Season 14, Death Awakening, launched June 30, 2026. The headline mechanic is Pandemonium Ruptures: open-world tears between Sanctuary and Pandemonium that spawn waves of a new monster family called The Risen. Close them, earn Glints of Hope, and chain your way toward the new Lair Boss. The meta reset is real: Mythic Unique 3.0 lets you craft any Unique into Mythic via the Horadric Cube using Pandemonium Fragments, though only one crafted Mythic can be equipped at a time. Solo Self-Found mode also launched: no trading, no party, dedicated leaderboard. If that sounds miserable, it is, but it exists.
Before anything else: start Normal difficulty. The fastest path to 70 runs through Helltides and Hellwyrm XP farm, not through sweating penitent on day one. Penitent is for try-hards who know the content. You can switch later.
Pick your build before you create your character. You cannot optimally faceroll the Diablo 4 Season 14 leveling guide without one. The table ranks them by 1–70 speed only. Endgame viability is a separate column for a reason.

The entire leveling strategy depends on the War Plans Season 14 node that makes Hellwyrms spit out maggots. Without it, you're just killing regular mobs like a tourist. Prioritize the two core Helltide nodes in the middle of your War Plan tree immediately. Everything else is optional until those are done.
This is the core of fastest way to level in Diablo 4. A Hellwyrm is a burrowing Helltide creature. Kill it, it spawns maggots. Kill maggots, they explode into massive XP globes. At level 57, three globes can mean two full levels. The last 10 levels can take 5 minutes if your route is tight.
Profane Mindcages raise Helltide monster level by 10 and increase Hellwyrm spawn density. Stack them before entering. Free efficiency.

While you're farming Helltides, Pandemonium Ruptures explained: these arcane rifts spawn in three tiers: Normal, Surging, and Colossal. They appear in the open world and inside Helltides, which is why Helltide is doubly efficient this season. Kill the guardians around Death's Head Idols to open a Rupture, then keep killing to extend it. Closing a Rupture grants Glints of Hope for your Zarbinzet reputation board.

Rupture Goblins drop additional rifts when killed. The Deathtoll Chamber guide short version: chain Surging Ruptures → summon Realmwalker → get Chamber portal → Superior Lair Keys → Corrupted Reaper Hoard. That's the endgame loop. Don't touch it while leveling.
If your War Plan has no Helltide, the best XP farm Diablo 4 fallback priority is: Nightmare Dungeons > Undercity > Infernal Hordes. Hordes got buffed but still takes longest to finish: it's last priority. Undercity has the Jade Epiphany node in War Plans that spawns XP globes, slightly slower than Hellwyrms but viable if that's what your plan gave you.
Once you're in Torment 1, you're in endgame build territory. Diablo 4 endgame builds Season 14 that actually survive the meta: Whirlwind Barb, Ancient Singer Barb (Pit 140–150, the legitimate pusher), Poison Penetrating Shot Rogue, Lightning Storm Druid, Firewall Sorcerer. Death Trap Rogue is bugged and may or may not survive a hotfix: gamble accordingly.

Use the loot table to target Lair bosses for specific uniques your build needs. Ramaladni's Magnum Opus bug is fixed this season: Ancient Singer Barb actually works now. Boss keys come from Helltide before you even hit endgame, so you'll have them stacked.
For Mythic Unique crafting Diablo 4: hit 70, get to Torment 1, grab an 850+ Unique in the slot you want, combine with Pandemonium Fragments in the Horadric Cube. One crafted Mythic equipped max: dropped Mythics don't count toward that limit. Farm Fragments from Corrupted Reaper, which you access through the Ruptures → Realmwalker → Deathtoll Chamber → Superior Lair Keys chain.
Solo Self-Found mode tip: SSF disables trading, Party Finder, and Dark Citadel. Best classes for SSF are Paladin, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer: they're self-sufficient. The Hellwyrm loop works exactly the same in SSF. You'll share overworld events with other players anyway, so you're not actually alone.

Dance of Knives Rogue. Unmatched mobility, instant resource generation, record 1–70 times. Not debatable.
Kill Hellwyrm, it spawns maggots, maggots drop XP globes. Chain them. Your levels fly. Use War Plans Helltide nodes to increase spawn rate.
Seasonal rifts that spawn in Helltides. Close them for Glints of Hope and bonus XP. Don't stop your route to chase them: take them as you pass.
Slower to 70, stronger in endgame. Lightning Storm and Shred both push 135+. Play it if you don't care about day-one speed.
Craft via Horadric Cube at 70+ Torment 1 using Pandemonium Fragments. One crafted Mythic equipped max. Dropped ones ignore that limit.
