SWTOR Alliance System Guide: Build Your Base Fast
SWTOR dropped a ship on Dantooine and made it content. Our guide covers every biome, the Orbital Core boss, GSI reputation track, and all rewards...

The Wreckage on Dantooine quest is the intro mission for the Dantooine Crash Site, added in SWTOR Update 7.8 "Pursuit of Ruin" (December 9, 2025). It has no story connection to anything you have done before. The game dropped a starship on a planet, called it content, and here you are.
The map is divided into three biomes: Glacial (south-west), Geothermal (south-east), and Sporefall (north-west). Each has its own hazard that will quietly murder you if you stop paying attention. The entire area functions as a shared, server-wide progress system — every player doing encounters contributes to biome level-up.
Open the Galaxy Map, select Dantooine, and land at "Crash Site Outpost". Do not land at the standard Dantooine zone. There is no shuttle between them. You will auto-receive the quest upon walking into the Research Camp.
Each biome levels up from 1 to 3 as players complete dynamic encounters Dantooine. At level 3 across all three biomes, the Orbital Core unlocks — the final group boss. Every biome cycle resets when complete. You can arrive mid-cycle. That is fine. Keep going.

When a biome hits 100%, a Transition Encounter appears — time-limited to 30 minutes, difficult solo, designed for groups. You are not required to complete it to finish the main quest chain. You can ignore it entirely and continue farming regular encounters. The game will let you.
Low-level characters can technically enter and pick up quests. The enemies are Level 80. This ends predictably. Bring a Level 80 character or do not bother.
The Orbital Core is a Master Mode 4-player group encounter. It becomes available when all three biomes simultaneously reach Level 3 at 100%. The window is 2 hours. If your group fails to form in time, the cycle resets and you get to wait again.
The Orbital Core was separated from the main Wreckage on Dantooine mission. You no longer need to kill it to complete the quest. The quest can also now be abandoned. Progress.
The GSI reputation SWTOR track (Galactic Sustainability Institute) is shared across your entire Legacy and both factions. You earn it by completing the main quest and running dynamic encounters. The weekly cap is 3,500 reputation. Full completion takes roughly 20 weeks. Plan accordingly, or don't, and just enjoy the rides and titles along the way.

Environmental damage will drain you faster than the combat in the lower biome areas. Dantooine biome hazard mitigation buffs are your priority. They stack, last 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on source, and every single one of them is useful for the Orbital Core fight.
Cosmetic drops are not sold at the reputation vendor — they drop from enemies and secret achievements. The vendor handles stronghold keys and functional items. If you are here purely for the Dantooine Stronghold SWTOR, hit Newcomer rank, pick up the base unlock from the terminal behind the GSI vendor, then grind the keys per room from there.
The Dantooine Crash Site map is large and unforgiving on foot. At Champion rank you can purchase Maintenance Access Codes — single-use fast travel to all tunnel nodes across the site. They stack up to 5. Using them has a sub-1% chance to trigger the secret achievement "Major Malfunction." The game rewards incompetence occasionally.
There are over 100 achievements tied to this area. Most are self-explanatory (complete X encounters Y times). The ones worth noting:
