TBC Classic Anniversary Leveling Guide | 60-70 + Attunements

You want to walk through the Dark Portal and quest like it is 2007, then you also want your guild to stare at you on February 19 when you still miss keys and attunements, so yeah, that plan sounds “fun” in the same way a repair bill sounds “fun.” You have a 14-day rush from launch to raid lockouts, so grind dungeons to Honored first, then you cash quests later for Revered and gold, and you arrive ready for the raid date, So take this TBC Classic Anniversary Leveling Guide, and find really worthy method to level up, gear up, and prepare to World of Warcraft Anniversary gearing.

You probably ask these questions, right now.

  • How do you hit 70 and still keep key reputations at Honored?
  • When do you turn in dungeon quests, and when do you save them?
  • Where do you set Hearthstone so travel stays short?
  • What do you do at level 61, so your new skills help inside dungeons?
  • Why is one Underbog run locked in, even if the grind feels slow?
  • When do you do Ring of Blood, and why does it change the whole run?
  • Which runs unlock Karazhan keys, so you stop wasting days later?
  • What do you do if your group hits a wall in late 67 and early 68?

Now we move from “random leveling” into a tight route that gives XP and reputation at the same time, so your level 70 feels useful on day one.

Route summary

You follow one route from 60 to 70, and you only break it for skill training, one-time quest runs, and attunement unlocks.

  • 60–62: Hellfire Ramparts one run, then The Blood Furnace spam
  • 62–64: Hearth at Cenarion Refuge, The Slave Pens spam, The Underbog one quest run
  • 64–66: Shattrath City intro, Mana-Tombs to 65, Auchenai Crypts once, Ring of Blood at 65
  • 66–late 67: Sethekk Halls spam, then Old Hillsbrad Foothills quest run
  • 67–68: The Black Morass run when your group can finish it
  • 68–70: Shadow Labyrinth fragment, The Steamvault fragment, The Shattered Halls rep grind to Revered

Now you take the same route, step by step, with direct actions and the timing that fits the launch World of Warcraft Anniversary leveling.

Launch setup in Hellfire

Day one is lag and open-world pain, so you go inside fast and you prepare your grind tools before your first real spam.

  • Turn in your pre-quests right away, so you start with a big XP chunk
  • Get the Dark Portal intro quest, then move to Thrallmar or Honor Hold
  • Set Hearthstone, then repair, then buy water and food for long dungeon chains

When your group meets near Hellfire, you go straight into instances and you stop feeding the open world.

60–62 Hellfire dungeon chain

You start with one quick Ramparts run, then you live in Blood Furnace until level 62, and you keep dungeon quests unturned until you hit Honored.

Target

Stop point

Ramparts

One run for speed, then you leave

After the run

Blood Furnace

Spam to 61, then spam to 62

Level 62

You save them until Honored

Honored

If your gear is rough, Blood Furnace can feel like a wall, so you stay in Ramparts until 61 and you grab upgrades on the way.

Level 61 skill trip and return

At 61 you take a short break, you go train, then you return and keep the same dungeon loop going.

  • Hearth out and train new skills in Orgrimmar or Stormwind
  • Turn in the ominous letter quest for the Blood Furnace follow-up
  • Go back in and keep Blood Furnace runs until 62

This small trip pays back inside the dungeon, because level 61 skills matter in real pulls and real World of Warcraft Anniversary phase offers.

62–64 Zangarmarsh base and Cenarion rep

At 62 you move to Zangarmarsh, you set Hearthstone at Cenarion Refuge, and you turn Slave Pens into your home until 64.

  • Set Hearthstone at Cenarion Refuge
  • Spam Slave Pens until 64
  • Run Underbog one time, then finish dungeon quests during that run

Underbog mob density can feel awkward, so you take the quest XP and you go back to Slave Pens right after the run.

66–late 67 Sethekk Halls spam

From 66 you hearth back to your Terokkar base, then you spam Sethekk Halls until you sit close to 68.

