Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Tier List | Vanguards | Dueslists | Strategists | Team-ups

Season 7.5 dropped on April 17, 2026, and with it came the usual assortment of nerfs nobody asked for, buffs nobody expected, and a new hero that half the playerbase will instalock before reading a single word about her kit. The Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 tier list you are about to read covers every role: Duelists, Vanguards, and Strategists: ranked not for the Diamond-ranked gods who spend nine hours a day optimizing combos, but for the rest of humanity: the casual Bronze-to-Platinum bracket, where positioning is a rumor and team communication is a myth.

The biggest systemic change this patch is Chain-CC Protection. If a hero receives 5.5 seconds of crowd control, or gets hit by six separate CC effects within a seven-second window, the system kicks in, cleanses the effects, and grants a Tenacity buff that reduces further CC impact. In plain terms: the era of being stunlocked into oblivion by a coordinated triple-CC comp is over. Rejoice, or don't: because plenty of you were the ones running those comps.

Important: Low tier does not mean unplayable. It means you will suffer more than necessary when better options exist and you are not reading this ironically.

Alongside the mechanical overhaul, Black Cat (hero number 49) joins the roster as a high-mobility Duelist built around her Fortune resource system and a grappling hook that literally steals resources from enemies mid-fight. She is the second hero added this season, following White Fox in Season 7.0. The Black Cat Marvel Rivals abilities are genuinely complex: probably the most mechanically involved kit since Spider-Man: and the meta needs time to figure out where she actually lands. She is not being formally tiered this patch. She will earn her placement when the community stops trying to use her as a flanker in an open-field comp and failing spectacularly.

  • All tier ratings target casual ranked play: Bronze through Platinum
  • Competitive meta rankings differ significantly and are not the focus here
  • Team-Up synergies are factored into individual hero ratings where relevant
  • Balance adjustments from the Season 7.5 patch are fully incorporated
  • Existing Season 7 Battle Pass progress and ranked progress are not reset this update

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Best Duelists (DPS)

The Duelist class is where egos go to either flourish or die. The casual ranked experience with DPS heroes is essentially a story in two acts: heroes who require no thought and deliver embarrassing value, and heroes who require six weeks of training to accomplish what a simpler pick does in forty seconds. The best Marvel Rivals Duelists Season 7.5 rankings below reflect that ugly truth.

Tier

Hero

Why You Should Care

S

Hela, Scarlet Witch, Squirrel Girl, Moon Knight, Mister Fantastic, The Punisher

Dominant, low-excuse, high-output picks. If you lose with these, that is personal information.

A

Iron Man, Storm, Namor, Hawkeye, Iron Fist, Star-Lord

Solid, reliable, occasionally frustrating to play against. Competent picks with upside.

B

Human Torch, Magik, Wolverine, Black Panther, Daredevil

Functional with effort. Reward the patient, punish the impatient.

C

Phoenix, Blade, Black Widow, Psylocke, Spider-Man

Either skill-checked into uselessness or simply outclassed. Pick them if you enjoy pain.

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Best Vanguards (Tanks)

Playing tank in casual ranked is a spiritual test. Your team will ignore your positioning, walk past your shield, and then blame you when they die. The Marvel Rivals Vanguard tier list below is built on the assumption that your team is approximately as reliable as a wet piece of paper: because that is the honest baseline for this bracket.

Hero

Tier

Summary

Doctor Strange

S Tier: Casual

Accessible and impactful; carries uncoordinated teams with portals. High skill ceiling but a very useful floor.

The Thing

S Tier: Casual

Competitive bottom tier but a casual menace. Extremely hard to kill and efficiently hunts healers following Season 5.0 buffs.

Peni Parker

S Tier: Casual

Oppressive minefields and powerful synergy with Rocket Raccoon, granting a second Spider-Nest via team-up.

Hulk

A Tier

Self-sufficient brawler with no reload or team-up requirements. Consistent results for players avoiding complex patch notes.

Angela

A Tier

Exploits the inability of lower-rank players to manage aerial threats. Highly effective in Bronze through Platinum brackets.

Magneto

B Tier

Requires higher mechanical awareness and shielding timing than most casual players possess. Currently outclassed by Doctor Strange.

Thor

B Tier

Improved but entirely reliant on consistent healing, which is often a "promise rather than a guarantee" in casual play.

Venom

B Tier

Often charges enemy ultimates without proper support. Ceiling is limited to causing minor chaos in disorganized teams.

Groot

B Tier

Placement is risky; walls often obstruct teammates. Slightly better than C-Tier if barriers are placed with intent.

Emma Frost

C Tier: Casual

High-skill floor and counter-intuitive mechanics. Repeatedly nerfed due to pro-level dominance, making her difficult for casuals.

Captain America

C Tier

Heavily team-dependent. Primarily stalls objectives that solo queue teammates rarely capitalize on. Impacted by Season 7.5 nerfs.

Rogue

C Tier

Requires a specific aggressive playstyle and backline support that rarely aligns in casual ranked environments.

