Today, we are going to look at how to safely and efficiently harvest Plague Wood (infected wood) so you can craft some fantastic high-tier gear.

The swamp can be a bit challenging, but with the right preparation, you'll do great!

Step 1: Head to the Cursed Swamps

To find this unique timber, you will want to journey into the infected areas of the Swamp Biome. Keep your eyes peeled for trees that have a distinct, weathered, and rotten appearance—those are the ones filled with the precious resources you need!

Step 2: Gear Up with the Right Tools

Before you head out, make sure your inventory is ready for the task:

• Bring an Iron Axe: While a copper axe is great for the early game, you will definitely want to upgrade to an Iron Axe to harvest Plague Wood.
• Watch the Infection Bar: When you are gathering in these areas, you will notice a small infection bar filling up on your screen. Don't worry! Just keep an eye on it, gather your wood efficiently, and take a quick break in a safer zone when it starts getting high.
• Stay Aware: Swamp creatures love to hang out near these trees, so keeping a weapon handy to defend yourself while logging is always a smart idea.

Tip: If you prefer hunting over logging, you can actually get this wood from Plague Crocodiles too! However, harvesting the trees directly is usually a much quicker and safer way to stock up.

Step 3: Crafting Your Essence and Ingots

Once you have safely gathered your wood, it's time for the fun part—crafting your new rewards!

1. Smelt into Essence Arborum: Take your Plague Wood back to your base and place it into the Smelting Furnace. It takes about 20 seconds per piece to transform it into magical Essence Arborum.
2. Visit the Enchanting Table: Bring your freshly crafted essence over to your Enchanting Table.
3. Craft the Ingot Arborum: Combine the essence with a Mire Metal Ingot and some Tainted Bile to create your brand-new Ingot Arborum!