  • Hearth back to your Terokkar base
  • Spam Sethekk Halls until you are deep into 67
  • Watch your level bar, and plan Caverns of Time near late 67

This is the “farm mode” part of the route, so you keep it simple and you keep the runs rolling with a steady World of Warcraft Anniversary gold.

Late 67 Caverns of Time unlocks

Deep into 67 you go to Caverns of Time, you do the intro quest outside, then you finish a full Old Hillsbrad quest run to unlock Black Morass later.

  • Travel to Caverns of Time and do the outside intro quest
  • Finish Old Hillsbrad as a full quest run
  • Plan Black Morass after that unlock, since it ties into your later attunement work

If Black Morass feels rough for your group, you delay it and you go back to Sethekk until you reach 68.

68–70 attunement sprint and key dungeons

At 68 the tutorial is over, and now you grind XP while you pick up the dungeons that unlock heroics and Karazhan progress.

  • Go to Karazhan and do the intro quests until Shadow Labs is next
  • Run Shadow Labyrinth for the key fragment, and bring a real tank plus real heals
  • Run The Steamvault for the second key fragment, and take the full quest run for rep
  • Run The Shattered Halls for the final push, and grind your faction rep toward Revered

Shattered Halls can feel brutal, so you swap into Shadow Labs or Steamvault if your group finishes those runs, and you still get rep progress inside level 70 dungeons.

After 70 quest sweep for Revered and gold

Once you hit Honored with your main factions, you go back out and you turn quests into gold and Revered progress, and that is how heroic keys stop being a problem.

  • Hit 70 first, while your dungeon reps sit at Honored
  • Do open-world quests after that, so the turn-ins give gold and reputation
  • Use Revered to pick up heroic keys, then walk into heroics with your guild

If you reverse the order, you end up back in normal dungeons later, and that time feels like a tax you did to yourself.

Conclusion

You want 70 and you want access, so we take the dungeon-first route – Hellfire into Zangarmarsh, then Terokkar and Caverns of Time, then the 68+ key sprint through Shadow Labs, Steamvault, and Shattered Halls, and then you cash quests at 70 for Revered and gold so February 19 feels like normal World of Warcraft Anniversary services.

TBC Classic Anniversary Leveling Guide | 60-70 + Attunements FAQ

How do you hit 70 and keep key reputations at Honored?

Spam the right dungeons from 60–70 to gain XP plus Honored reputation. Reach 70 first, then turn saved quests for gold and Revered progress, so heroic keys unlock fast.

When do you turn in dungeon quests, and when do you save them?

Pick dungeon quests early, then save turn-ins until main reps hit Honored. During one-time quest runs, finish the quest stack inside the dungeon, then return to the main spam route.

Where do you set Hearthstone so travel stays short?

Set Hearthstone near the next grind to cut travel time and keep resets fast. Start in Hellfire, then move to Cenarion Refuge. Later set it in Terokkar base, close to Sethekk Halls.

What do you do at level 61, so new skills help inside dungeons?

At level 61, hearth out, train new skills, then return to Blood Furnace runs. Turn in Ominous Letter follow-up so the chain stays active, and dungeon pace stays strong in real pulls.

Why is one Underbog run locked in, even if the grind feels slow?

Run Underbog once for quest XP and a rep burst, then leave after turn-ins and return to Slave Pens spam. Treat Underbog as a quest sweep, so awkward mob density stays a short problem.

When do you do Ring of Blood, and why does it change the whole run?

Do Ring of Blood at level 65 with a group, because the weapon reward lifts kill speed through late levels. Place it after Mana-Tombs, so the jump into Sethekk Halls feels smooth.

Which runs unlock Karazhan keys, so you stop wasting days later?

During 68–70, start Karazhan intro until Shadow Labyrinth becomes the next step, then run Shadow Labs for a key fragment. After that run Steamvault for the second fragment. Finish with Shattered Halls reputation grind toward Revered.

What do you do if your group hits a wall in late 67 and early 68?

If the group slows in late 67, return to Sethekk Halls for steady XP and safe pulls. Unlock Old Hillsbrad first, then plan Black Morass when roles feel ready, so the run ends clean.
