Soulcloth Gloves (35) + Soulcloth Shoulders (30) + Arcanoweave Boots (35) + Arcanoweave Bracers (25) = 175 Arcane Resistance from cloth armor alone. Add universal items and you substantially exceed the 365 cap with gem flexibility remaining.

Leather wearers get the Enchanted Clefthoof set, courtesy of Leatherworking and a Scryers reputation grind that someone in your guild is either already through or has not started for reasons they will not explain clearly. All three patterns require The Scryers faction. This means Aldor players must visit a Leatherworker friend with Scryers rep, or find the items on the Auction House at prices that will inspire genuine grief.

Total AR from set: 100. Total Stamina: 84. No secondary damage stats. Materials: Heavy Knothide Leather and Thick Clefthoof Leather (skinned from clefthooves in Nagrand). The set bonus is agility-focused, making the leggings specifically attractive for Feral Druids and Rogues who want AR without a pure-survivability itemization. Combine with universal items (Violet Badge, ring, neck, cloak) to reach general raid AR targets with ease.
Feral Druids tanking on Solarian's general raid can substitute PvP Honor gear for high Stamina totals when AR itself is not the priority. The Enchanted Clefthoof set supplements this well. Bear Form provides no AR benefit beyond gear values. Druids with Improved Mark of the Wild (5/5) provide 34 AR to the entire raid passively, which is the most impactful contribution a Druid makes to the raid's collective AR total and costs exactly zero gear slots.

Mail wearers access the Enchanted Felscale set, which is the mail-armor parallel to the Clefthoof leather set. Same Scryers reputation gates. Same Leatherworking profession. Different base armor type and material. Fel Scales replace Thick Clefthoof Leather as the key material, skinnable from basilisks and ravagers across Outland at approximately a 20% skin rate per mob. Plan your Arcane Resistance materials farming TBC Classic Anniversary accordingly, because Fel Scales have a narrow farming zone and everyone will be farming them simultaneously when Phase 2 launches.

Total AR from set: 100. Total Stamina: 84. No secondary DPS stats. Same material cost structure as Clefthoof leather, substituting Fel Scales for Thick Clefthoof Leather. Both Shamans and Hunters can equip mail armor at level 40+, making this the only mail AR set available in Phase 2 TBC content.
Hunters do not participate as Arcane Tanks on Solarian under any reasonable roster configuration. The Felscale set covers the general raid AR target when combined with universal items. Aspect of the Wild is a Nature resistance buff and provides no Arcane Resistance benefit: do not list it in your spreadsheet as an Arcane contribution, this is not the column it belongs in.
There is no Arcane Resistance Totem. There is no Arcane Resistance Aura equivalent in the Shaman toolkit. Enhancement Shamans going into the melee cluster simply need the Felscale set plus universal items for general raid coverage. Resto and Elemental Shamans standing in ranged position should stack the same. Shaman contributions to raid AR are through their healing output managing the incoming arcane damage, not through totems that do not exist.

Plate wearers access the Enchanted Adamantite Armor set through Blacksmithing and Scryers reputation. Four pieces. All require The Scryers at varying reputation levels. This is the same faction that gates the leather and mail sets, which is convenient if your entire raid has chosen Scryers and inconvenient if half of them went Aldor without asking anyone. All Enchanted Adamantite patterns are purchased from Quartermaster Enuril in Shattrath City's Scryers tier.

3-piece set bonus: +20 Parry Rating. Total AR from 4 pieces: 140. Total Stamina: 128. Ten prismatic sockets for additional customization. Materials: Hardened Adamantite Bars (2–4 per piece), Arcane Dust (8–16 per piece), Large Prismatic Shards (2 per piece). Hardened Adamantite Bars require Blacksmithing to produce from Adamantite Ore + Arcane Dust. Farm Arcane Dust aggressively before Phase 2: it drives pricing on all Scryers-gated resistance sets simultaneously.
Protection Warriors using the Enchanted Adamantite set for Solarian soaking operate at a significant Stamina advantage over cloth soakers at the cost of slightly lower total achievable AR without the cloth set combination. A Protection Warrior with all four Enchanted Adamantite pieces (140 AR), universal items (Violet Badge 45 + ring 30 + neck 30 + cloak 52 = 157 AR) reaches 297 AR before Arcane Armor Kits and Mark of the Wild. Add MoTW (34), Armor Kits (variable), and gems: cap is reachable but tighter than cloth. Warriors are strong soaker candidates specifically because their HP pool handles the escalating Wrath stacks better than anyone without Soulstone protection.
Protection Paladins are the recommended main tank for Solarian (not soakers: the main tank, handling the actual boss aggro). Paladins handle Solarium Agents in Phase 2 via Consecration AoE threat, which Warriors cannot replicate as cleanly. The Wowhead Arcane Resistance Set for Protection Paladin on Solarian is a documented gear set specifically curated for this encounter. Paladins functioning as soakers use the same Enchanted Adamantite set as Warriors. Paladins who insist on functioning as both main tank and soaker simultaneously are making an ambitious statement that their healers have not endorsed.