The tank role in casual ranked is uniquely punishing because your effectiveness is directly tied to your team's behavior, and your team's behavior is completely outside your control. The best Vanguard heroes Marvel Rivals at this level are the ones who operate semi-independently: Doctor Strange's portal, Thing's brute survivability, Peni's mine field. Notice the pattern: all three do their job whether or not the five players behind them are paying attention.

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Best Strategists (Support)

Support players are the only people in casual ranked who consistently blame themselves when things go wrong. That character flaw is also why they are the backbone of the game. The Marvel Rivals Strategist tier list Season 7.5 reflects which healers allow you to carry broken teams and which ones require broken teams to carry them.

Tier

Hero

Verdict

S

GambitRocket RaccoonCloak & Dagger

Consistent, forgiving, and effective regardless of what disaster your teammates are orchestrating thirty meters away.

A

Adam WarlockUltronJeff the Land Shark

Strong picks with clear roles. Jeff is the definitive beginner healer. Ultron rewards passive play. Adam rewards hybrid aggression.

B

Luna SnowMantis

Power-crept down from their former glory. Still functional. Just no longer the no-brainer picks they once were.

C

Loki

Masterful healer. Requires mastery to heal. These two facts are in direct conflict with casual play. Skip unless you have put the hours in.

Gambit is the unanimous S-Tier Strategist this season: a near-perfect kit with a devastating ultimate, the ability to pivot to a threatening DPS when pressured, and no significant weaknesses worth addressing in a casual context. If you want a single healer recommendation for this patch, this is it. Rocket Raccoon has been elevated to S-Tier as well, offering reliable healing output, zero practice requirement, a team revive station, and the Peni Parker team-up that functions as a second passive buff. Between these two, a casual support player is well-equipped to hold up the weakest of backlines.

Cloak & Dagger continues to dominate across all ranks because auto-aim is the great equalizer. You do not need precision. You do not need game sense. You sit back, press buttons, remain effective, and use your ultimate to create a healing corridor that forces objective play. The top support heroes Marvel Rivals casual list essentially begins and ends with these three picks for most games.

Jeff the Land Shark is the single best starting point for players new to the Strategist role. He is a pure heal bot: constant output, no damage-healing pivot required, no complex mechanics. If you are new to support and anxious about it, start with Jeff and develop your game sense before worrying about Gambit's offensive rotation.

Luna Snow's B-Tier placement will offend veterans, but the numbers do not lie. She has been steadily power-crept by stronger, easier options over recent seasons. She is not bad. She is just no longer the best version of herself relative to the roster. Mantis occupies the same unlucky position: a legitimately skilled competitive pick that demands map knowledge and critical hit consistency to make work in a bracket where consistency is the first casualty.

Season 7.5 Patch Notes Summary

The headline change is Chain-CC Protection, a system-wide mechanic that prevents stun-lock compositions from ending lives without counterplay. This is one of the most significant structural changes the game has seen, and it directly targets the CC-stack comps that have made high-level play progressively less enjoyable to experience on the receiving end.

The Marvel Rivals patch notes Season 7.5 also include meaningful hero-specific adjustments. The balance post made clear that Winter Soldier had too much CC in his kit: he felt more like a bodyguard than a combatant: so his crowd control capabilities were reduced while his frontal damage was slightly buffed. Elsa Bloodstone received damage reductions and increased cooldowns after being dominant in the competitive space. Human Torch got mobility adjustments designed to make his burst repositioning more decisive while giving opponents a slightly more predictable window to respond.

Hero

Change Type

Summary

Emma Frost

BUFF

Psionic Seduction ultimate cost reduced from 3400 to 3100.

Winter Soldier (Bucky)

NERF

Helix Advance cooldown increased; CC capabilities reduced; frontal damage slightly up.

Elsa Bloodstone

NERF

Monster-Piercer damage per pellet reduced from 1.2% to 0.8%. Cooldowns increased.

Human Torch

REWORK

Plasma Body now dashes 10m on cast, has 2 charges with 10s recharge. More burst mobility, more readable for opponents.

Ultron

BUFF

Buffed passive damage impact; passive healing synergy improved.

Deadpool / Vanguard variant

NERF

Ban Hammer bonus health per hit reduced: 80 → 60 standard, 80 → 70 upgraded.

Symbiote Shenanigans (Team-Up)

NERF

Jeff/Venom/Hela team-up nerfed from its previously dominant position. Now A-Tier.

System-Wide

NEW MECHANIC

Chain-CC Protection activates after 5.5s total CC or 6 separate CC effects in 7 seconds. Grants Tenacity buff on activation.

What does the Tenacity buff actually mean for the average casual player? It means that coordinated CC-chain compositions: the kind typically assembled by players who have actually studied the game: are now less punishing to face for teams that have not. This is a mercy, framed as a mechanic. The solo queue experience should feel measurably less claustrophobic as a result.

