TBC Phase 2 SSC & TK Prep Guide: No More Excuses
Phase 2 is live and Druids are out here completing a 12-step odyssey across three continents just to fly slightly faster.

The TBC Classic Anniversary Druid Swift Flight Form is not a gift. It is a multi-zone errand marathon Blizzard designed to see how much you love your druid before rewarding you with the ability to fly at 280% speed without sitting on a mount. Every other class pays 5,000 gold and gets a bird. You pay 5,000 gold and spend an evening navigating three continents. Congratulations.
That said, the rewards are genuinely excellent. Beyond the form itself, completing the chain gives you the Charm of Swift Flight (a trinket that boosts your flight speed by an additional 10%), the Idol of the Raven Goddess (BiS for Feral Druids), and the Essence-Infused Moonstone: the only item in the game that lets you summon Anzu, the Raven God, inside Heroic Sethekk Halls for a chance at the legendary Reins of the Raven Lord mount. A mount that other players will pay you generously to go summon for them, every single day.
The Druid epic flight form quest chain is available in Phase 2 of TBC Classic Anniversary. If you are reading this during Phase 1, spend that time farming 5,000 gold and stocking herbs. You are not ready.
Prerequisites: The Entry Fee
Before a single NPC will acknowledge your existence in this questline, you must meet the following requirements. None of them are optional. None of them are forgiving.

Requirement |
Details |
Status |
|
Level 70 |
Maximum level. No exceptions, no workarounds. |
Required |
|
Artisan Riding (300) |
Train from Ilsa Blusterbrew (Alliance) or Olrokk (Horde) for 5,000g. Yes, that number is correct. |
Required |
|
Lower City: Honored |
Needed for the Heroic Sethekk Halls key (Auchenai Key). Farm Sethekk Halls and Shadow Labyrinth on Normal to reach Honored efficiently. |
Required |
|
5-man group for Sethekk Heroic |
The final boss, Anzu, is summoned in Heroic difficulty. You cannot do this alone. Form a group. |
Required |
|
Hearthstone bound in Zangarmarsh |
You will return to the Moonwell at Cenarion Refuge so many times you will start seeing it in your dreams. |
Recommended |
|
Herbs pre-farmed or bought |
10x Bogblossom, 10x Ancient Lichen, 10x Dreaming Glory. Roughly 300g on the AH and worth every copper. |

The chain is faction-neutral: Horde and Alliance complete the exact same quests in the exact same order. Think of it as Blizzard's way of reminding you that your faction pride means nothing to a druid class questline. Below is every step, with what to expect and what will go wrong.
This section involves three mini-boss encounters across Terokkar Forest. Each tests a different aspect of druid gameplay. Each will humble you in a different way.
Read each encounter before engaging. The Guardian of the Falcon stacks an uncapped Corrupted Agility debuff. Bring a friend or a pre-HoT rotation. The Guardian of the Hawk requires Abolish Poison and Remove Curse: have both on your bars or accept defeat cheerfully.
This is easily the most chaotic quest in the chain. You are a druid chasing a goblin through an underwater bomb field in a Classic zone. Prepare accordingly. Have Dash off cooldown.

Reins of the Raven Lord |

The Essence-Infused Moonstone deserves special mention. Because only Druids who completed this chain can summon Anzu, and because the Raven Lord mount drives people to genuinely irrational behavior, you can charge other players 500–1,000 gold per run to bring them into Heroic Sethekk Halls as your Anzu summoner. Every day. The 5,000 gold investment has a business case.
The final encounter in Heroic Sethekk Halls is not a gear check. It is an attention check. Anzu applies three abilities that your group must handle actively, plus a Banish mechanic that requires the druid questor to intervene with the Moonstone.
|
Ability |
Effect |
Response |
|
Spell Bomb |
8-second Curse, 1,000 damage per cast on afflicted player |
Remove Curse immediately. Every second counts. |
|
Cyclone of Feathers |
6-second cyclone AoE |
Spread out before it fires. Pre-position. |
|
Paralyzing Screech |
5-second cast into 6-second AoE stun |
Pre-HoT the tank before the cast completes. |
|
Banish Phase (66% / 33%) |
Anzu becomes immune. Adds spawn. |
Clear adds, then activate spirit statues with Essence-Infused Moonstone to end the phase. |

Yes. The chain is completely identical for both factions, start to finish, without exception.
Bogblossom requires no profession. Ancient Lichen and Dreaming Glory need Herbalism or can simply be bought on the Auction House.
Yes, though the Falcon guardian is tight. Pre-HoT yourself, use Bash to interrupt, and bring consumables for safety.
Once per day per Heroic lockout. The dungeon resets every 24 hours, giving you one daily Raven Lord attempt.
Same speed as a standard epic flying mount, but instant cast, no dismounting on landing, and far more convenient for gathering professions.
