PoE2 Archaic Runes, Fluxes & Liquid Emotions Guide | POE2DB Based
All 21 Lineage Support gems decoded. Breach, Expedition, Delirium factions: exclusive Poe2DB data, confirmed effects, and who to socket them into.

Lineage Support gems are a new category of support stone introduced in Patch 0.5.0. Their function is deceptively simple: they let you staple the combat behavior of a legendary endgame boss directly onto your own skills. Killed Tul and survived his freezing projectile wall? Cool: now your projectiles do that.
The database contains 21 confirmed variants, distributed across four faction groups. Linguistic and lore analysis of their names makes the design intent clear: each gem is named after a specific boss, deity, or entity of Wraeclast, and its effect mirrors that entity's signature attack pattern or elemental behavior.
These aren't just flavor names. GGG actually mapped boss mechanics to support behavior. Tul's Avalanche on a projectile skill behaves like Tul's arena attack. This is either the coolest design decision in PoE2 or a war crime against balance: probably both.
The broader design thesis: endgame content should change your character permanently. Defeating a faction boss no longer just drops loot: it drops the ability to assimilate their combat mechanics. The Ocean Exploration mechanic (where you fight Uhtred, Vorana, and equivalents) is the primary delivery system for these PoE 2 leveling boost pieces.
Here's every confirmed Lineage Support from the Poe2DB crawl, grouped by the faction they belong to. Count them. Yes, there are really 21. No, we don't know what half of them do yet. Welcome to pre-release data mining.

Of the 21 gems, the Poe2DB data gives us confirmed behavioral intel on one, and strong lore-inference on several others. Here's the honest breakdown instead of PoE 2 build boost:
|
Gem |
Faction |
Known / Inferred Effect |
Confidence |
|
Tul's Avalanche |
Breach |
Adds gradual freezing field effect to projectiles: mirrors Tul's boss arena attack |
✓ Confirmed (Poe2DB) |
|
Uhtred's Constellation |
Breach |
Inferred: star-pattern / multi-projectile spread based on Uhtred's mechanic in Ocean Exploration |
Lore inference |
|
Uhtred's Rite |
Breach |
Second Uhtred gem: likely a secondary trigger or ritual-style delayed effect |
Lore inference |
|
Vorana's Siege |
Breach |
Inferred: AoE ground-control or barrage behavior from Vorana's Ocean Exploration fight |
Lore inference |
|
Breachlord's Amalgam |
Breach |
Likely combines multiple Breach elemental properties into one: "amalgam" literally means a blend |
Name inference |
|
Esh's Prowess |
Breach |
Esh is the lightning Breachlord: expected to add lightning behavior, possibly chaining |
Lore inference |
|
Medved's Felling |
Expedition |
Medved = "bear" in Slavic. Physical impact / knockdown behavior strongly implied |
Name inference |
|
Morrigan's Insight |
Wildwood |
Morrigan is tied to fate and ravens: debuff, vision-type, or curse-adjacent mechanic likely |
Lore inference |
|
Styrn's Ferocity / Mountain |
Unknown |
Two gems from same entity: Ferocity likely offensive, Mountain likely defensive or bulk-based |
Name inference |
|
Vruun's Inevitability / Aftermath |
Unknown |
Two-phase naming (before/after) suggests a combo mechanic or on-kill trigger |
Name inference |
|
Prototype Seventeen |
Unknown |
No data. No faction. No lore anchor. Pure mystery. |

The naming logic is consistent across all gems: possessive name + a behavior noun. "Tul's Avalanche" = Tul + avalanche behavior. "Medved's Felling" = Medved + felling (to knock down). Once you internalize that pattern, you can make reasonable predictions for the gems with no data yet: which is all the Poe2DB analysis can honestly offer right now.
The acquisition loop is directly tied to the content they reference. Defeating the faction boss associated with a gem is the primary drop source. This is intentional: you absorb the power of what you kill. Very PoE.
Set up the new Fragment Stash Tab (also added in 0.5.0) before farming. It stores Simulacrum and Rift Fragments: the same content that drops Delirium-category Lineage Supports. Don't skip this QoL step or you will suffer.
All 21 gems are tradeable. If you're not farming the relevant content, the trade market will have them: at a price that will make you briefly consider farming the content after PoE 2 bundle boost.
Lineage Supports are support gems: they need a skill to plug into. Patch 0.5.0 shipped 21 new active skills and 20+ new support gems alongside them, several of which are obvious pairing targets.

Active Skill |
Why It Matters |
Suggested Lineage Support |
|
Frostflame Nova |
Circle spell merging cold + fire: dual-element foundation |
Tul's Avalanche (adds cold field to existing cold component) |
|
Hollow Shell |
Volumetric protective barrier |
Helbrym's Hide or Styrn's Mountain (defensive-named gems) |
|
Triskelion Cascade |
Triple-trigger sequential skill |
Vruun's Aftermath (on-kill trigger logic fits cascade chain) |
|
Mark of Repulsion |
Debuff detonation on curse expiry |
Morrigan's Insight (curse/debuff lore match) |
|
Minion Strike skills |
Now have AoE Melee Splash (Minion Splash I & II) |
Breachlord's Amalgam (multi-property for minion diversity) |
Both new Ascendancies introduced in 0.5.0 have direct synergy hooks with PoE 2 boss boost:

All 21 exist in the Poe2DB data. Prototype Seventeen and uncategorized gems may be locked behind unannounced content.
No confirmed multi-socket restriction yet, but socket limits on skills naturally cap how many supports fit simultaneously.
They function as standard support gems: any skill that accepts supports can take a Lineage gem, including minion skills.
Uhtred has a multi-phase fight in Ocean Exploration: each gem likely maps to a distinct phase mechanic.
No faction tag in the database. Naming convention suggests lab or construct origin: probably a future content teaser.