Every class. Every spec. Every available Arcane Resistance item. Sorted by armor type, annotated by role. This is the section you wanted. Here it is.
All specs can equip the full Enchanted Adamantite set. Protection Warriors are the strongest plate soaker candidate due to HP pool and survival cooldowns. Arms and Fury Warriors attending Solarian on general raid duty equip universal items only.

Druids are uniquely valuable in this context: Improved Mark of the Wild (5/5) provides 34 Arcane Resistance to the entire raid passively, which reduces what every soaker needs in gear by 34 points. This is the most efficient single contribution to the raid's collective AR budget available in the game. Feral tanks are decent soaker candidates. Resto and Balance Druids on general duty stack universal items plus Clefthoof pieces as needed.

Universal + full Clefthoof set total: 257 AR + MoTW passive buff to raid (34 AR). Feral Druid soakers combine PvP Honor stamina gear with these pieces where AR is secondary.
Rogues have Cloak of Shadows, which fully absorbs one Pounding hit from Void Reaver if timed correctly. On Solarian, Rogues are not soaker candidates. General raid AR coverage via universal items plus Clefthoof pieces is the standard approach. Rogues in combat on Solarian function as melee DPS and should focus on encounter DPS uptime rather than building a soaker set.

Mages are cloth wearers with full access to both Soulcloth Embrace and Arcanoweave Vestments. Gnome Mages begin with +10 Arcane Resistance from their racial trait, which provides a minor head start but does not meaningfully change the gearing path. Mages are not recommended as Arcane Tank soakers because their HP pool is genuinely dangerous at high Wrath stacks. They are however fully equipped to fill the general raid AR target with universal items plus two or three cloth pieces.

Warlocks are the optimal Arcane Tank soakers. They wear cloth, giving full access to both resistance sets. They provide their own Soulstone (self-Soulstone if needed). Healthstones extend soaker survivability. Demonology Warlocks with Fel Hunter active have additional magical defense utility. Blood Elf Warlocks begin with +10 Arcane Resistance from their racial. The item list for Warlock soakers is identical to the Mage cloth list but the role expectations are dramatically higher: your Warlock soakers are the most important people on the field for roughly 40% of this encounter's duration.

Priests access the same cloth resistance items as Mages and Warlocks. Holy and Discipline Priests should not be designated as Arcane Tank soakers: healers are too critical to the fight's throughput to risk on Wrath stacks. Shadow Priests are acceptable soaker candidates if no better options exist, but this is a roster-dependent concession rather than an optimal assignment. All Priests should equip universal items plus the Violet Badge and cover the general raid AR target without touching the cloth resistance sets unless they are specifically slotted as soakers.

Apply the cloak enchant even if you are also wearing the Cloak of Arcane Evasion. The enchant stacks with the item's base AR for a combined 52 Arcane Resistance from the back slot, which is exceptional value for one equipment slot. Armor Kits applied to bracers, head, or shoulder slots not covered by the crafted sets provide incremental resistance without replacing your primary gear. Every Arcane Resistance trackers and addons TBC Classic Anniversary players use to calculate their total should account for kit contributions separately, as they do not appear in the character sheet resistance total until actually applied.
The Arcane Resistance aura and totem stacking section of this guide is, again, brief: because there is no Arcane Resistance Aura and there is no Arcane Resistance Totem. What exists instead is the following complete list.

Practical implication: If your raid has a Druid with Improved Mark of the Wild (5/5), your Arcane Tank soakers need 331 Arcane Resistance from gear rather than 365 to reach the buffed cap. This is a meaningful reduction: the difference between needing Armor Kits to squeeze the last points or not. Confirm your Druid has the talent. This is not an assumption to make during the pull.
The Arcane Resistance crafting professions TBC Classic Anniversary players need are Tailoring (cloth), Blacksmithing (plate), Leatherworking (leather, mail, and armor kits), Jewelcrafting (neck and ring), and Enchanting (cloak enhancement). Alchemy handles the consumables. Every profession except Engineering has a seat at the table, which is appropriate because Engineering's seat is occupied by someone explaining how their Deathblow X11 Goggles justify their entire crafting budget.

Begin farming or purchasing Arcane Dust and Adamantite Ore before Phase 2 launches. The same materials drive multiple resistance sets simultaneously (Frost, Nature, and Arcane all use Arcane Dust), causing a synchronized price spike at Phase 2 opening. This is a prediction delivered without sentiment because the alternative is delivering it with sentiment and nothing changes.
