SWTOR Alliance System Guide: Build Your Base Fast
Each summer SWTOR opens its casino doors on Nar Shaddaa. This guide covers every slot machine, reward, daily quest, and secret achievement so you...

Every summer, BioWare unlocks the casino doors on Nar Shaddaa and lets the galaxy's finest heroes blow their credit reserves on slot machines. The event is locally known as Soovada: a Huttese term that roughly translates to "the season of giving your credits to Hutts." Accurate.
The SWTOR Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event is a non-combat, click-heavy seasonal event with no real stakes other than cosmetic rewards you absolutely do not need but will grind three weeks for anyway. Both factions get separate casino locations: Republic players haunt Club Vertica, Imperials rot inside the Star Cluster Casino. They are aesthetically different and functionally identical.
Additional slot machines exist at the Pleasure Skiffs on the Lower Promenade, at The Bazaar on Mek-Sha, and in the VIP Lounge on the Fleet. The Mek-Sha and Promenade locations lack Emperor's Grace machines, because Hutts have standards about which tier of desperation they service.
How to start: Click the News Terminal on Fleet to grab the "Nar Shaddaa Nightlife" mission. It hands you 5 free Smuggler's Chips. Complete it by walking to the event vendors: they auto-complete the quest just by proximity. Or skip all of that and go directly to Nar Shaddaa with credits in hand.
There are three tiers of slot machines in the SWTOR Nightlife event, each requiring their own chip type. The progression goes: Smuggler's Luck feeds Kingpin's Bounty feeds Emperor's Grace. The machines get more expensive, the odds tighten slightly, and the rewards get more worth having. Classic Hutt economy.
The entry-level grief machine. Chips are cheap, rewards are mediocre, and the Feeling Lucky buff it occasionally grants is the only reason to sit here longer than five minutes. That buff boosts your odds on the Kingpin machine, so this is effectively a warm-up act for the real waste of time ahead. The Nar Shaddaa Nightlife slot machine progression starts here.

The mid-tier machine and where most players camp. Chips cost more, the loss rate is higher, but jackpots here actually drop things worth having: including the Kingpin's Rancor mount, Vectron BWL Wraith, and the Phrojo Nuray companion contract. The Good Karma buff: only useful when paired with Feeling Lucky: meaningfully improves your jackpot odds. Stack both buffs before spinning for maximum mathematical delusion.

The endgame machine. Exclusively drops the Iridescent Varatyl Mount, the Emperor's Pritarr Cub pet, and the Supernova Helmet: a bind-to-legacy moddable piece added in 2026. No Emperor's Grace machines exist on Mek-Sha or the Promenade. If you want the good stuff, you go to the casino proper and you sit there like an adult making poor decisions.

Buff synergy: Feeling Lucky alone does nothing for Emperor's Grace. Only Feeling Lucky + Good Karma together change the odds: jackpot rises to 50%, super jackpot to 25%. Get both or don't bother.
Max Bet versions of all three machine types live exclusively in the VIP Lounge on Fleet. You need a VIP Wristband to access them. The floor is less crowded than the Nar Shaddaa casino, which is either a perk or a warning sign depending on your relationship with decision-making.
A large part of the reward pool requires Golden Certificates: the event's main currency, earned from slot machines. Three vendors at the back of the Nar Shaddaa casino sell most purchasable items. Vendors persist after the event ends, so you can hoard certificates and spend them whenever you surface from your dissociative gambling spiral.

None of the jackpot mounts can be purchased or traded. You earn them through pure chance or you do not have them. This is the Hutt way.
The Nightlife event offers daily missions picked up from Advertisement Terminals scattered around the casino or from NPC Yar Pangu near the event vendors. More quests unlock as you complete existing ones, which is the game's polite way of making you come back daily. Completing all of them once unlocks Dubious Odds: a mission that only appears after you've suffered through everything else first.
Completing the full daily questline on both a Republic and an Imperial character earns the Night Owl achievement for each faction. Most quests are safe-zone click jobs. The Mek-Sha one involves hostile enemies: a subscription is required, which BioWare will remind you of exactly once and then leave you to figure out the hard way.
Event achievements live in your Legacy Window under General > Events. Most are straightforward spin counts. The noteworthy ones are secret achievements that require deliberately destroying equipment.
There is a less than 0.02% chance per spin that a machine explodes. This is apparently a feature. Three secret achievements exist around this mechanic, each rewarding a progressively self-aware Legacy Title.

Strategy: Farm or buy thousands of Smuggler's Casino Chips: cheapest available. Run two machines simultaneously. It could take hours per day across multiple sessions. The titles are legacy-wide. Decide accordingly.
A new 2026 achievement requires spinning the Emperor's Grace machine 1,000 times. There is no trick. It is 1,000 spins. Start now.
Complete the full set of Nightlife daily quests on each faction. Both achievements count separately. One character per faction, all quests completed at least once.
There is no strategy that beats the house in a game where the house is Jabba the Hutt. What exists is less bad sequencing. The Feeling Lucky + Good Karma double buff is the single most impactful thing you can do: it doubles your Emperor's Grace jackpot rate and massively improves your Super Jackpot odds. Do not spin Emperor's Grace without both buffs active. That is the entire meta.
For Golden Certificate farming, the Max Bet machines return certificates more reliably: particularly Max Bet Smuggler's Luck, which lists certificates as a common drop. If vendor rewards are your target, Max Bet is faster. If you need a VIP Wristband first, check the GTN. They exist.
Travel tip: use your Nar Shaddaa Stronghold exit to land directly on The Promenade instead of walking through Mezenti Spaceport. Alternatively, grab the Weekly Heroic Missions: Nar Shaddaa from the Activities window for a fast travel skip. Ten seconds saved per session adds up across six weeks of this.
