LoL Arena Patch 26.13 Guide: Augments, Buffs & Nerfs
Division 2 Y8S2 Into the Dark is live. Three Dark Zone modes, a full PvP talent overhaul, the Caduceus AR, Underboss SMG, and Escalation fixes that...

Six years of the same Dark Zone formula. Three maps, one Occupied, rotate daily, some idiot ruins your extraction. Division 2 Y8S2 dismantles that entirely. The season is called Into the Dark and it means exactly what it says.
Three major pillars: a full Dark Zone structural overhaul with weekly rotation between three distinct rulesets, a Phase One PvP talent pass touching 300+ abilities, and new gear built around crits and toxicity survival. Secondary: Escalation reward fixes that were overdue by a year.
Bottom line: If you avoided the Dark Zone because of griefing, there is now a mode for you. If you were good at PvP because of inflated SHD numbers, find out now if you actually are.
All three maps rotate weekly between three rulesets. You no longer choose a map. You choose a mode of suffering.

Toxicity + Season |
Up to 12 agents share the map. Player damage is off. Rogue Protocol does not exist here. The Hyenas have poisoned the zone with compounds from their Potent Spice operation and you are here to steal their samples. This is the first fully cooperative Dark Zone space in the game's history.
Three Hostile Modifiers add pressure: Folie à Deux escalates enemy damage over time and raises your Toxicity meter on death if you do not kill it fast enough; Plague Doctor heals nearby enemies from the same faction and pumps Toxicity into anyone standing near it; Soporific applies Lethargy on hit and spikes your Toxicity every time Disorient triggers. Do not stand in place.
Builds in the Toxic DZ follow PvP rules. Your DPS Striker setup will struggle to dent mobs. This is intentional and will not be patched. Adjust.
Invulnerability window: You now get a brief immunity on entering any Dark Zone variant. It ends the moment you move or fire. Use it to assess, not to nap.
SHD Watch and Expertise bonuses are completely disabled. Five thousand hours of progression means nothing here. Deconstructing contaminated items gives double DZ Currency to compensate for the normalized risk. In practice this is the best Division 2 Dark Zone farming economy the game has ever offered for Exotic Components.
Unchanged from what you know. Rogue Protocol active. Invasions active. SHD Watch and Expertise count. The middle ground between the other two.
Entrance turrets now deal direct Health damage to hostile agents in range. This should have been in the game in 2019. It is here now.
The defining mechanic of the PvE variant. It builds from the moment you enter. The longer you stay, the worse the debuffs stack. Three ways to manage it:
Toxicity does not persist between sessions. Log out and log back in, it is gone. This is worth knowing before you do something dramatic.
The season's resource is called a Sample Cannister. The Hyenas are using the Toxic DZ to store chemical compounds for Potent Spice production. You take those compounds. This feeds the seasonal loop.
Cannisters go directly into your inventory. No extraction needed. Carry limit is 90 by default, expandable via modifiers. Do not forget to dump them at the terminal in the Base of Operations or you will hit the cap and leave resources on the floor.
Sample Containers with specimens are different. Those are contaminated items and must be extracted before they count. They drop from Landmark crates.

High Quality Munitions buff (Reload = one HQM spent) |
High Quality Munitions consume one round per magazine reload, regardless of mag size. 200-round LMG or 30-round rifle: same cost per reload. Playing Gunner with no reload? You spend almost nothing. Division 2 High Quality Munitions farm well enough that hoarding makes little sense, but do not let the cannister buffer overflow.
Three hundred weapon and gear talent adjustments. After years of cosmetic patches that changed nothing, Division 2 PvP balance update Phase One arrived with Y8S2. Changes apply across Conflict and all Dark Zone variants. PvE is untouched.