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Best Team-Up Rankings

Team-Up abilities are where casual play and competitive play diverge most dramatically. A team-up is only as useful as the frequency with which both characters are on the same team in the same game, which in uncoordinated casual play is sometimes, often accidentally, and occasionally disastrously. Here are the ones that actually matter and why.

Tier

Team-Up Name

Heroes

Why It Works

S

Lucky Loan

Black Cat / White Fox / Captain America

New S7.5 team-up. White Fox gets auto-target healing in a radius. Cap gets a larger shield with direct damage reflection. Huge upgrades to both.

S

Explosive Entanglement

Gambit / Magneto / Rogue

Boosts Magneto's offensive ceiling. Rogue's presence elevates her to top tier. Consistently in rotation at this level.

S

Mr. Pool's Toy Box

Deadpool / Elsa Bloodstone / Jeff

Jeff gets changing abilities based on Deadpool's mode. Deadpool is picked in virtually every game. Jeff gets a permanent passive bonus for free.

S

Arcane Order

Doctor Strange / Magik

Bumped to S-Tier as both heroes spike in meta relevance. Magik gets a crowd-control tool to pin slippery targets.

A

Symbiote Shenanigans

Jeff / Venom / Hela

Nerfed this patch but still relevant. Hela is a mandatory pick, so the team-up activates naturally. Dropped from S to A.

A

Divine Armory

Thor / Angela

Finally gives Thor a fast mobility option. His viability in higher tiers improves significantly as a result. Angela gets an HP boost.

B

Gamma Charge

Hulk / She-Hulk / The Thing

Running two specific tanks hard-locks the comp. Casual players have fun with it. Competitive players avoid it. The casual experience here is genuinely good, which earns it a tier above its competitive rating.

C

Chilling Assault

Winter Soldier / Hawkeye / Luna Snow

Only Hawkeye sees regular play of the three. A team-up that functionally does not exist most games.

The new Marvel Rivals Team-Up Season 7.5 entry: Lucky Loan: is the most impactful new synergy of the update. The ability it grants White Fox is particularly absurd: auto-target healing in a radius around her removes one of the primary execution demands of the support role. Captain America's shield upgrade is substantial enough that it borders on a free kit rework. Both characters are simultaneously buffed at no cost except picking each other, and Black Cat's Fortune bonus exists on top of all of this. It is an S-Tier team-up and will likely remain one until it gets noticed by the balance team.

Climbing Casual Ranked: The Actual Strategy

The honest truth about climbing Bronze through Platinum in Marvel Rivals is that individual hero selection matters far less than whether you are picking a hero your team can build around without coordinating. The how to climb ranked Marvel Rivals answer is boring: pick characters who perform independently, fill roles your team is missing, and avoid characters with high execution floors when you are on your fourth game of the night.

For Duelists, the reliable climb picks are Hela, Squirrel Girl, and Punisher. All three generate value with minimal team dependency. Hela rewards aim. Squirrel Girl rewards positioning. Punisher rewards setup: get the turret down, mount it in a doorway, and let the enemy walk into it for three games in a row before they adapt. They will often not adapt.

For Vanguards, Doctor Strange and The Thing are your safest bets precisely because neither requires teammate cooperation to do their job. Strange's portal will get used incorrectly by your team for several games before they start using it properly, which is fine: even misused, the portal disrupts enemy formations. Thing simply refuses to die long enough to make life miserable for anyone trying to push your healers.

For Strategists, Rocket Raccoon and Cloak & Dagger should be your defaults until you have developed enough game sense to run Gambit effectively. Jeff the Land Shark is the entry point if you are new to the role. The moment you start thinking about position and not just healing output, graduate to Cloak & Dagger. The moment you start thinking about damage windows and ult economy, start learning Gambit.

One rule above all: In casual ranked, the single largest predictor of success is whether your team has two Strategists or one. Play Strategist if the role is unfilled. The Marvel Rivals ranked tips that actually move the needle are never about individual hero mastery: they are about role coverage and not leaving someone in the team comp to die of neglect.

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Tier List | Vanguards | Dueslists | Strategists | Team-ups FAQ

Is Black Cat good in Season 7.5 casual ranked?

Tentatively A-Tier. Her Fortune system is complex enough that casual players will underperform until the meta matures around her kit.

What does Chain-CC Protection actually do for casual play?

It prevents stunlock chains by granting Tenacity after enough CC hits. Casual play becomes noticeably less helpless against dive-CC compositions.

Why is Spider-Man C-Tier if he's so strong competitively?

His value requires mastering extended combo chains most casual players simply have not practiced. He is a promise, not a product, at this level.

Does Season 7.5 reset my ranked progress or Battle Pass?

No. Ranked progress and the Season 7 Flower of Krakoa Battle Pass continue uninterrupted through the mid-season update.

Who is the best healer to start learning if I am new to Strategist?

Jeff the Land Shark. Pure healing output, no precision required, no role-switching complexity. Build fundamentals here before moving to Gambit.