Change |
Detail |
|
Overwatch / Speed talents |
Movement speed bonus reduced to 6%. No more cross-map chasing. |
|
Umbra Initiative set |
Fire rate and crit damage bonuses reduced. No longer dominates every Conflict lobby. |
|
Plague debuff |
Less damage, slower spread. One debuff cannot wipe a full-armor squad. |
|
Tinkerer Exotic Mask |
Disabled entirely in PvP. Correct decision. |
|
Determined talent |
Now matches Perfect variant behavior. Infinite chaining is gone. |
|
Heartbreaker |
Damage output and bonus armor gain reduced by 0.1% to align with global PvP balance. |
|
Core Strength |
5% overall talent buff. Skill Efficiency stays at 10%. |
Skills, Attributes, and Status Effects are explicitly confirmed for Phase Two later in the season. This is not the complete fix. It is the first one that actually moved numbers.
The Caduceus exotic AR Division 2 heals you and your allies for 3% of every critical hit's dealt damage. During PTS the value was 2%; community feedback showed the higher figure was balanced, so 3% shipped. Fixed mods: 10% Crit Chance optic, 40-round magazine, 5% Crit Chance underbarrel, 5% Crit Damage muzzle. Slot it into a crit build. It underperforms in the Toxic DZ where PvP rules apply to PvE mobs. Works better in standard PvE.
Gangland Hit talent: shooting an enemy applies one mark. You can hold only one mark at a time. Shoot a different enemy, the mark transfers. Multiple agents using Underboss can stack up to four marks on the same target. Each mark beyond your own adds 5% amplified damage on top of the base 20%. Available roughly two months into the season by completing the Climax mission on Master difficulty. That is the guaranteed drop. Lower difficulties give a reduced chance.
You and allies within 10 meters gain 40% Hazard Protection. Relevant in the Toxic DZ. Self-explanatory. Pair with Ortiz: Reficere for a dedicated support kit.
Four-piece bonus: healing skill duration and range reduced 30%, potency up 10%, healing an ally grants 10% Hazard Protection for 10 seconds. Niche. Optimal for group support in contaminated zones.
Named gear of note: Emperor's Guard kneepads (1% armor regen, 1.5% as prototype, crit damage third stat). Drop from DZ West vendor for DZ currency. Momma Badger backpack and Benefactor chest from the Edelweiss GPz brand set support healing-focused builds with +18% Repair Skills and +20% Skill Haste.
Escalation finally rewards you for finishing it. The Division 2 Escalation changes Y8S2 address the most common complaints without fixing everything.

Vendor inventories were reworked. Prices remain steep. The Dark Zone vendor Division 2 loop is now at least viable rather than an afterthought.

Balanced DZ gives 200% currency on contaminating deconstructs. At that rate the Exotic Component Cache at DZ West effectively costs 60 DZC per purchase. This is the best exotic component farming Division 2 setup the game has offered. Use it before the season ends.
Two classified assignments this season. First: Conspiracy Zone Refuge, available from June 16. Investigation of unknown SHD technology broadcasting signals from the Conspiracy Zone entertainment complex. Second: McMillan Reservoir Attack, July 21. A SHD agent takes a hit and gets pinned during a network anomaly investigation at the reservoir. The semi-open location looks more interesting than the first.
Both require the premium battle pass or separate purchase. Access unlocks at Season Track level 40.
A new Incursion was teased. The Division 2 new Incursion 2026 puts you against Rikers who have seized control of the Steel Creek Dam hydroelectric facility. Breach their defenses, eliminate faction leadership inside the complex, restore the dam. Details arrive later in the season.
Underboss availability: The exotic SMG drops from the Climax mission. Climax is at the end of this season. Plan accordingly.
Twitch Drops ran June 16–23 for the Division 2 season pass Into the Dark: 30 min for a patch, 1 hour for a Named Item container, 2 hours for a second patch, 3 hours for an Exotic container, 4 hours for a weapon skin. Drops are active on partnered international streams if yours did not participate.
Expert Rush event starts June 23: double expertise materials from all sources. If exotic caches double their component output during this window, stockpile them now. If they do not, you lose nothing by waiting.
Upcoming events in rotation: Mastery XP week (faster weapon mastery), Expert Rush (June 23, double expertise materials).
The Division 2 anti-cheat update was promised for early 2026, slipped from April, and is now confirmed for Y8S2. Expanded manual banning resources, new lag-detection tooling, more granular in-game reporting options. The developers acknowledge this remains a manual-heavy process. The Dark Zone concentrates cheaters by design: risk-reward loops attract people motivated to win at any cost. Skepticism is warranted. Use the new reporting options. See if the numbers improve by mid-season.

No. Log out and back in, it clears completely. Leave the zone for the same result.
No. All Phase One talent changes apply exclusively to Conflict and Dark Zone variants. PvE is untouched.
Complete the Climax mission on Master difficulty. First clear guarantees the drop. Lower difficulties give a reduced chance.
No. It is a Y8S2-specific feature. If it returns, seasonal mechanics will be stripped out first, per developer statements.
